I was killing time after my return to Halekuwait, waiting for the tournament against Fishnatica to begin. Being a student at a magic school is awesome, its totally different from when I was in Japan, there’s no midterms, you can go to sleep whenever you want and wake up without the annoying sound of an alarm clock. During this time I also continued to enter the restricted section searching for magic that healers could use, thanks to this I found several different kinds of magic but it’s not attack magic. All it is, is just healing magic, why is magic that can be used to help people locked up? By the way it seems that in this world the concept of learning new magic through leveling up isn’t the way that most people learn magic. Apparently it’s pretty common to learn magic through books.
While thinking about these things I joined Toa in the cafeteria.
“You’re late, what were you doing?”
“What? I was sleeping.”
“ Nito, good morning.”
Francesca and Dolly from magical communication were sitting there.
“Its unusual to see you in the cafeteria this early in the morning.”
I sat next to them.
“I acquired some interesting information, its part of this weeks article but I thought I would check directly with the person in question.”
Sufilia was reading Magical communication next to me, on the cover was ‘ King’s Shield Jade Gyges.’ … So thats what this is about.
“Oh Francesca you already heard about that? That was fast.”
“No, it was not I who interviewed them. However it seems that you appeared in the Empire.”
At that I just stared at her for a good three seconds trying to come up with what to say.
“Quite the talkative person huh?”
“I dont know the full details but it says something like ‘Tell Nito that children shouldnt meddle in the affairs of adults.’ “
“HAHAHAHA, I see…. I’m relieved, it seems that it worked better than I expected.”
“What does that mean? Are you being serious?”
“Yeah, I don’t intend to try and hide it from you. I went to confirm what you’d told me with him but in the end I didn’t really understand anything. Oh, but I have something interesting for you as well.”
“ Something interesting?”
“ Yep, do you know about Dragon’s Heart? That’s his Goal.”
“ Of course. It’s a group that assassinates royalty and aristocrats that have abused their power.”
“No no, not that Dragon’s Heart. I’m talking about the Dragon’s Heart that existed hundreds of years ago.”
Francesca didn’t seem to understand what I was saying.
“ I see….. So in other words you dont know it.”
Apparently dragons heart wasnt as well known as I thought it was. Was it actually erased from history like ‘he’ had said?
“Uhm, what in the world are you talking about?…….. It sounds very interesting but…..”
It’s not really something that I have to keep hidden so I told her the story of Zephyr and his friends. About Dragon’s Heart and how they existed in the past, about how they destroyed the Empire back then, and about the black dragon. How they became a legendary party by clearing a dungeon, although I left out the part about Khalifa and Zephyrs still being alive and just said that the five of them had gone missing.
“That…… What are you talking about? If that’s true then….”
Francesca was speechless.
“ True? All you have to do is write that I’m the one that said it, that will make it credible.”
“That…. Thank you.”
Francesca was busy organizing the information that I had just given her.
“ Francesca?”
“Yes?”
Toa had suddenly called out to her.
“What is this religious group?”
Toa was talking about a small article in Magical communication.
“Oh its some charity organization that suddenly appeared called, ‘Charitable bloodline’. I have a colleague who likes that kind of scoop.”
“What about this Ankh Amadeus? Whats that?”
“Oh I don’t really know because I didnt hear about it directly but, I think thats the name of the founder. He seems to be worshiped as some kind of god of life or something.”
“Hmmm.”
“Lord Nito, it seems like your mask is booming.”
Sufilia suddenly interjected.
“Booming?”
When I looked at the article she was referencing I saw that apparently my mask was indeed ‘Booming’ and saw pictures of children wearing replicas of my mask.
" "“ As expected, Lord Nito is very popular with the children.”
“Are you trying to flatter me?”
“ No way! I’m not trying to flatter you, I’m really impressed.”
Under this was written ‘The Nito effect? The healer is hot right now!’, apparently my existence was spreading to places I’d never even been.
“Excuse us, we’ve gotten some very interesting information from you Nito.”
With that Francesca and Dolly stood up from their seats.
“ Write whatever you like about it.”
“…..I understand. I was going to do so anyway.”
With a smile they left.
“Nito, its about time.”
“Hmm? For what?”
An announcement came as if in answer to my question.
‘ I will now announce the representatives from Fishnatica.’
Toa looked as if she had been waiting for this.
‘ First place: Tim Lloyd, Second place: Joanna Harris,…’
“First place is Nem’s opponent right? Who is it?”
“ Yes.”
Nem seemed a little nervous even though it was just an announcement.
‘ and’
“Next is Nito’s opponent right?”
“Yeah.”
Toa asked. Contrary to my expectations I hadnt known either of the first two. I had honestly expected one of them to be Saeki or Kida.
‘ Third place: Kenta Saeki.’
……………
“Kenta Saeki, doesnt that kind of have the same form that Nito’s name does?”
Toa had turned to confirm it with me.
Saeki…….
My opponent was Saeki.
“Nito?”
“Ah! Oh, yeah, it sounds similar.”
“Master, your eye is red.”
I immediately tried to hide it with my hands, Nem had sounded anxious.
“Is he a hero?”
Toa was sharp.
“Fishnatica has 19 of the summoned heroes, and from Lord Nitos reaction, there is no doubt that he is one of them.”
Sufilia’s reasoning is quite accurate.
“Nito…. Was this your goal from the beginning?”
Toa looked at me suspiciously.
“….What would happen if Sierra knew?”
“Nito…..”
Nem looked dejected.
“I wont do anything.”
Thats all I said, that was all I could say.
‘ Next we’ll be announcing the representatives for the additional game.’
The announcement and our conversation was overlapping.
“But, I wont allow him to get any honor or Prestige from it.”
‘ Representative Shinya Kyogoku.’
A hero again….wait Kyogoku, did he get summoned with us? I thought he had dropped out? I wasn’t aware that he had been summoned with us, at the time I had been focused on Aries and the others.
With that the announcement ended by saying that the representatives names would be posted on the bulletin board.
“ Do you know the last person as well?”
“No, From his name I can tell that he’s a hero like I am but I don’t really know him.”
“What do you mean by Honor?”
Toa was still suspicious.
“I wont kill him, but I wont allow his reputation to grow. I am the only one allowed to be a hero.”
Toa stared straight into my eyes as if she hadnt heard me.
“I see…..”
She didn’t sound convinced.
“I just want to check how strong they are. How strong are the ones who made fun of me and abandoned me as soon as we’d come here? There shouldnt be any punishment right?”
“Punishment?”
“What? Is that way of thinking foreign to this world? Theres no reason to blame them right? Theyre real heroes unlike me so of course they should be stronger than me right? I have to become stronger from now on as well.”
" "“Nito, You understand-”
“I understand, I’m honest.”
Why is Toa so suspicious of me? Isn’t it ok to at least do this much?
“I’m serious, as long as it doesn’t ruin this life you can have whatever you want.”
“I.. Wont scorn you, I trust you.”
“Really?”
“Huh?”
“Do you really believe me?”
Toa turned away or a moment then turned back and looked into my eyes again.
“I trust you, since the time that you first appeared in front of me.”
“ Lord Nito, No matter what decision you make I will follow you until I die.”
“Nem too.”
There was no Suspicion of contempt in Toa like I thought there had been although she seems to be worried about something.
“Toa, dont worry, I wont break anything without reason.”
‘I will be performing teleportation magic.’
Another announcement was made, this time it was the principals voice.
“What?”
“The teacher said this before right? That two days before the tournament the entire school would be teleported.”
“What? Where?”
“Next to Fishnatica.”
What? I didn’t hear anything about this.
“Next to it? The entire school?”
“Yeah?”
“Then I wont be able to go to Qatar?”
“Qatar? Did you have something you needed to do there?”
“Not really but..”
I would have liked there to be a bar or something nearby though.
“The academy will be teleported but the main gate will be left behind, so you can return at anytime by going through the gate.”
So basically whats shes saying is that even though we are teleporting there will be a way to reach us. Ichijo is supposed to be coming to Halekuwait but even the thought that I could avoid him for a few more days by teleporting was thwarted by leaving that stupid gate behind.
Also I probably should have confirmed why he wanted to come, was it to see the other heroes?
“Teleporting now.”
After that announcement I felt a slight weightless feeling in my stomach, it seems like we were being teleported next to Fishnatica that very instant.
