180 Ch. 180 Richard’s Restlessness

Anxia’s drink wasn’t dangerous, but it was hot tea that would hurt little Lori’s soft skin. That’s why Michele immediately stood up to save Lori when she discovered that Anxia accidentally dropped her teacup.
“Lori, I’m sorry. Are you hurt?” Anxia squatted down to investigate her daughter’s condition and could only breathe a sigh of relief when she didn’t see any traces of hot tea splashed on her daughter’s clothes.
Anxia glanced at Michele and looked at her gratefully. If Michelle had not helped her drag Lori’s chair back, Anxia couldn’t imagine what would have happened to her daughter.
In the next second, Anxia felt someone standing behind her―that person grasped her hand and pulled her to rise to her feet.
“I’m sorry, mom. But we will have to pass this time. I promise I’ll visit him next time in person.” After saying his statement, Richard turned to his sister. “Could you babysit Lori for a bit?”
Harmonie smiled at her as she agreed to her brother’s request. Then Richard took his wife out of the dining room, to the astonishment of all his family members.
“Did something happen? Why doesn’t Richie seem very fond of my brother?” Meisya asked her husband with a confused look.
“I guess what he doesn’t like is your niece.”
“Quinny? What’s wrong with her? She is a sweet and understanding girl. I don’t understand why people don’t like that girl.”
“That’s right. Quinn is a kind and sweet girl. Well, sometimes she does act a bit selfish, though. But she is a good girl.” added Raymond making Harmonie roll her eyes lazily.
Of course, Meisya and Raymond viewed Quinn as a sweet and kind girl. Only Harmonie knew what Quinn Heinest was like―prideful, arrogant, and believed everything belonged to her.
The girl loved to seek attention from Harmonie’s brothers, even kicking her out indirectly to monopolize her two older siblings. Luckily, Moni had mature thoughts compared to teenagers her age, so she didn’t complain or whine about taking back her two older brothers. But still, she hated Quinn to the bone.
Quinn’s mother―Madeline Heinest, was no better than her daughter. The old lady always liked comparing her daughter to Harmonie and ridicules her indirectly at every chance.
Lady Heinest preferred to boast of her two children and speak ill of other people’s children. Meisya was often patient, but when Madeline had overstepped her bounds, Meisya was always ready to defend her kids without hesitation.
If Leonard, Meisya’s dearest brother, had not fallen in love with Madeline and married her, maybe Meisya would not have wanted to be friends or be friendly with that woman.
