Chapter 177: Dinner Preparations

"Do my little girls want Egg Rolls?"
While Little Qiqi and Little Jia had their heads down feeling hungry they heard their Papa's voice.
"Huh."
"Papa, Qiqi and Big Sister are hungry."
Little Qiqi looked at Ye Qian with puppy eyes while rubbing her tiny belly with puppy eyes.
But this time she was not acting though, one could clearly notice that she was hungry.
Ye Qian's heart ached to see their faces and thought of not playing with them.
He got his hand holding the plate and brought it in front.
"You two eat this till then I will make special food for my little girls."
Ye Qian smiled and placed it on the couch in between them and caressed their heads.
"Yes, Papa."
The two nodded in unison as a bright smile appeared on their sad faces as Ye Qian placed the plate in front of them.
Ye Qian's heart felt at ease after seeing them taking one each and blowing air some air.
But the girls were not eating themselves.
He saw that after they blew it a few times, they dipped it in the sauce and brought it in front of each other's mouths.
"Qiqi eat this first."
"Big Sister, you must eat this too."
They said and then took a bite of each other's egg roll and chewed while giggling.
Ye Qian felt warm in his heart after seeing them love each other so much as his eyes turned crescent.
"You two eat them properly, I know this is not enough, just wait for some time the dinner will be ready."
He said as the two ate.
"Hmmm."
The two nodded with a bright smile.
"Now, I will go."
Saying that he stood up and walked back to the kitchen with another energy in him.
Meanwhile, Yu Lan stood up and walked behind him and called out.
"Big Brother."
Ye Qian stopped and turned back at her as she walked to him.
"Can I also help, since I just don't want to be a freeloader?"
She poked her tongue out and spoke in a childish tone.
But there was love in her eyes.
Ye Qian sighed and then extended his head on her head and ruffled her hair with a smile.
"Come in then."
He said and then turned to walk into the kitchen.
While he turned he sighed again and entered not thinking about it again.
Meanwhile, behind him, Yu Lan's eyes shone brightly.
"I knew Big Brother would not say no to me, but why did he sigh?"
Yu Lan mumbled as she hopped into the kitchen while skipping.
She had been wanting to go in for a long time since she saw them laughing and chatting of the three ladies inside, but the most what she wanted was to spend some of the time with Ye Qian.
She had been wanting to go in but didn't dare to since it would not look good, so as Ye Qian came out she quickly wanted to ask him, but seeing him walking to the little girls she stopped herself and stopped from asking then.
As she entered the kitchen saw was baffled to smell the aromatic fragrance lingering in the air.
"Wow, Big Sister really makes some nice food."
She called out as she sat beside them at the table.
Yuan Meng chuckled and then shook her head while pointing at Ye Qian's back.
"Huh really?"
Yu Lan raised her brows in surprise.
To her, the food in the restaurant was tasty because it was already made and they just had to add it, and though she also believed that they ate a lot because Ye Qian did something to the food, she had never thought that her Big Brother Qian could make something so aromatic.
And this was not even till she had tasted it yet and she was still almost drooling up just from its smell.
She nodded with a bright smile and then sat with them talking with them and helping them with some things.
She could make some food but it was not enough to fill her own stomach.
And since the dorms had their food already prepared she didn't need to really waste her time on it.
Besides, she would always study more so she was comparably less resourceful in house and cleaning.
But still, she would always want to learn cooking.
That was why she would spend most of her time at home while trying to help her mother.
While Yu Lan sat with the ladies doing some chores, Ye Qian took the beef which was thinly sliced by them and added some soya sauce, rice wine, sesame oil and salt and kept it aside.
Then he started to make preparations with the Pepper Fry Chicken by adding pepper and soya sauce and cornflour to it and kept it to marinate for some time as well.
He then took out the rice and noodles which were kept in the freezer to make them hard once they would be soggy to use right after cooking.
He placed them to thaw for some time and thought about what he should make, for now, he would of course not be able to use the Spirit Stove technique his mom won't listen for him to leave the kitchen and it might even look somewhat odd to leave her out for some time and then again bringing her back.
And even if he were to make her cook her special Vegetable Stir Fry now it would get completely cooked by the time they got to eat it and it would not taste any better than just chewing some peppers with oil.
So it was to be made at last, and with that, there was Xiao Ya in the guest room, she really needed some food with a high amount of nutrition and energy with all the pain and suffering she had gone through today.
Ye Qian sighed again and decided to first make the Pepper Chicken Fry which he had already decided and then make the Beef Stir Fry that the old man suggested.
