“The Night Elves’ civilization is rapidly fading. The only survivors among the Night Elves are the children who appeared during the day.”

The Elf King then turned to face the care-free dancing Night Elves in the clearing.

The emerald green eyes were tinged with helplessness. He extended his hand to the Night Elves and said, “That is the happiest day for the Night Elves; the Forest Princess’s birthday. Everyone sings and dances every year at this time to thank the forest for its gifts and to offer their blessings to the forest princess.”

“The Night Elves are the most beautiful race in this continent, they will be in great pain if they find themselves looking ugly. In the face of the disease, I am powerless as their king.” The only thing I can do is make them feel better.”

“Such nights have been going on for a long time. I am the only one awake, and they will forget,” the Elf King said, pointing to an elf maiden “She will soon fall down because she stepped on a stone, and this way, she will meet a handsome Night Elf boy and they will quickly fall in love. If it wasn’t for this sudden illness, the two of them would have been married and had children.”

Bai Lixin looked at this lonely and helpless elf king and felt a little emotional.

At first, he assumed that the other party was arrogant and prejudiced against foreigners.

Only now did he realize it was a helpless compromise. He could only lay flat against the outcome of everything that had long been shaped.

The other side may not be a gentleman, but he was a king.

Bai Lixin: “When did the disease first appear?”

Elf King: “Five or six years ago, I think.”

Bai Lixin thought about it, and pulled out a sketch of a human face from his pocket. This was a sketch of Zhou Guang. In order to facilitate his search of the other party’s whereabouts, he made this during the six hours of preparation before entering the copy.

“May I ask if you have seen this person?” Bai Lixin took out the sketch paper and gave it to the Elf King.

The Elf King stared at the sketch for several seconds before nodding gently, “I have some impression of him. He’s a human magician, who arrived with three or four other human magicians.”

“He first appeared about three years ago, but it wasn’t until five years ago that human magicians began to arrive in search of our race’s hidden treasure. I agreed to give them the secret treasure if the Forest Princess was cured during the first two years.”

“However, they broke their promise.” The Elf King tapped Bai Lixin sketch with a sharp fingernail, “It was also from them that I used my magic to sign a contract with them.”

“However, they did not keep their end of the bargain.”

Bai Lixin was not surprised by this result. If Zhou Guang had succeeded, he would not have turned into a zombie and appeared in the immortal king’s dungeon.

The Elf King said humans came every year, so players appeared once a year in the Sibi continent.

The passage of time and space varies in different realms. Although it had only been a few days in the game hall, three years had passed in this world.

It is no surprise that the decay on Zhou Guang’s body was so severe.

Normally, the body only begins to stink a few days after death.

Elf King: “You know him? What kind of person is he to you?”

Bai Lixin: “He is my friend.”

The Elf King’s eyes stared blankly for two seconds, “I’m sorry.”

Bai Lixin waved his hand, “Do you know the cause of the disease? Only those few Night Elves are safe. Did they take something, or was it some other reason? “What have you discovered in the last few years?”

The Elf King pondered for two seconds, sizing Bai Lixin and was debating whether to tell Bai Lixin what he knew.

“Trust me,” Bai Lixin casually stroked the soft fur of the wolf cub in his hand and said with certainty, “”if I can’t help you, no one in this world can. Once the dream bubble bursts, you should know what your people will face if you keep living in falsehood, right?”

The elf king gritted his teeth and pointed in a direction, “I asked those Night Elves and they all did the same thing before. They went to the Dark magic swamp, which is deep in the forest.”

Bai Lixin: “The Dark Magic Swamp?”

Elf King: “It is filled with darkness and danger, and in the deepest part of the swamp is a powerful seal. It is said to have sealed a power capable of destroying the world so it has been prohibited. I tortured the Night Elves who did not contract the disease because I wanted to know what they encountered in the dark swamp, but they remembered nothing.”

“They only remembered being there; they had completely forgotten what they encountered.”

“I still have a little magic in my body but my soul is trapped like the other Night Elves, so I can’t go there myself. I asked them to go there but they never found the entrance to the Dark Magic Swamp again.”

Bai Lixin: “Why can’t they find the entrance anymore?”

Elf King: “The Dark Magic Swamp is covered with a fog all year round, and once a person enters it, he or she will be lost. One cannot enter it whenever they want, or, more precisely, most people cannot enter. If you want to take your chances, I can get a few Night Elves to show you the way.”

“Hold out your hand,” the elf king’s emerald gaze fell on Bai Lixin’s shackled arm.

Bai Lixin held out his arm, revealing the wrist imprinted with the shackles and the countdown timer.

The Elf King’s icy fingertips landed on Bai Lixin’s wrist, and with a slight click, the time on the countdown grew rapidly, extending to four days in the blink of an eye.

“You are right,” the Elven King, “you may be our last hope. You are the magician with the fewest intentions that I have ever met. I am willing to bet the future of the Night Elves and trust a magician one last time.”

“It would take more than two days to travel to the Dark Magic Swamp, but this is the most time I can give you. Unfortunately, I used the strongest contract possible, and it cannot be broken unless the contract’s conditions are met.”

He kept his gaze fixed on the beautiful young man in front of him as he spoke, attempting to read the other party’s emotions through his expression.

But, unfortunately, the other party was the same as the first time they met; he wasn’t angry or uncomfortable because he was suddenly tied to the contract, nor was he overjoyed because the time had been increased.

He always wore a light expression. He looked very young,He appeared young, but the calmness he exuded belied his age.

Bai Lixin retracted his arm and said, “Okay, I will head to the Dark Magic Swamp tomorrow at dawn and take a look.”

—————–

Bai Lixin had a dream that night.

Initially, there was darkness in the dream, but gradually, a green bud took root and sprouted. With the green sprout as center, the darkness was quickly replaced by a vibrant greenness and vitality.

There was a beautiful green-haired girl crying among the greenness.

She stood in front of the cave he had explored earlier in the day, letting her long, willowy hair fall down to cover her face, allowing Bai Lixin to see only the crystal teardrops falling down the girl’s delicate chin.

The Night Elves wailed in agony within the cave, and their diseased bodies caused them to roll all over the place.

The young girl’s tears that fell to the ground quickly turned into a spring. Pain instantly subsided when all of the Night Elves soaked themselves in the spring.

The spring water washed over the diseased bodies of the Night Elves, contaminating it.

The contaminated water soon flowed down and mixed with the remaining spring water

The godess immediately faded into the forest and she absorbed most of the toxins with her body ……

—— “Save them.”

—— “Save this forest.”

—— “I’m almost at my limit.”
