I Can Save Him (3)

Anna was full of hope for her future, and she believed she could deal with the problems caused by the demon, as well as the demon himself.

Because she was worried about little Evan, Anna didn't study too long today. After practicing the illumination spell a few times, she said goodbye to Dubian and went home.

Gaea was taking care of little Evan in the bedroom. Anna saw little Evan lying on the bed with his eyes closed and face flushed.

"Mama, how is little Evan?" Anna quickly sat down by the bed and touched little Evan's head. His forehead was hot. Anna retracted her hand when she touched it, surprised.

"He was fine in the morning, but started to burn again in the afternoon." Gaea's eyes were a little red. "I went to the doctor and bought a tube of medicine. I fed it to him earlier, but didn’t see any improvement."

When civilians got sick, they could only endure it. Medicine was too expensive; it cost at least one silver coin for a tube, and even then they might not get better.

Anna touched little Evan's forehead again.

If she had an affinity for the light element, maybe she could learn the holy healing spell... But, could little Evan make it until then?

Gaea said, "Anna, if little Evan still doesn’t feel well tomorrow, I will go to the church to ask for holy water. The goddess is kind and will definitely bless little Evan. He is still so young, how can I let him go to the heavenly kingdom now?"

Anna felt uncomfortable in her heart when she heard this. There was no such thing as the heavenly kingdom.

"If we can ask Father Louis to help, little Evan will have hope. His Holy Healing spell is very powerful. I witnessed him cure Young Master Parrish." Anna said.

Gaea's eyes lit up and she nodded quickly and said, "Tomorrow I will go to the church to pray and beg Father Louis to save little Evan."

Anna nodded, saying nothing.

Later, seeing the fever on Evan's forehead subsided a little bit, she went back to her bedroom.

That night, a red-eyed Adele was still snuggling next to Anna, almost choking on sobs as she fell asleep.

And Anna silently recited the words and meanings of the 60 ways to kill demonic beasts taught by the demon today. She had no idea when she fell asleep.

The next morning, little Evan's condition looked a little better. Anna watched him eat something. He weakly and cutely greeted her. His eyes were red and on the verge of tears despite smiling brightly at her.

Anna asked Gaea to take care of little Evan at home. As for her, she first went to the kitchen of the earl estate and requested half a day off, and asked Rebecca to take care of the Holy Son for her temporarily.

Rebecca heard that Anna's brother was sick, and granted her the leave with great understanding.

Today was payday. Anna received her salary and left the earl estate for the Blue Stone City Church.

Anna hadn't been to the church yet. Because she worked in the earl estate, she never went when her parents brought her younger siblings to church, and she was a little resistant to praying to the so-called gods.

But Father Louis of the church had real healing power.

Today was not a Sunday, and there were not many civilians coming and going at the gate of the church.

Anna approached the luxurious church, and when she looked up, she could see the painting on the dome, which told the story of the creation God handing over power to the goddess.

Inside the church were rows of benches, similar to what Anna had seen before in the TV series. Many civilians were sitting scattered on the benches, praying with their eyes closed. In the corner of the church, a priest in a black priest's uniform was patiently answering the questions of the believers.

Anna walked over to the end of the line. As she was waiting for the line to move forward a little bit, she heard other believers call the priest Pastor Arthur.

After waiting for almost half an hour before it was Anna's turn, she quickly explained the situation to Pastor Arthur, and then made a request: "I would like to request for Father Louis to save my brother."

Pastor Arthur showed compassion and said unhurriedly: "The goddess has been blessing your brother. If he goes to the heavenly kingdom, it is because the goddess loves him too much and summoned him to the heavenly kingdom. You don't have to be too sad."

Anna almost wanted to jump up and scold him. To hell with summoning him to the heavenly kingdom! She just wanted little Evan to live!

In a social environment where almost all people believed in the Goddess of Light, and in the church, Anna dared not show any disrespect to the goddess, and hastily said: "Pastor Arthur, I know that little Evan will live well in the kingdom of God, but he is still so young, and my family members are reluctant to part ways with him now. The goddess is merciful, and will definitely not take away little Evan so soon!"

Pastor Arthur's face became more serious, and he reprimanded: "Don't speculate about the gods! Everything in the world is arranged by the goddess."

Obviously you yourself were speculating about God just now!

Anna took a deep breath, but did not dare to refute him for fear of being accused of being disrespectful to the goddess, or even a heretic.

Although in their perspective, she was indeed a heretic.

Seeing that Anna stopped speaking, Pastor Arthur's expression eased. He took a little glass bottle from the altar on the side, passed it to her and said compassionately: "Take this holy water back. The goddess is kind and will make the best arrangement."

Anna took the holy water and held onto it tightly. The believers around were full of envy. She thought the situation was very ironic.

But she still had to say gratefully: "Thank the goddess for her mercy!"

Then she turned around and left without looking back.
