The Sharp-Tongued Teacher (1)

Anna got into the carriage prepared by Natalie’s family.

This four-wheeled carriage looked clunky, but because the chassis had a very sophisticated steering structure, it actually moved quite dexterously.

Inside the carriage were two benches facing each other. Each bench could seat three people, just like a railroad train. A small wooden board was nailed toward he back of the carriage, acting as a table. Currently, some beautiful and sweet snacks were placed on the small table, and there was juice in a transparent glass pitcher.

“It’s like we’re on an outing.” Anna smiled and sat across from Natalie.

Natalie chuckled a few times, then opened the upper cabinet on the back side as if showing off her treasures and gestured to Anna: “There are many easy-to-preserve delicious foods here. I don’t know how long we are going to stay outside for, so I prepared ten days worth!”

She opened the cabinet under the seat again, revealing many large glass bottles filled with water: “Here, and under your seat, are filled with water. If you want to, you can wash up however you’d like! I also prepared a pot; we can set up camp, start a fire and cook food!”

Seeing Natalie’s excited look, Anna couldn’t help but be infected by her emotions, and she took in these preparations with great interest.

Going near the life and death line this time, her conditions were much better than when she was with Dubian.

When Natalie finished the introduction excitedly, the demon’s carriage must have moved, as their carriage also followed.

Just like Natalie said, this was indeed the best carriage her family owned. When she was still in Black Cloud City, she hardly felt any vibration when riding along on the stone road, but after exiting the city where the roads became uneven and bumpy, the carriage was still able to maintain a certain degree of stability.

When Anna came to Black Cloud City, it took about ten hours to walk from the line of life and death to the gates of Black Cloud City, and the speed of a carriage on this uneven road was two or three times that of a human’s walking speed. After about four or five hours, the carriages reached a point where they could no longer go forward.

They were still miles away from the line of life and death, which they needed to walk to.

Everyone ate their lunches on the road. At about two o’clock in the afternoon, Anna jumped out of the carriage, stretched her stiff limbs, and looked around.

It was here that she parted from Dubian more than half a month ago.

“So tired.” Natalie got out of the carriage and couldn’t help yawning.

Long-distance travel was always tiring and boring. She was very interested at first, but then she leaned back on the bench and fell asleep, unable to keep her energy up.

And Anna had meditated all the way, so she was in good spirits.

Rothgarr’s face was still very ugly when he got off the carriage. For some situations, one would be angry when it happened, and the more you thought about it later, the more angry you’d be.

When he saw that Anna dare to come over to him with a smile, he became even more angry, with an ice cold expression on his face.

It was impossible for Anna not to know what the demon was feeling; it was too obviously written on his face, as if he wanted to kill her on the spot.

Was he that angry just because she brought Natalie along?

Or, did Natalie being here hinder his “couple’s world” plan that his brain came up with? He really could dream; how could she spend time in a couple’s world with him? Even if she had really been alone with him, did he really think she would fall in love with him and agree to his marriage proposal? She didn’t know if he was too superficial, or if he thought of her too superficially.

Anna paused, but in the end she walked over with the demon’s cold gaze on her, pointed to his back and said: “Mage Raymond, there is  something on your back.”

Rothgarr thought Anna came over to apologize, or at least say something nice. He was stunned when he heard what she said, but because he couldn’t see behind him, he didn’t move for a moment.

Anna said, “Excuse me,”, and removed the white feather stuck to his back.

Rothgarr unconsciously stared at Anna when she approached him. Her outstretched hand barely touched his back, and when she retracted it, a barely felt touch behind him, and when she retracted it, there was a white feather in her hand.

This is a down feather from the pillow that he had split in half.

Looking at the feather in her hand, the first thought in Anna’s mind was that this demon had reached the age of his hair falling out? But she quickly remembered that Balan’s wings were not like bird wings, but bat-like wings, and would not shed hair.

She looked at the white feathers again, guessing that it might be a down feather, which looked like the feathers that would sometimes come out of the gaps in the down jacket she had owned in the past.

Before Anna looked again, a golden light flashed, shot through the feather in her hand accurately. It carried the feather to the side, and nailed the feather to the trunk with a bang. The golden light disappeared, and the feathers sank into the trunk, trembling slightly.

Anna stayed in a daze before taking her hand back. She took a step back silently. What’s wrong with this demon, getting all bothered by this lifeless feather?

Rothgarr didn’t explain anything. He turned around and left.

Anna looked at his back and noticed that on his lower waist was another feather.

This time she learned her lesson and said nothing. She dragged Natalie, who was shocked by the sudden attack of the demon, along with her, while the two coachmen waited in place.

Natalie pointed to the feather that was still stuck on the demon’s back, and gestured to Anna with her eyes. Anna shook her head and touched her eyes, saying that pretending to not see anything was the best choice.

Rothgarr was in the front, Anna and Natalie were behind him. The three of them walked towards the line of life and death in silence.

Anna didn’t know what demonic creatures the demon was going to hunt. She didn’t think it was important. They were all excuses anyway, but in order to keep the act up, she still ran up to the demon. Once she was only half a step behind the demon, she asked: “Mage Raymond, what demonic creatures do you want to hunt? What do you need my help for? I explained in advance that Natalie and I have no actual combat experience. The only thing I can do is probably to cheer you on the sidelines and give you spiritual support!”

Rothgarr glanced back at Anna, but she was smiling brightly. The anger in his chest seemed to dissipate, and he turned back to his eyes and said casually, “I’ll hunt whatever I see; you guys just focus on not dying.”

Focus on not dying? This phrase was very unpleasant to the ears!

Anna raised her eyebrows and smiled: “Understand, we will definitely not cause you trouble. But in order to protect ourselves a little while you are busy dealing with the demonic creatures, we want to practice special combat training before entering the line of life and death. If you’re not in a hurry to hunt demonic creatures, can you give us some pointers?”

Rothgarr stopped and turned to look at Anna, his eyes clear.

He had wondered why Anna took the initiative to come to him after more than ten days. It turned out that she came to him because she had finished studying theories and wanted to practice.

He wasn’t angry about this; in fact, he hoped that she would have such thoughts often.

His fight with Hansen in the ring that day was not futile after all. She must have seen that he was strong in combat, which was why she came to him.
