A Contractual Marriage with the Best Leading Actor Chapter 95

Xi-ge is a Good Man (2)

Before a new report was issued by the psychiatric clinic, he shouldn’t let himself indulge in any thoughts he had for Bai Qi.

Throughout the session, Xi Chengyun didn’t tell Doctor Chen about the real relationship between him and Bai Qi, which was where his frustrations were actually coming from.

He didn’t want to take the risk.

Xi Chengyun slowly got up and said, “You’ve worked hard. I’ll pay you extra this month.”

Doctor Chen nodded.

She watched as Xi Chengyun walked away. Just then, she suddenly realized that she should’ve told him that since he’s married, he could consider sharing some of his thoughts with his partner…

Mr. Xi controlled himself excessively.

Self-discipline is good.

But not if a person made themselves do everything with an unchanging expression, and to live life according to a boring life-planner.

When Xi Chengyun reached home, Bai Qi was watching videos on his back on the sofa.

He didn’t ask Xi Chengyun where he had gone.

It was as if he’d silently agreed to not take part in Xi Chengyun’s life outside of the camera lens.

Xi Chengyun’s newly organized mental construct snapped and broke down.

This was a completely new experience for him.

He walked closer to Bai Qi.

Then, he heard screams and shouts from Bai Qi’s phone, and not to mention a few curses spouted in a different language.

Xi Chengyun couldn’t help but ask, “What are you watching?”

It was only then that Bai Qi realized Xi Chengyun was home.

“I wanted to check the results of my finals on the official website… but then I received a pop-up from a speculative gossip account, so I clicked. It’s a video from your early days when you were overseas.”

Xi Chengyun’s eyelid twitched. “Let me see.”

Bai Qi patted the space next to him. “Sit.” While he said that, he shifted his phone towards that side and said, “Can you see?”

“Yes.” The darkness in Xi Chengyun’s eyes became deeper than before.

Bai Qi said, “Shang-ge said that it wasn’t you the moment he saw it and immediately went back to the studio to settle the issue… But it seems like you’re not receiving any major backlash from the online audience.”

This was a video of Xi Chengyun playing ice hockey overseas.

There was a ‘9’ on his back and he was dressed in black protective gear.

This attire brought along a strong sense of oppression.

His opponent was also dressed in white.

Someone from the white team swung their hockey stick towards No.9 and the person whacked right back.

The helmet of the person from the white team flew away and two streams of blood immediately flowed from his nostrils.

Bai Qi frowned. “Is this a proper match?”

Out of all the matches he’d played in the past, he’d seen nothing like this.

In the video, No.13 from the white team raised his leg and attempted to use his skates to hurt others, but was held back by No.9 by the collar.

After a few punches...

The shape of his face was almost on the brink of changing.

A pool of red soon gathered on the snowy white ice.

Xi Chengyun bit his lips and said, “It’s not a proper match.”

“I knew it. In a proper competition, we are not allowed to use our hockey sticks and skates during our fights… this match is too unprofessional. What is this match for?”

“An underground match, the audience are betting on who’ll be winning.”

Bai Qi found something off.

‘Xi Chengyun knows exactly what’s happening, does this mean that… No.9 is actually him?’

Bai Qi immediately turned to look at him.

Xi Chengyun looked down. His eyes looked unapproachable as he stared at the screen of the phone. It seemed like he was going to split the screen into parts.

He didn’t turn to look at Bai Qi’s expression.

“Sigh, that’s… pretty difficult. Was it a losing bet?”

He lightly tapped Xi Chengyun on the shoulder.

Xi Chengyun’s stiff muscles relaxed a little.

He leaned back on the sofa, and he kinda wanted to laugh.

Xi Chengyun said in a deep voice, “I didn’t lose. No.13 lost, and he was sent to the hospital.”

Bia Qi blinked and stared at the polite man in front of him.

‘Then, then, you are pretty ferocious, huh?’

‘Oh right, true.’

‘Otherwise, why would Jiang Fangcheng fear him so? He acts like he’d seen a tiger whenever he sees him.’

Bai Qi was worried that Xi Chengyun would overthink things, so he scrolled through the comments on his phone and said, “Hey, look, none of your fans felt you acted out of character.”

After episode 3 of ‘The Perfectly Wedded Pair’ aired, his fans were howling for more.

Even the general audience couldn’t help but praise Xi-ge for his strength.

No matter who uploaded the video, and whether it was done intentionally to ruin Xi Chengyun’s character…

It was all pointless.

“The white team from this video is so treacherous…” Bai Qi was considerate enough to read the comments out loud for Xi Chengyun just in case he couldn’t see.

“Wang Miaofeng: Thank goodness I ran away fast enough! What the heck is this?”

“In the video, it feels like Xi-ge has fully embraced the character of a boxer that he has acted as in the past, he’s so freaking handsome…”

Xi Chengyun didn’t bat an eyelash as he listened.
