Chapter 146: Mother Will Leave You Now

In the Greater Heaven on a dry land covered in sparkling soil.
A man draped in luxurious clothes and cape on his back with a simple chest plate and normal armour on his body bowed with his head touching the ground.
In front of him, a man with a serene expression with sapphires like eyes and blue-hairs stood with a calm smile on his face.
The man bowing on the ground was offering something which was in a White Wooden box, by the looks of it the box itself seemed one of the most luxurious items of the Greater Heaven.
Ye Qian, the man draped in white silk robes sighed and opened the box and turned to the woman and her child
"You know this is a treasure for cultivators who have not embarked on the path of cultivation yet."
He said and waved his hand at the bowing man indicating him to stand up.
"Thanks a lot, Venerable, the Feather Heaven Dynasty will always be grateful to you."
Saying that he brought both hands and greeted him while walking away with a look of envy on his face as he glanced at the mother and son duo but he soon sighed and walked away.
The hundreds or so soldiers who arrived with him also walked behind him after greeting Ye Qian.
Ye Qian nodded and waved his hand at them.
He turned back to the mother-son duo and saw that their eyes were shining.
"But the problem is that the fruit has to be eaten whole, or the person who eats will suffer cultivation deviation later."
Hearing him the two glanced at each other and the mother smiled at the son while saying.
"Fei'er, mother doesn't have much use for the fruit its better you eat it and become a strong immortal, and be a nice man in the future, mother has no more wish but to see you get better from the Sky."
The lady said while tears coursed down her cheeks after hearing Ye Qian's words.
"No, Great Venerable, if you give this fruit to my mother then I will forever be indebted to you and will do anything you tell me to. Even if it's dying."
The small boy shook his head with strength and said to Ye Qian with his eyes full of determination.
"Hmm."
Ye Qian nodded and smiled at them.
He waved his hand and the box with the fruit vanished.
The lady's face turned dejected, she understood the man in front of them wanted to play with them for his entertainment, first, he gave them hope, then he took it back.
She had no wish of leaving a long life or as an immortal, all she wanted was for her child to have a happy and prosperous life.
With the wave of his hand, Ye Qian smiled and crouched down to the small boy and smiled while placing his hand on his head.
"You are a great child, I believe you will become a great warrior conquering worlds and having a long life with your mother and family."
As he said his eyes shone with intense blue light as if a star was shining in them.
The lady was shocked to see the scene and didn't know what was going on she was a mortal after all and the tricks of immortals was never a mortal would ever understand unless they cultivated.
She saw the blue light in the Immortals eyes dimmed and the surrounding starlight travelled through the sky and formed a layer of mist around her son and entered his body.
This was not she could ever understand.
So she could only stare at the scene with her wide eyes only hoping that whatsoever the Immortal did to her son was not something that would harm him.
After a few moments the mist cleared out and she saw her son was draped in some expensive clothes which were the same as that of the Great Immortal was wearing.
She didn't know if she should be grateful to him or cry.
She finally let go of the grief that she was soon going to die and walked to her son.
As soon as he saw her the boy called his mother and ran into her embrace.
"Mother."
But he was not able to since the sudden increase in cultivation made his usual habits seem like he was learning to walk like a toddler.
"Fei'er, mother is really happy, finally now you are a cultivator, don't forget what mother told you when I leave this world, alright?"
She said and hugged her child thinking this was the final time she would ever be able to see her son.
Tears of joy and grief both came out of her eyes thinking that she was going to let her son live alone but she was also happy that he could not cultivate and live a proper life.
Whit the mother-son duo was in each other's embrace Ye Qian smiled at them from the side.
He could understand what the woman was thinking but he would not let her die.
"SIGH"
He sighed to get their attention.
The lady dropped to her knees and bowed.
"Great Venerable, this mortal is grateful from my very being for taking my son under shelter, this mortal who is about to die won't be able to give you anything and can only ask you to do me one more favour, that is to take care of my son after I leave this world."
The lady said while bowing down while banging her head on the soil but still the tears couldn't stop dripping from her eyes as she spoke.
She then lifted her head and glanced at her son who was sobbing.
"Fei'er from now you must stay with the Great Venerable and don't ever make it difficult for him to help you, promise mother so that I can leave in peace."
She said with a look of love and worry in her eyes.
