55 Ch. 55 Richard’s Counterattack

“Richie, don’t you think it was too big? You should have cut it into smaller pieces first.”

“Oh, I overlooked it,” came his indifferent answer.

Richard already knew that he should cut the meat into small pieces. He often saw his father doing it for his mother. Not only his father but his uncle, Kinsey, and Vincent also did it for their wives.

Born and raised in a romantic family and received upbringing and teachings from men who only adhered to monogamy, Richard knew how to cherish a woman.

However, he was not interested in pouring out his affection for his wife at this time. He believed Anxia felt the same as she always tried to beat him every time he tried to make his advance.

He was in a bad mood when he heard his wife was about to abort his baby... no. The woman did not even care for her fetus until almost five months into her pregnancy.

He was outraged and did not know where to vent this anger. He understood himself and didn’t want to worsen the warm atmosphere of his family, so he purposely did something he had already expected so that he wouldn’t feel tired of receiving glares from his wife.

Well, he had no idea that his wife would take his feed... and by now, she must have to spit it out in the trash.

Relaxing and acting as if nothing had happened, they continued the rest of the dinner. Since the feeding incident, Richard and Anxia hadn’t spoken at all and only communicated when Lori asked them something.

.....

Meisya and Lori did not feel suspicious, but their awkwardness did not escape Stanley Calvin.

Stanley snorted sarcastically but smiled with satisfaction. His foolish son seemed to have already realized what kind of woman Qiao Anxia was like.

Richard announced something to everyone as they enjoyed the evening listening to Lori talk about her day with her parents.

“We will leave for Hallstatt Island tomorrow and stay there for a while.”

Anxia was confused to hear the name of a foreign island she had never heard of before. Moreover, seeing the tense faces of her in-laws made Anxia wonder what was wrong with this Hallstatt island.

“Richie...”

“Don’t worry; we’ll be fine.” Richard’s soothing tone brought Anxia further confusion.

Why did she feel that her mother-in-law was so worried if they’re moving to the island? Is there anything dangerous there? Is that why Meisya is anxious?

But if there was a danger, why did Richard take her... bring their daughter to live there?

“Are you sure?”

“Hmm. You don’t mind. right, dad?”

“I promised not to interfere in your matters. Just do what you want to do.”

Richard smiled with satisfaction hearing that, and he felt a curious look from his wife. Of course, Richard wouldn’t satisfy her curiosity and pretended not to notice his wife’s gaze.

After all, when else would his wife keep stealing glances and staring at him? He enjoyed the feeling of confusion and curiosity of his wife.

That night, Richard refused Lori’s request to sleep together for the first time.

“Eh? You said we would sleep together every night.”

“Sorry, baby girl. I have to take care of something. Now, be a good girl and go sleep with your mommy.” Richard picked up his daughter and kissed her forehead before letting Anxia take her.

Without glancing at Anxia, ??Richard left and headed to his study room.

Once Richard’s back was out of sight, Lori looked at her mother with an innocent yet suspicious look.

“What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?”

“You guys had a fight?”

“No.”

“Then why is dad angry?”

“He’s not mad at you.”

“I know. Why is he angry at you?” Lori cleverly tilted her head cutely while wearing an innocent expression.

“Lori, why do I feel like you’ve been siding with your dad instead of me lately?”

“It’s only your feeling, mom,” came her thoughtful answer while blinking her eyes a few times cutely and giving a huge yawn. “Mom, I’m so sleepy.”

Anxia couldn’t bear to scold her daughter when she saw her daughter’s tiny hand rubbing her eyes.

“Okay, let’s sleep now.” resignedly, Anxia took her daughter to their room to put her to sleep.

In the meantime, Richard talked to someone on his phone.

“How is her state?”

“Battered.” answered the voice on the other end. “But she has already passed the danger phase. She will survive.”

“That’s good.”

“Why did you suddenly save her? She’s not our mission.”

“Just instinct. Treat her as best you can, okay.”

“Yes, boss!”

Richard opened his laptop and ordered his digital assistant to find out the ins and outs of the Luen group and its leader.

This time he wasn’t worried that the Luen group’s IT team would track him down because his father’s digital assistant was still invincible in this world. Instead, he switched their team tracking system to a city in Thailand.

That way, they would think that what has entered their defense system came from Thailand.

At the same time, he took a CCTV recording in the area where he lived and then posted a photo of Anxia along with a man of the same stature as him and a small child.

He edited it in such a way that it would appear that Anxia, a man, and a girl had taken a walk around the city and then left for the airport.

He also entered Qiao Anxia’s name, along with a random man’s name, into the list of passengers on the plane that was leaving tomorrow morning.

The Luen group hacker team was initially divided into two teams: the security surveillance team and the other triad leaders, and the latter was the tracking team. The latter tracked Anxia’s whereabouts and monitored her movements in this country.

However, because someone was constantly attacking their programming system, even giving them a virus, they inevitably had to shift all their work to defending and tracking down the source that attacked them.

According to Richard’s plan, while they were all busy defending, Richard relaxed, making false images, indicating that Anxia would depart from the Netherlands and return to Asia.

No one would have thought that this cyber war was just a distraction to make everyone no longer attend Anxia.

And as Richard had expected. Master Yu and his right hand immediately left for the airport and headed straight to Thailand. Richard smiled with satisfaction because Master Yu would not bother Anxia for a while because he would be looking for the perpetrators trying to sneak into his base in Thailand.

Have pleasant hunting, master Yu. Because what you are looking for is non-exist.
