Chapter 356: Yuan Meng's Other Side

By the shadow of an old tree near the entrance of the Ziran park.
A woman who looked to be in her mid_20's was standing with her cheeks puffed and a slightly annoyed look on her face.
The people who were passing around were interested to strike a conversation with the beautiful lady.
Of course, no one had seen such a beautiful woman like her.
The woman could have been even considered more beautiful than even those celebrities.
Many men were already eager to strike a conversation with this beauty when they saw a man walking to her.
As soon as the man walked to her the woman's annoyed looked went away like a puff of smoke.
There was a surprise on her face and her lips were curved into an affectionate smile.
"So sweet of you, Qian'er."
The woman grinned and then took a large cotton candy that the man brought.
"Hehe, I just went to bring you some of these."
The man scratched his head but then later chuckled wryly after knowing that he was not able to scratch the back of his because there were a lot of cotton candies in his hand.
Of course, the woman was none other than Yuan Meng and the man, Ye Qian.
The men who wanted to strike a conversation with Yuan Meng sighed and turned to go back to their work.
'How could it be that such a beautiful woman still not have someone she loved?'
That was the only question running in their mind as they gave a self-mocking laugh.
Meanwhile, completely unaware of all this, the lady in the picture, Yuan Meng had just taken the big cotton candy from Ye Qian's hand and started to open it.
"Thank you."
Saying that she once again gave a light peck on Ye Qian's cheeks and glanced at the 5 or so more cotton candies which Ye Qian was holding in his hands.
"Whom are all these for?"
"These are for Butterfly, Jia, Xiao Ya (the little one), and Wie."
Yuan Meng had just taken a small pinch of candy and placed it in her mouth when her brows raised high.
'It's fine for the little girls but why for Sister Wei.'
She could understand why Ye Qian would have bought these for the little girls but though she wanted Ning Wei to take her face after she left, it still made her a bit jealous.
Ye Qian noticed Yuan Meng's change and continued.
"If we were to not take something for her, then she will again act like a little girl."
"So it's better this way."
"Hmm."
Yuan Meng nodded and then wound her hand around his and walked in the direction of their house.
The market was the same way that of their house, so they didn't have to take a detour to get Luo Ya from her grandfather's shop.
Yuan Meng was eating the cotton candy without any haste as she would pick some tiny bit from it and put it in her mouth.
"Qian'er have this."
Saying that she put a piece of it in Ye Qian's mouth.
Ye Qian already knew what she wanted and didn't ask any further.
When the two had started dating, Ye Qian had found that Yuan Meng loved to eat cotton candies a lot.
And after seeing someone selling it by the park, Ye Qian quickly went to buy it.
Though he knew that Yuan Meng was very old for cotton candies and things like that, he still knew that in her heart Yuan Meng was still like a little girl who wanted to be cared for and loved.
Though other's might think that he was over caring for Yuan Meng; only he understood how much she had to hold herself from breaking down after he left the world.
To show what one never was, was the hardest thing one would ever do.
Though, Ye Qian had seen Yuan Meng showing her hard side since they were in the University.
Ye Qian clearly knew that maybe in the whole world, it was only him who knew of Yuan Meng's other side which she didn't show to anyone.
And after losing him, she had no one to rely on.
Of course, there were Grandma Yan and Grandpa Xiao, but they were not someone whom Yuan Meng could completely open her heart to.
Though she used to share most of her sadness with Grandma Yan, Yuan Meng knew that if she were to do it more than that would only make Grandma Yan's health go from just bad to worse.
What could she cry for in front of the woman who had lost her own son; won't it be like she would only make Grandma Yan feel worse for losing Ye Qian?
And that was also when Grandma Yan and Grandpa Xiao were trying their hardest to overcome their grief and try to work for their daughter in law who was going to give birth and were taking care of all the things, be it financial or other.
Ye Qian sighed thinking of this again and placed his left hand on Yuan Meng's shoulder.
He understood that maybe if other's knew that he had been struggling for more than 5000 years, anyone would think of him as great; but that was not what he thought.
The war that Yuan Meng, Grandma Yan and Grandpa Xiao fought against themselves cananot be compared to what he, the Venerable Ye fighting.
At least he had hope of meeting them again.
But the same could not be said for them.
Noticing that Ye Qian's sadness, Yuan Meng rubbed her head on his shoulder and mumbled.
"There is nothing wrong, just forget it already; there is no use overthinking about what has already happened. Just try to make what will happen in the future."

Ye Qian nodded and his gaze landed on the old man's meat shop.
The old man's shop was still bustling with many people who were going in and out.
