Zhao Zhi walked without a sound. When he entered the room, Ming Zhu had just finished washing her hair with perfumed soap and she was now lying on the soft couch while Biying was wiping her hair.

She was holding a book in her hand and couldn’t continue reading it anymore after two lines, she said, “Biying, open the window and just let my hair dry in the sun, that will be enough.”

Biying listened to her words and opened the window fan, letting her soft hair bask under the slanting sun rays. Earlier, she found it was too hot and stuffy in the room and thus she had removed her outer garment and was now only wearing a thin and see-through dress which was crossed on the chest and was sliding on her waistline, which was graceful and could be held in a two hands. Her figure looked soft and slender.

When Zhao Zhi walked up to her, she froze for a few seconds, before rushing to get up with her hands and knees.

Her expression was a little frantic, “How come you’re here again today ?”

Zhao Zhi stared at her fixedly and asked back, “I can’t come?”

Ming Zhu nodded in her heart, but she didn’t dare to say the words out loud. She raised her hands to fix her lapel and hair. Lowering her head, she found that what she was wearing now wasn’t very proper. She was about to ask Biying to go bring her clothes over, but she was nowhere to be seen in the room.

Zhao Zhi silently pulled her to himself and tied her belt for her, ” I came to see you.”

When she heard this, Ming Zhu couldn’t help but lower her head.

Zhao Zhi suddenly took out a box of rouge from his sleeve, and said in a low voice, ” Raise your head.”

Ming Zhu raised her face in confusion, and the next second, he gently held her chin as his eyes stared straight at her lips.

Ming Zhu struggled a little.

Zhao Zhi said in a calm voice: “Don’t move.”

He opened the rouge box, and his fingertips smeared rouge on her lips, with a pressure that wasn’t too light nor too heavy.

Ming Zhu was so nervous that she started clenching her fingers.

Zhao Zhi’s fingertips were very cold, he made one move after another, without making it painful for her.

After smearing the rouge with interest, he stared with satisfaction at her red-colored and wet lips and asked, “You went out the other day?”

Ming Zhu’s countenance turned pale and she lowered her eyes as she inquired in a soft voice, “Did you order someone to follow me?”

She didn’t bother to lie to him. She was fully aware that since he asked, he knew something to a certain degree.

Her voice was nearly inaudible, her tone wasn’t carrying the fear of him being angry but something that was harder to ignore, more alike disappointment and sadness.

She seemed like a sparrow in a cage with broken wings which fell into his grasp.

Ming Zhu looked up at him, the man in front of her lowered his face, the light and shadow evenly scattered on his beautiful features, the corners of his lips held a faint chill, adding a few degrees of oppression.

Zhao Zhi stared at her lips for a while before his gaze slowly moved up and fell into a pair of wet eyes, full of water. Seeing the sadness deep in her eyes, he appeared as if he couldn’t bear it, “I didn’t order anyone to follow you.”

Ming Zhu couldn’t help but sigh with relief.

She wasn’t followed, that was good news. If her trip to the pawn store had been exposed, it would have been a disaster.

Ming Zhu allowed the man to fiddle with the rouge on her lips, her ears turned soft from his movements, her cheeks looked delicate and exuded shyness. She clutched her sleeves, raised her eyes to look at him and asked, “Then how did you know I went out that day?”

Who snitched on her? Biying?

No, that couldn’t be, Biying also didn’t notice her sneaking out of the residence that day.

Zhao Zhi relaxed his eyebrows and wrapped one hand around her waist, the warmth of his palm spread through the thin clothing on her skin. Hooking his finger bones around her waist with a little force, he held her waist against his body.

Ming Zhu was a little embarrassed, her ears turned red and she turned her face away, not daring to look at him.

Zhao Zhi’s actions were very natural. He had always been unrestrained in the bedroom, not looking at all like the proper and dignified gentleman he appeared to be. The man lowered his head to get closer to her and then bit her soft lips, tasting the rouge on her lips little by little.

Ming Zhu stumbled backwards by a few steps and hit the table behind her, fortunately his hand was shielding her, so she didn’t hit the corner of the table.

She really didn’t understand why Zhao Zhi had this kind of weird fetish.

Ming Zhu’s cheeks were burning as water gathered in the corners of her eyes.

After Zhao Zhi had kissed her enough to full his fill, he raised his head and slowly explained: “You were seen by Zhang Hui coincidentally when you came back.”

Ming Zhu knew that Zhang Hui was Zhao Zhi’s trusted confidant, and she heard that his martial arts skills were excellent.

“Oh.”

“You even wore men’s clothes?”

Ming Zhu’s heart tensed, she showed a cheerful expression as she said, “That’s more convenient when going out.”

Zhao Zhi didn’t blame her, but only instructed her, “Next time you go out, remember to tell me in advance, it’s not safe outside, bring a few more people with you.”

It was smarter to go along with him at times like this, and thus Ming Zhu agreed and answered, “Alright.”

In the imperial city, every street had guards that led security checks, how could it be unsafe? It was just a pretext that Zhao Zhi used because he didn’t want her to go out.
