Wedding Rings (1)

“Ah, that’s too bad, there goes all the food,” Xi Chengyun bemoaned. However, there wasn’t the slightest bit of regret in his voice.

The lady next to Jiang Fangcheng hurried to say, “I’ll get someone to go to the restaurant to…”

“So, there’s no need for us to eat anymore,” Xi Chengyun frankly interrupted the lady.

Right now, Father Jiang wanted nothing more than for Xi Chengyun to leave as soon as possible, to prevent the situation from turning any sourer than it already was.

“It’s okay then…” Father Jiang squeezed out a tiny smile and said, “Knowing how busy you are, it must have been difficult for you to pay us a visit. I just hope that you’d think carefully about what type of people you should, and shouldn’t, trust…”

Father Jiang stopped there and said, “Ah, just leave.”

Xi Chengyun stood up.

Naturally, Bai Qi also got up and followed closely beside him.

Together, they walked out of the villa, side-by-side.

Despite Bai Qi’s strong longing to know more about the tea within the family, he didn’t have any desire to stay back. He didn’t open his mouth to ask Xi Chengyun about his family’s situation either.

Jiang Fangcheng clenched his fist, and shockingly, went out and chased after them.

“He… he’s going to see his brother off.” Father Jiang didn’t sound very confident when he said that.

“Oh,” Han Si replied, treating it as if she didn’t find anything off about the situation.

The more guilty the Jiang family felt, the better it was. Thus, naturally, they wouldn’t dare to exert control over her in the future.

After just a few steps out of the villa, Xi Chengyun heard the sound of footsteps coming from behind, getting closer to them by the minute.

Xi Chengyun stopped and turned around.

Popped blood vessels could be seen in Jiang Fangcheng’s eyes. The muscles throughout his entire body were spasming lightly, a natural reaction that he truly couldn’t go against.

He was sweating all over while he stared at Bai Qi. He managed to force out a sentence, “Why, out of all people… Why? Why must it be him?”

Of course, only Jiang Fangcheng knew that no one would do. It was just that, out of everyone, the only person he was afraid of was Xi Chengyun.

“I was almost accidentally killed by him, you know!” Jiang Fangcheng screamed, voice hoarse.

“…” Bai Qi reacted.

Ah, this…

“Just as you said, it was almost and accidentally,” Bai Qi breezily replied.

Xi Chengyun had no intention of hiding the matter from Bai Qi.

Hence, Xi Chengyun launched into a narrative, spoken as if he were gracefully reciting a poem.

“Mn. Well, imagine finding out that your frail little brother, who grew up completely pampered by your mom, was actually an illegitimate child who was borne by your nanny. Not only that, your real brother has actually switched away in the process to make space for him…You’ve got to know, most people would, for even a second, hope for that person to die.” His voice was gentle, retaining his gentlemanly poise.

At that point, Jiang Fangcheng felt like he was being choked by the neck. His face was dead pale, eyes sullen as he remained silent.

Oh my f*cking God, Bai Qi thought.

No wonder that lady called him ‘Chengyun’ initially, but changed to address him as ‘Young Master’ after that.

Then, how about Xi Chengyun’s biological mother?

… Has she… passed away?

Based on the reaction of Father Jiang, the lady, as well as Jiang Fangcheng, he could imagine how terrifying Xi Chengyun’s response was back then when he’d uncovered the truth.

At the present moment, the driver had gotten down from the car and was opening the door for them.

Xi Chengyun lightly tapped Bai Qi on his shoulder and said, “Okay, get in the car.”

Bai Qi nodded obediently in response.

Jiang Fangcheng’s eyes were blood-dripping red. However, Xi Chengyun was right in front of him, standing like a tall, thorn-covered wall.

He couldn’t climb past it.

Jiang Fangcheng’s thoughts were a spiraling mess.

Why isn’t Qi Qi afraid of Xi Chengyun?

Qi Qi should hate Xi Chengyun by now!

Qi Qi is a shining beam of light. How could he stand to associate himself with such darkness?

By the time Jiang Fangcheng managed to struggle out of his thoughts, Xi Chengyun’s car was already far away from the villa.

In the car, Xi Chengyun was staring at Bai Qi, and he asked in a low voice, “So, should we go somewhere else to eat?”

“Sure!” Bai Qi replied. He was starving right now due to the prior hold-up.

Xi Chengyun shifted his gaze away from him. “Mn,” he answered Bai Qi softly.

They ended up dining at a private restaurant.

When A-Da, Xi Chengyun’s assistant, came to pick them up after their meal, he smiled, saying, “Xi-ge eats here quite often.”

So…

A-Da took a step forward and immediately realized, Shit!

There could be loads of reporters camping around here, just waiting for them to come out.

“Xi-ge, the pictures…” A-Da turned his head back to ask.

“It’s fine.”

So, A-Da had no choice but to keep mum.

A thought arose in A-Da’s mind. Xi-ge couldn’t possibly have done this on purpose, hoping for their pictures to be taken… right?

Xi Chengyun and Bai Qi walked to the car. Xi Chengyun didn’t give the order to head home. Instead, he asked the driver to drop them off at a shopping mall.

When they reached, Bai Qi followed Xi Chengyun into the elevator, stopping at the second floor.

The second floor of this shopping mall was mainly for customized jewelry.
