Uncontrollable Emotions (2)

“What are you talking about, bastard?”

“Why? Are you going to hit me again? Try it and you’ll see.”

The argument between the two continued, making So-hee clutch her head from the nausea.

Joshua swore like a sailor and continued spitting facts.

Meanwhile, So-hee’s vision had turned foggy.

Her body had been pushed to its limit.

“Shut up.” So-hee closed her eyes and murmured, but her words were quickly buried between their fight.

As she poured out all her remaining energy, So-hee slammed her body on the table next to the bed.

Upon hearing that sharp sound, both of their eyes looked at So-hee.

“STOP!”

Ariad’s fragile form had done its job for the last time, and she tilted to her right.

The two men moved immediately.

Deon’s hands supported Ariad’s tilted head while Joshua supported her shoulder.

Both cradled Ariad on the ground, scowling at each other before settling their possessive hands on her again.

“Get your hands off her!”

“You,f*cking bastard! Ariad was with me.”

Since Joshua already held her upper body, he lifted her up without saying anything.

Deon couldn’t even manage to grab her hair close to his hands.

Ariad was taken without further ado.

“What can you do for Ariad if you’re stuck here in prison, you fool?”

Joshua’s face was an inscrutable mask when he finally held what he wanted in his arms.

Deon’s clenched fists were shivering with anger which made the corner of Joshua’s mouth curl in satisfaction.

“Hit me again if you want to.”

Joshua thrust his jaw into Deon’s brown fist.

Deon gnashed his teeth, trying to suppress his infuriating anger.

“If you want to be locked up in this room forever, I’ll be happy to offer you my face, my friend.”

“If I get out of here, I’ll kill your baby first.”

Joshua laughed happily.

His loud ‘HAHAHA’ bounced back through the walls and floated in the wind from the small window of Deon’s cell.

“Well, Deon. You’ll have to die before you reach me.”

He didn’t linger.

Joshua turned his back to Deon as he held the little woman in his arms.

He heard Deon’s cries echo sharply behind him.

* * *

Their carriage was now headed to the palace.

Lavender, which didn’t usually exist there, surrounded them with its relaxing scent.

Joshua looked down at the woman in his arms, her head resting on her lap.

Cold sweat had trickled from the frown lines on her forehead down to her purple wavy purple hair, so he wiped it carefully with his hand.

Then, his fingertips slowly swept her beautiful face.

Her light purple eyes were big but sharp, her nose was straight, and her moist red lips underneath were perfectly shaped.

Joshua caressed her closed lids.

Joshua had felt strange when he faced Ariad a few days ago.

He swore that he was the only person who could see through Ariad’s true personality.

Joshua patted Ariad’s half-lidded eyes.

“You’re like a different person, Ariad.” He murmured, and it caught her off guard.”As if someone else is inside your body.”

The smart man almost figured out Sohee had her own life outside this story.

However, Joshua had burst into laughter, thinking it was a ridiculous delusion.

His fingers fiddled with the marks Deon had left on her skin.

He noticed that the bruises were quite large, making him angry.

Joshua lowered his lips to cover Ariad’s fresh hickeys with his own, but he decided not to.

He didn’t want to hurt her anymore.

“Why?”

Why did he think like that?

His mind must have twisted itself if it got to that conclusion.

He stopped moving because it shocked him to the core.

“I want to see  you suffer, Ariad.”

‘I want to see your face contort in pain.’ The intelligent man thought as he continued to analyze.‘Why did I feel this way?’

Joshua stared back at Ariad’s face.

Perhaps, Joshua didn’t want to hurt her.

His fingers caressing her jaw made it seem like Ariad excited him.

“Hahaha.”

Dumbfounded, Joshua laughed in vain.

Soon after, his eyes examined her shining cherry-colored lips before they lowered to her full breasts.

“I was never a beast, Ariad.”

Self-deprecation came next.

“I only had lust left in my heart for you.” He whispered.

At the mention of ‘lust,’ Joshua’s throbbing heart felt like it was on fire.

How could these cheap emotions come from such an intelligent head?

Joshua stared at the plump chest he wanted to touch, regained his reason, and turned his gaze to the carriage window.

The vast green landscape calmed his sexual excitement. Down.

Yet every time he returned his attention inside, her wonderful scent mixing with the fresh air from the trees stimulated the tip of his nose.

Joshua clenched his lips to endure it.

He had a crush on someone for the first time in his life, but he had to suppress these strange emotions.

‘Maybe, I was only feeling this way because of her physical appearance.’ Joshua repeated to himself over and over.

He must continue seeing Ariad in a negative light to avoid the humiliation of being thrown like trash in the future.
