12. I like it when you’re disheveled (1)

“I don’t care. Just give me your body.”

Joshua’s blood-red eyes glowing in the darkness seemed somewhat detached, and the cool surroundings made Sohee gulp saliva down her dry throat.

“What? What are you talking about? What do you mean ‘just give me my body’?”

So-hee’s heart pounded wildly, perhaps in a panic.

Joshua said nothing and swept her flushed cheek with his thumb for a long time.

Then, his pupils dilated when he continued. “I want to have sex with you. What do you think?”

Her heart throbbed.

So-hee wanted to run away from the caresses that followed.

‘I should say something.’ She thought urgently when Joshua started devouring her innocent lips.

As he held her in one arm, Joshua stared at her and smiled. “You seem to like what I did, and I like it, too. We don’t have to have feelings for each other.” He said in a deep baritone which made So-hee feel embarrassed for some reason. ”We’re just going to have sex. No strings attached.”

“Hmm.” So-hee sighed before showing him her most beautiful smile. “No. I might be wrong but I don’t think that’s how you feel, Joshua.”

So-hee might come across as a shameless clown after saying this.

She couldn’t see through people’s minds, so that might sound pretty absurd.

“I know you love me. Our chemistry is so hot that I felt it!”

At this point, So-hee didn’t care if she looked like a joke.

This was the best way to do it.

This man will play with her feelings until the end.

She would be fine if Joshua decided to laugh or mock her.

Joshua’s mouth seemed to contain arsenic.

“Do you love all the guys you had sex with, Ariad?”

His query was a timid mumble.

“Oh, no. That’s not the case, but it’s—-”

Joshua tried not to wince in disgust and kept a straight face, instead.

The strange sight caused So-hee to erupt into laughter.

“What’s the difference?”

This was unfair.

Of all the females in her web novel, why did she have to possess Ariad’s body?

“If you really felt love in a physical relationship, you wouldn’t have to meet so many men.”

“Well, there are many different types of love. There’s a love like this and a love like that–”

Anyway, So-hee had no idea what love was, but she said whatever came out of her mouth.

Why was she making excuses for a hoe like Ariad and being ashamed on behalf of her catty behavior?

“No, Ariad.” Joshua snapped coldly. “In all of the men you have met so far, you’ve never been sincere in them, even just for a moment.”

“How can you be so sure of that, Joshua?”

“Because I have felt that way, too.”

“What?”

“I never mean something to you, even just for a moment.”

So-hee bit her lip as she thought about what to add, but she had nothing to say.

Joshua gave her an even stare.

“I know that you’re a little interested in Deon now. I believe that wouldn’t last long either.”

“It’s a misunderstanding, Joshua. I came to see him for something else.” She whispered.

The bedroom was so quiet that she could only hear the branches shaking from the breeze through the window.

It took a while for Joshua to respond and what he did first was to laugh out loud.

“You’re saying you came to see him for something else. Why did you end up kissing him then?”

“That’s…”

His smirk indicated amusement but it didn’t reach his eyes.

His sharp gaze scrutinized her intensely, and So-hee turned her head to the side, avoiding eye contact.

She had no legitimate excuse because what he said was true.

Yet, the more she talked, the more she felt like she was digging her own grave.

“Everything seemed easy for you, am I right?”

So-hee shouldn’t have asked if he was angry and slept soundly instead.

“You don’t have to love me just because you had sex with me. I don’t love you either.”

She heard him say in a low voice and she instantly regretted it.

At dawn, Joshua’s deep baritone got stuck in her eardrums as if they were still there, whispering to her on repeat.

So-hee clutched her head roughly.

At this point, she just wanted this argument to end.

Perhaps, she could still persuade him to love her again.

However, she should sleep in the meantime.

Joshua’s straight fingers caught her chin and lifted it to meet his blood-red eyes.

“I dislike shiftiness. Lies. Emotional manipulation. Hidden feelings.”

“….”

“What I like is…”

Joshua, who was lying next to So-hee, looked down at her and lowered both of his hands on her waist.

It happened in a flash.

“No. What are you going to do—-”

Before she could finish talking, her lips were already crushed.

Joshua’s lips had found So-hee’s sensitive spot and bit her there.

Her lips parted naturally and her tongue came in roughly through the gap.

Their tangled legs made her fingers and toes curl from the electric sparks infused in her blood.

Joshua’s tongue kissed her more fiercely than before.

All the areas that he had touched left a sweet scent.

Their tongues tangled with each other as Joshua’s straight nose touched hers lightly every time he changed the angle of their kiss.

His big hand gently caressed her cheek.

So-hee could feel his hard chest over her thin silk slip.

His masculine scent seemed to surround her everywhere, and she had no choice but to accept the temptation he offered.

She was attracted to him like a magnet, making her constantly crave something more profound.

Joshua was an unstoppable force.

He was impossible to push away.
