Of course, there was no way she would let Chen Yunsheng fetch her without any heads up. It was much more convenient for her to directly hail a cab, especially since she wanted to get home as soon as possible.

Li Xiaoxing’s secretary was accompanied by a muscular person who appeared to be a bodyguard.
Ji Fanyin took a moment to consider her current situation.
Li Xiaoxing probably realized that the person he met in Greece was me and not Ji Xinxin, so he’s here to settle the scores.
If so, there’s just one last question I need to answer here: Should I meet him or not?

“He’s in the car downstairs.”
If Li Xiaoxing came down here personally, it should be safe to assume that he isn’t here to get rid of me.
With such thoughts in mind, Ji Fanyin said, “I have an appointment with someone else. May I make a call to inform the other party that I won’t be able to make it?”
The secretary politely raised his hand to gesture for her to go ahead.
But just as Ji Fanyin had tapped into her list of contacts and was about to make the call, the secretary suddenly asked, “Is the appointment you’re talking about the one with Cen Xiangyang?”
Ji Fanyin halted. She smiled at the secretary and said, “It looks like Mr Li has conducted a thorough investigation.”
“You need not waste your time. Someone will inform Cen Xiangyang on your behalf,” the secretary said. “It also has to do with why Mr Li wishes to meet you.”
Ji Fanyin’s eyebrows shot up.
Given that Li Xiaoxing had seen her with Bai Zhou, it shouldn’t be too hard for him to figure out what was going on.
The secretary stepped aside and ushered her forward. “Miss Ji, this way please.”
Ji Fanyin decided to go along with them to meet Li Xiaoxing.
But on her way down, she openly sent a text message to one of her contacts: 【I’m going to meet Li Xiaoxing now. If you don’t receive any response from me within three hours, I’ll have to trouble you to call the police】
The person she chose was Zhang Ning.
One, Zhang Ning was a smart woman with means. Her background and capability meant that it was unlikely that she would get outright suppressed by Li Xiaoxing. Two, Ji Fanyin had conversed with her on several occasions, and she felt that the latter was a trustworthy person.
Of her entire contact list, there was no one more suitable than Zhang Ning.
