Chapter 67 : Furniture Store

“Now that we’ve finished registering for the quests, let’s check out the bed we talked about yesterday~ I’m sure they can do house delivery so let’s buy the biggest one we can get!~”
Chris-san said with a bright smile as he held my hand. After we had registered the quests, we decided to go to the furniture store. Chris-san took my hand into his as we walked out of the guild.
“I hope we can find a good one for us.”
I wonder how big a bed that could hold four people simultaneously… To begin with, the single bed in Malik-san’s house that I used was really big too. The sizing on Alsar couldn’t be compared to the sizing on Earth. Though, if you put the average height in Alsar into consideration, it made sense for their sizing to be bigger than Earth.
“I hope so too.”
“Well the house is already furnished anyway. We can go to the furniture shop again when our house is finished.”
Sig-san said.
“Yes.”
We didn’t rent the house for a long period of time. The house could be rented for a short period of time too. You could say this was like the monthly rental type back in Japan. The house was already fully furnished too so we could just live there right away.
“Ah, by the way, you guys said you’ve already paid one month’s worth of rent in advance in the guild, right? But if you’re going to move there on the 1th of July then that means you guys are only going to stay in the guild for one week?”
Could they get a refund? I didn’t know the rate for the guild’s inn but I heard it was more expensive than the other ordinary inn in town. It’d be a waste of money if they still had to pay for one month instead of one week.
“Yeah, well… I didn’t expect we’d decide on a rental house this quickly. I had thought since we’re going to make Pedrell as our base, it’d be better to just go ahead with it… We also got a discounted rate since we paid for one month in advance. Oh, Nora said if we’re going to check out early, she will give us a refund but she will revert our rate back to normal rate.”
“Ah, I see!”
Sig-san, who was walking behind me, explained to me in detail. Thankfully the money they paid wouldn’t go to waste! No matter how high their income as an A-ranked adventurer,, we still shouldn’t waste money.
I turned my back to Sig-san and smiled at Sig-san’s explanation.
“Ren, you’re not lacking in money but you’re pretty firm on these kinds of things, huh.”
Sig-san looked surprised before he roughly stroked my head. He was being too rough, I think I heard a crackling sound because of how hard he stroked me.
“I-I only smiled, why did you look so surprised?! More importantly, you’re stroking my head too hard! My hair is all messy now…”
“That’s right. Sig. Unlike us, Ren-kun is small and fragile. Please be careful with your strength when you touch him, alright?”
“That’s because I was just too shocked…”
Fer-san, who was standing diagonally behind me, gently fixed my hair. I’m (more or less) an adult and a man to boot so I couldn’t think of the word ‘cute’ as a compliment. In addition, being called small and fragile actually made me feel a little upset. But I guess that’s what I look like from the perspective of the people in Alsar…
Which reminded me since I looked like a child for them, did that mean these three were lolicon? Shotacon? That couldn’t be it… Right…?
Chris-san used to have a thing with Gianna-san so I guess Chris-san didn’t have that kind of inclination. I didn’t know about the other two but if I asked and then admitted it, I wouldn’t be able to look at them the same anymore. I think it’d be better if I didn’t ask them to begin with.
“Ah~ I heard from the staff in the guild that the furniture shop over there is pretty good~ They can also deliver it to our house~”
While we walked, Chris-san pointed at a big building down the road. That must be the furniture shop they were talking about. I hope we can find what we were looking for there.

I wonder whether all the furniture shops in Alsar were like this. There were many beds of various sizes lined up in the store. From a single sized bed to a bed so big that it made me wonder just how many people could lay down there at the same time?!
Among all the beds, we finally were able to decide which one to buy after literally lying down on each and every one of them to check the comfort. And for some reason the old man managing the store said he’d deliver a night table for us as a freebie.
The old man also just wouldn’t stop grinning as he stared at me but I sincerely hoped it was just my imagination…..
I know it wouldn’t be proper to say this myself but I was sure Fer-san and the others considered me to be as cute as an idol because of their own bias. After all, the three of them loved me. Of course I’d look cute in their eyes…..
“How about if we grab a bite for lunch soon?”
Sig-san said while rubbing his grumbling stomach.
“Yeah… Oh! I want to go to Eva-san’s place!”
I glanced at my watch, it was already past twelve a.m.
Yesterday, I went to Eva-san’s place to pour my heart out and not long after that, I made her watch me doing something embarrassing in her own restaurant… I should go to her place to apologize…
I felt like I had really made her tangled up in my lover’s quarrel.
“Oh, sounds good! Her place is close to here too. Let’s go!”
“Ren-kun’s homemade meal is delicious but it’s nice to eat food made by other people once in a while.”
I do agree the food made by other people tasted delicious as well but my main mission was not to get a meal but to apologize… Well I guess either way was fine.
Actually I still felt embarrassed to see Eva-san since I had kissed Sig-san right in front of her but… I didn’t want to just let that incident be like that!
Though to be fair, it seemed the people in here didn’t feel any shame showing public displays of affection so openly like that. I often saw couples kissing in public nonchalantly and other people didn’t seem bothered either. You could say the people in here were similar to European or western people in that sense. .
Physically speaking, the people here naturally had a flashy hair color too. From blonde, silver and some even had pink and red hair. Their faces were also deeply chiseled so I guess generally speaking even their physical appearance resembled western people.
Eva-san and Sig-san didn’t seem bothered by the kiss either…
“Now that we’ve decided to go to Eva’s place, let’s head there now. Ren, would you hold hands with me this time?”
Sig-san outstretched his hand to me which I accepted without a fuss. As I stared at our intertwined hands, I decided to ask the thing that had been bothering me since a while ago.
“Umm… I’ve been thinking about this for a while… I… Why do I have to hold hands with either one of you everytime we walk?”
“Hm? Because we want to be connected to you. Is there any other reason than that? Do you not like it, Ren?”
“No, that’s not it… I was just curious. I don’t hate it at all.”
Huh? The reason was that simple? I thought they were afraid I’d get lost…!
“Fufu~ Compared to us who are trained with swordsmanship, Ren-chan’s hand is so soft and smooth. It feels good to hold hands with you~”
“Well… If you put it that way, that might be true but I’m still a man so I don’t think my hands are that soft, you know?”
When I held hands with the three of them, I could feel the calluses on their hands. It was to be expected since they were all swordsmen. But the calluses didn’t make me uncomfortable at all. Rather, I felt happy holding hands with them since I could feel the result of all the hard work they’ve done.
“It’s also to keep other people in check.”

“Yes. Holding hands with Ren-kun also gives a silent signal that says Ren-kun belongs to us and henceforth, if you want to get close to him, you have to go through all of us first.”

There was no need to keep other people in check FOR ME!

Feeling upset because of the possibility of a new mistress, I mumbled to myself.

I bowed my head to apologize earnestly.
Of course. Anyone would hate it if someone were to doubt them. The three of them were obviously madly in love with me. How could they even be interested in other people? I needed to have a strong heart if I were to be the spouse of this popular trio.
“Hmm… Geez~ If you’re feeling anxious then you just have to tell me~ I will always be ready to tell you how much I love you, Ren-chan~”
“Mm… I… I might ask you to do so once in a while then…”
Before I realized it, Sig-san had already released my hand. Chris-san took this opportunity to hug me tight and dropped a kiss on the whorl of my hair.
Would I become more confident if I were to ask them to tell me they liked me from time to time?
“…. You lots… Can you please stop acting all lovey dovey in front of other people’s restaurants? You’re being a major nuisance to my business, you know?”
“Eh? Wha-?! Eva-san?! Eh? T-this is Ken?!”
“You don’t even realize you’re here? If you want to come then come inside quickly.”
I was burying my face beneath Chris-san’s chest when I heard Eva-san’s voice from behind me. I pushed myself away from Chris-san as soon as I realized Eva-san was here. I hadn’t even noticed we had already arrived and I even hugged Chris-san right in front of Ken!
Ahh… I kept on piling shameful things after shameful things…
I obediently followed Eva-san to the restaurant as I brooded to myself.
