Chapter 221: The Star Close To The Moon

Meanwhile, within the blurry wisps of lames which nearly covered all the surroundings.
Completely unaware of the fact that he had passed a trial which he had not been informed of before Ye Qian continued to walk to the lake.
He was just a few tens or so meters away when the wisps of fire started to form a blurry screen which made him unable to see anything about his surroundings.
Not like there was much there as well.
Ye Qian continued to take his steps to the lake.
It had been no less than a few more seconds when Ye Qian felt the food of fire clearing out while he felt light coming on him.
Ye Qian knew that he was right at the shore of the lake.
He nodded while he placed his toe in the burning hot molten lava.
It was almost the same experience for him as when he had walked through the Gate of Pridid.
All it did was pass through his toe.
But he felt a bit of burning over his toe and then there was nothing.
Ye Qian's lips curved into a simple smile as he started to walk into the lake bed.
With light steps, Ye Qian continued to walk while feeling the burning on his legs increasing with each step he took within the lake.
The lava was by now no more than the level of his waist.
He had taken almost more than 100's steps till now.
All Ye Qian felt was some slight exhaustion with the burning.
He continued to walk but this time he took large strides to increase his pace, since later if he were not able to breathe in the lava he would die from breathlessness and not because his heart was corrupted.
It would still be a joke if he were to die like this.
With his pace increased, he felt some resistance from the lava but that was all.
Ye Qian continued, and soon he had passed almost a third of the lake, while now only his ears and nose were above the level of the lava.
If one were able to see what was under the lava, one would for sure be shocked.
That was because Ye Qian's hard were all burned while most of his skin looked like burned flesh.
But still ignoring the pain, Ye Qian continued since he knew that there was no going back for now, if he stayed for long this would sure burn him away.
"If this is how it works then there would be no one who would have been able to pass the trials."
Ye Qian glanced around as he mumbled.
He didn't think of himself as the purest of all, but he still never had any corrupted thoughts, but now all of his skin was burned to char while he was still a third of what he still had to pass.
This was what made him rethink that this not being a trial, but a way of killing.
But not willing to back off, since there was no choice, Ye Qian continued.
By the time he had been completely drowned, Ye Qian noticed that he could still breathe under.
He had thought he would not be able to breathe and with every step he took, he felt that it would for sure be true, but much out of his expectations things didn't turn out how he had thought them to be.
Ye Qian sighed in relief and glanced at the few whirlpools of lava that were not far away from him.
He could even feel the slight suction on his body while he was still away from them.
Ye Qian carefully took a wide path as to not fall into those whirlpools fearing that he might never be able to come out of any one of them if he were to fall.
Ye Qian carefully took his steps as well.
But by now almost all of his skin was burned away while his tendons and ligaments could be seen under the lava.
Meanwhile, on the outside of the wisps of fire covering the lake from all sides.
The fire figure, namely the 'God', sat with his head resting on his hand as hi's eyes shone with excitement.
"He might be able to pass the trial if he can reach just a few steps."
As he mumbled the small sparrow who was sitting on the ground with tears covering her eyes cheered up as she heard the figure's words.
It seemed like not only did she have a simple heart but could also understand what others were saying.
Who would have thought that this kind of creature would have a high level of intellect?
The small bird's heart felt happy as even her eyes were shining now.
'If he is able to pass the trial then this world would also come to an end and this wisp of my thoughts of mine would also fade away.'
The figure sighed as he glanced around and then looked at the small sparrow who was still staring in the direction of the lake.

Meanwhile, at Ye Qian's house.
Yuan Meng, Ning Wei and Grandma Yan were awake while waiting for Ye Qian to come back as soon as possible.
It had been just 3 or so minutes but for them, it had been like hours had passed.
"Qian'er you have to come back soon, or I will be a lot angry on you."
Yuan Meng mumbled as she walked to the window and glanced at the bright moon which looked no less than a large torch and was surrounded by many clouds giving off a really refreshing feeling.
But Yuan Meng didn't feel so and was in fact feeling even more worried for Ye Qian.
"Sniff..."
She wiped her tears off while continuing to look out at the moon and the star beside it.
Yuan Meng remembered that anytime Little Qiqi wanted to see her Papa, she would point at the star close to the moon.
