Chapter 174: This Old Lady Got So Much Work To Do?

In the kitchen, Ye Qian gently blew cool air on Ning Wei's eyes as she felt the itchiness going away.
"Are you fine now?"
He asked as he carefully took her hairs sticking to her cheek and moved them behind.
"Hmm."
Ning Wei nodded with a contented smile.
After that Ye Qian wiped the sweat off her head and turned to Yuan Meng.
"How are you guys working with so much sweat? Cant, you just switch the fan on for a while?"
He said as he tucked her hairs which were sticking to her lips and eyes behind her ears.
"Hehe, Mom, said that she will be making your favourite dish with these vegetables so we wanted everything to be perfect."
Yuan Meng giggled and pecked him on the cheek.
"Are you acting spoiled again, Mom is right in front of us."
Ye Qian whispered as he turned around and saw that Grandma Yan was having her back at them, but he knew that this didn't go unnoticed from her.
"Hehe, you don't have to worry about Mom."
Yuan Meng smiled playfully.
"Thank you, by the way, now let me go back to work, I want to learn this recipe so that I would be able to make it for you later."
Saying that Yuan Meng winked at him and turned around while continuing to chop the vegetables finely.
"Huh."
He turned to Ning Wei only to see that she had also started to cut the chillies and carrots by then.
Ye Qian shook his head.
Ye Qian didn't know if he should laugh or cry, but he still felt warm in his heart, the two ladies were working so hard and focused that they didn't care for themselves and just to make something he liked.
He finally understood that even if you don't stay with someone for long enough or you weren't staying with the person you loved for a long time they would still love you nonetheless even if you changed.
He then glanced at his mother who was also standing at the stove and walked to her.
"Mom, let me do this you sit on the table for some time, see you are sweating so much."
Ye Qian pulled her to the side and took the strainer from her hand and said as he wiped her sweat off.
By now almost all her hairs were wet due to the steam which was released due to the boiling of water and the sweat.
"Little Qi, let me do it, you don't know how to make them properly and you will burn yourself."
Grandma Yan shook her head and tried to take the strainer from him.
"No mom, didn't I say you were only going to help me, now that I have brought the things to let me do this, and don't worry, I won't be betting any burn."
Saying that he placed the strainer on the board and pushed Grandma Yan to the table and made her sit.
"Sit here properly and see how your son makes food for you."
He knew that his mom won't listen to him unless he forced her to.
"Ok fine, but I won't allow anyone of you to make the Vegetable Stir Fry."
"Yes, no one will stop you from making your special Vegetable Stir Fry, we will just look at how you make it."
Ye Qian rolled his eyes and made her sit.
"Pftt"

Noticing the scene in front of them the two ladies burst out laughing.
"What are you two girls laughing about, come give me some garlic, I will peel those till then, hush, this old lady has been forced to do so much work."
Grandma Yan said and then took a few garlic cloves and started to peel them.
The ladies were taken aback by her words which were completely opposite from her actions and turned to each other with raised brows.
Even Yuan Meng didn't know about Grandma Yan's this kind of behaviour.
Finally, they turned to Ye Qian who was busy taking out the meat and other stuff off the bags.
He gave a light smile and shook his head, knowing why they were looking at him.
"What now, you two don't want to work now that your husband is back?"
Grandma Yan had her head down but she said as she peeled the garlic in her hand.
"Huh."
Yuan Meng and Ning Wei quickly went back to work but Ning Wei had her face flushed.
That was because what Grandma Yan said indicated something else to her.
She could believe it at first but then she remembered how Grandma Yan had been treating her till now and a sweet feeling arose in her heart.
'Even if you won't recognize me, I still know that I have some place in your heart.'
She glanced at Ye Qian's back and thought.
Meanwhile, Ye Qian took the meat, bones and other things and started to make soup in the biggest vessel he could find in the kitchen.
It was a large stockpot with a capacity of 30 litres.
Grandma Yan's eyes widened as she saw the amount of meat and other stuff that Ye Qian was going to use and she stood up as she saw the pot which Ye Qian had taken put to cook.
"Little Qi, we are making food for only 10 or so people, we are not making it for 30 or more, my child."
Now she completely believed there was something wrong here, who would make so much that would be so much of a waste.
"No Mom, it's fine, even this much won't be enough for everyone to fill their stomachs."
Saying that he started to roast the spiced and meat in the pot and then added the vegetables which were already chopped by Yuan Meng and Ning Wei.
Yuan Meng was already there yesterday so she knew what vegetables needed to make the soup, and with the fresh veggies brought by Ye Qian's parents, the taste of the soup would be even more delicious.
