The head of our 'kind' adoptive father didn't even get to touch the ground before the red-haired guy had his swords out.
And I was already onto him. His blade clashed with my claws, coming to a standstill. The pig was the one to break it up, lifting a huge club over his head and trying to smash it into me.
I guess their quirks aren't really combating types? Or maybe that's a bit too quick of a judgement to make?
I dashed at the much slower pig. He wasn't fast enough to bring down his club and meet my assault, but the swordsman was.
I decided to take his counterattack, my exoskeleton has taken much worse in the past after all.
But I wasn't expecting his sword to catch fire and the blade to heat up to the point where he scratched my powerful armour...
I guess that's his quirk then. I quickly jumped back, not before taking a good swing at the pig whilst the swordsman was still trying his best to dig into my sides.
Then came the next unexpected thing. The fat man rushed me, with a burst of speed far greater than my own. He smashed me through the wall of the warehouse with his belly.
"Hahaha! That's what you get brat!" Taunted the Pig.
"Hey, let's pick one of these kids as meatshields!" Said the swordsman. As he started heading their way.
Fucking bastard...
__________ POV Narration__________
The children were all trembling on the ground too afraid of the sounds around them to open their eyes.
The red-haired swordsman was blocked by a piece of metal thrown his way. Beru walked back in. Wiping his mouth with his claw.
"I~Am~RuSty..." Spoke the monstrous insectoid. As the words left his mouth. As the clothes barely covering the fat man's belly. Were shredded.
His eyes widened as he looked down, only to see his guts spilling onto the ground. He quickly followed them, as Beru licked his bloody claw.
He had always been an opportunistic person. Seeing the fat man present his stomach to him in that way would obviously be appetizing to him.
It gave him a perfect opportunity to gut the pig alive. Something he hadn't done to someone in ages. This was also the first time he did it with his claws.
The red-haired swordsman looked on in horror as his companion fell to the ground. What he didn't expect, was his insect-like opponent to gain a sudden burst in movement.
One that greatly reminded him of his fat comrades' quirk, 'Sudden Acceleration' which enhanced the user's speed twofold for the duration of 5 minutes.
The cost was in calories, and it could only be used once every 24 hours. It wasn't an extremely powerful quirk, but it was still noticeable.
The red-haired swordsman could barely bring his sword up to block the incoming swipe, and it still dug into his side.
He didn't even get to use his quirk at all, 'Fiery Aspect' which allowed him to cover his body or things he touched in flames.
The only problem with it was that he couldn't handle his own heat all that well. The quirk didn't raise his heat resistance at all.
The red-haired man's blood splattered onto Beru's claws and a bit on his face. He instinctively licked it up.
After a few seconds of being in a stalemate.
Beru's claws caught fire and melted through the man's sword. Cutting him in half in the process and burning his wound closed as well.
Beru stopped and looked at his claws as they seemed to release some steam after the fire died down.
He blinked a bit and looked down at what remained of his opponent. He tilted his head, seeing that the man was somehow still alive.
"P-please... save m-" Whatever sympathy he was trying to gain. He wasn't going to be receiving any.
Beru crushed his head underneath his clawed foot. He wasn't even able to finish pleading for his life.
The insectoid knew all too well how people like the swordsman behaved after being spared. Besides, the man was already as good as dead.
Beru felt it was better to rip it off like a bandaid than to prolong the red-haired man's suffering.
Out of the three, only the pig was somehow still alive. But he was also not going to survive. He was gutted alive, even if he was in a hospital, he'd have extremely low chances of survival.
Beru looked at all three of his aggressors. Musing how exactly he should explain this to children.
In the end, he decided it would be best to at least cover some parts up. Beru put them all cleanly together on the ground and used their own jackets to cover up the worst of the injuries.
Although the fat man was almost impossible to cover up. Still, he did his best.
"Children... All of you should turn around and leave~ Keep your eyes closed~" He was shocked by his own voice, the clarity was something he needed to get used to now.
Some distortion was still present, but he could now speak full sentences without any problem.
It seemed like his quirk was a lot more than he had theorised.
After all, he had just used two different quirks after ingesting just a bit of blood from their original users.
He had a lot of thinking to do. What he didn't expect was for someone to be waiting at the door.
A tall man wearing a classy suit. His body was filled with muscles and his hair was white. He slowly clapped his hands.
"Marvelous show... To think something so interesting would show up right on my doorstep..." He smiled as he leaned onto the van that had brought the children to the warehouse.
'That should be the leader...' Thought Beru as he eyed the man cautiously.
