Oswald and Braums suddenly tried to do a cowardly attack from behind Cassandra.
“《White Thunder Tiger》”
A blue light in the shape of a tiger appeared in Braums hands.
“《Elemental Exorcism》”
While green water seemed to cover the tip of Oswalds blue spear.
The two mages approached quickly but in the next moment Cassandra who had been kneeling disappeared and reappeared behind them both.
“”What!””
The two were surprised when the felt her magic power behind them.
“For the likes of a human to look down on me…… 《Twin purple lightning ball》”
" "Two large purple lightning balls appeared in Cassandras hands and she slammed them into the back of the two mages.
“”Guowaaaaaa!””
While the two of them were writhing on the ground Cassandra hits them while I evacuated with Toa to avoid the damage that was coming. Immediately after we evacuated a large crater appeared in the ground with Braums and Oswald at its center.
“《Flame dance》!”
Saeki was upset by the outcome and fired three flames towards Cassandra’s back. They twisted into a spiral and then all hit Cassandra at the same time.
“Gyahahahahahaha! I did it! I killed the!…..”
Saeki started to laugh like some kind of mad man but Cassandra who was supposed to have been on fire, extinguished the flames like she was putting out a candle.
“As expected of the demon queen, she’s out of the human’s league.”
Muttering this I used god speed and delivered a simple kick to her upper body sinding her flying out of the crater and bouncing across the ground.
“Hahahahaha! Now you know what the difference between you and I is!”
I was saying this to Saeki who was looking down into the crater as well as to the two so called great mages that were on the ground at my feet. They didn’t have to experience the hardships that I had too. I might have gotten something special but they were special from the beginning. A sage, a sorcerer and a senior knight right? Oh well, I don’t care about that now.
“I can laugh at your childish magic right?”
I looked up at Saeki who seemed to be shaking at the top of the crater.
“If you’re incompetent then act like it and at least treat these to you piece of crap!”
After saying that I walked out of the crater and over to Cassandra who had blood on her mouth. She was trying to get up bet every time she stood her legs would shake and she would fall. I intended to give her a little kick when I came over but it seems like she had already sustained a heavy amount of damage.
“Toa, what do we do?”
I checked with Toa again. I feel sick, I don’t know what this person did to Toa but I don’t have any resentment towards her myself in fact I think demons are wonderful. Despite that I hurt her, because of this something feels heavy inside my chest and the area around my eyes was hot. I used to imagine myself as a hero storming the demon castle but during our fight instead of killing him or her I would stop and we would become friends. That’s always been what kind of existence they are for me.
“I really don’t want to kill her…..”
While I was thinking that Toa walked up to Cassandra holding the snake sword. Cassandra looked at me and then Toa before she stopped trying to get up and just kneeled. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as Toa stopped in front of her.
“Toa….”
For a while Toa said nothing, just staring at Cassandra’s face as if she was watching her. I was worried that even though the snake sword is considered a legendary weapon that it might not actually be enough to kill Cassandra. So I reached out and touched the sword inverting it into a large white scythe, its blade showing a reflection of the ground.
“With this you’ll be able to finish it in a single blow…. Its up to Toa to choose.”
I told Toa this and she grabbed the scythe with both hands letting the blade hang near Cassandra’s neck.
“Totalica, it wasn’t me.”
Cassandra said the same thing as before but I don’t know what she means by this.
“The one who did it was Ignotus. But, I am not unrelated, I can admit that.”
Cassandra seemed to be complaining to Toa but she wasn’t listening. Toa just stared at the blade of the scythe, I don’t know what she is thinking about right now.
Nem and sufilia appeared near us, apparently they had been watching the situation from a distance.
“Toa….Are you going to kill her?”
Nem asked.
“That isn’t like Toa!”
Nem was urging Toa to stop while Sufilia stared at her silently. But at that time.
“……..”
I see……
Cassandra’s head flew off as blood sprayed into the sky.
That was Toa’s answer.
Was it like this when I killed Kyogoku? No, I don’t think so, although the original Toa may have wanted me to stop I don’t think it felt this sad. The emotions involved were not this complex. Even though I said this, the two near me looked sad. The battle may have been finished but could we consider it a win?

I felt like it was the natural thing to say while looking at their faces. While the two were both sad it seemed like Nem was sad because of what I and Toa did while Sufilia was just sad because I was sad. What was I doing, where was I heading? Then I remembered the last words that the future me said.

I felt like I understood what that meant for a moment. I could hear it playing over and over in my head like my ears were ringing. But I can’t worry the two that I’m with any more right now so I smiled and pretended that I couldn’t hear it.
