Out of all attacks that they did, they came as a surprise every single time. Coupled with the fact that they couldn't help the TSFs in the land, they are slowly getting pushed back.
This is also the main reason why their mecha are called "Tactical Surface Fighters" instead of Mobile Suits.
However, this will all change... if there's a mobile suit that is specialized on one-versus-many scenarios.

With the GN Particle's property to control inertia, Exia dodged the incoming thick laser from a Laser-Class BETA. Soon after, it threw a pair of GN Beam Daggers on its rear waist.
Unsurprisingly, it managed to kill 2 Laser-class BETAs along with some unfortunate ones.
"If I knew that it'll be like this..."
Kouzuki: That's the advantage of being airborne. You'll only have to deal with the Laser-class ones and I'm sure you could avoid them with your reflexes.

Since she saw him helped them defend Niigata, she didn't doubt his identity. Only, she merely wanted to know of his affiliation, whether he belongs to America's new set of TSFs or another force within the United Nations.

After all, these Laser-type BETAs are one, if not, the most protected personnel of them. If they had a way to eliminate them this easily, they would've used more air support during their fight against BETAs in the last 30 years.
As for the annoying Land-types like the Grappler-class, Destroyer-class, and the likes, they wouldn't matter once they get continuously bombarded from above; in this situation, they're the prey.

Exia's armblade suddenly folded, revealing the twin muzzles hidden underneath it. Then, it shot a couple of energy beams made out of GN Particles in the eyes of a Grappler-class.

With its sight gone, it couldn't use its pincers. Even when Exia arrived in front of it with a GN Beam Saber, it didn't react.

This is what men here dreamed of, to single-handedly annihilate these BETAs in such a cool way!

Piloting a mecha, a TSF in this world, also needs swift reflexes and fast reaction time. Without these, they'll simply die in a battle.
Though, reality can be a nightmare to them.

In a split second, GN Particles ran through the GN Beam Saber in his hand before it activated. With it, he slashed down at its head - its body part that is protected by the armor that exceeded diamond's toughness.
A moment later, it's split into two halves, just like the fate of over a hundred BETAs that he fought in the span of ten minutes.
Deactivating the beam saber, he placed it back behind Exia's shoulder blades.
Looking at the depleting energy gauge, Shiro didn't hesitate to use up the final GN Condensers, a storage of GN Particles that can be used to instantly refill a 00 Mobile Unit with GN Particles.
While the GN Drive is semi-perpetual, its reserves can still get lower if the refill-consumption rate breaks; it happens when the GN Particles consumed is higher than its refill rate.
GN Condensers exist for this sole reason - it provides a Gundam Meister a greater range of GN Particle reserves by storing the excess GN Particles converted by the GN Drive.
"There's only 4 Heavy Lasers left along with 5 Fort-class..." He muttered while maneuvering from the lasers and acid attacks spewed by the said Fort-class BETAs.
Suddenly, he asked, "What do you think should I use if this is a game, Shinji-kun?"

Though, it's not without a reason as the Gundam here are too broken. Imagine Freedom massacring those poor Zakus, or any of the 00 Gundams fighting against a dozen of them... Long story short, it's a one-sided massacre. Maybe Full Frontal with his Sinanju can handle those, however.
