13. Please divorce him (2)

After finishing her work, the maid left the room and locked the door immediately.

“Oh, my god. I’m speechless.”

So-hee was stuck in bed because she couldn’t move, but she felt even stuffier when she found out she was under house arrest.

If Ariad could cheat death by winning Joshua’s heart, the second thing she must do was to save Deon.

She should think about it carefully before her fated future happens.

She couldn’t do anything about it now, so in the meantime, she must float in these uncharted waters and try her best not to drown.

So-hee must pray to a God who existed in this world.

“How can I save Deon now?”

If her body was healthy, everything should have been solved.

It would all be over if Joshua just withdrew the documents he had manipulated to implicate him.

But what could she do with a body that couldn’t even walk?

“No, I can do it.”

When her readers’ comments had crossed her mind, So-hee clenched her right fist and lifted it into the air.

“My dear readers! I know that you find Deon delicious. Just trust me on taking his undergarment off once again! I’ll try to save him as soon as possible!” She shouted proudly.

Just in time, her locked door made a metallic noise before it opened.

And through the gap, she met the eyes of a woman with shiny blond hair.

Ariad’s blue eyes grew in bewilderment.

“What?”

It was Kelly.

* * *

Kelly put down the two boxes she had brought on the table.

One box was large and splendidly wrapped in gold ribbons, while the other was smaller.

Without saying anything, she sat on a wooden chair next to the bed while chewing her pink lower lip.

In the silence, So-hee urgently started making excuses first.

“Miss Kelly, I talk to myself a lot because of loneliness. Take it from me as a person who drops her underwear pretty easily. You might find me a bit strange for saying this, but many people in my hometown do that too. It’s not like I’m a pervert or anything like that. Anyway, I consider myself quite normal.”

“Yes.” Kelly replied.

Yet, why was she looking at her as if she was an alien?

The more So-hee talked, the more she felt like she was in a quagmire.

She stopped and brought the subject to its main point, instead.

“So what brings you here?”

“Well, I made some cookies for you.”

Upon hearing that, So-hee’s thoughts had shut down for a moment.

Surprised, she laughed awkwardly while covering her mouth with her right hand.

“Oh you don’t have to do that.”

“I heard you’re not feeling well. I thought eating something sweet might help, so I baked them for you.”

After saying that, Kelly handed her a small box that she had placed on the table.

As a result, So-hee’s right eyebrow naturally rose.

An ominous feeling of foreboding came.

To whom will Kelly give that big box?

“Oh, thank you. I wanted to eat something sweet.”

“It’s alright.”

Kelly’s business in her bedroom didn’t seem to end here, but she just couldn’t seem to voice that out.

She slightly lowered her head without making eye contact with her silky lashes casting a soft shadow on her beautiful countenance.

Also, Kelly’s hands kept fiddling with the end of her wide-brimmed hat resting on her knees.

She seemed to be disturbed about something.

As So-hee scrutinized her, she noticed that she also had a bruise on her neck like Ariad.

Of course, the reasons why they got them are very different.

Kelly’s bruise appeared like a mark she got from one of her family members beating her up.

It was her half-sister who did it, to be exact.

So-hee felt uncomfortable seeing it in person.

“Excuse me, Ariad.”

So-hee, who was lost in her own thoughts as she examined Kelly’s bruise, glanced up.

Kelly’s blue eyes watched her with such unnerving intensity.

“I saw the lock on your door.”

“Oh, that’s…”

What should she tell her about it?

“Joshua must have liked——No. Loved me a lot. That’s why he had the lock installed.”

What kind of bastard would put a lock on her loved one’s door and make her his prisoner?

“Oh, I know it’s hard to understand….” She tried to add, thinking Kelly might find it hard to understand even after she spat that out.

“No, I don’t.” A clear voice snapped. “I understand.”

“What?”

“I think I know what’s wrong with Joshua.”

Kelly’s anxious gaze switched into panic when she stared at her.

“I feel sorry for Joshua.”

“Why did you say that out of nowhere? What do you mean?”

“What a mess you’ve made that such a nice man would go this far for you.”

So-hee suppressed the strong urge to argue.

Even though she had a lot to say to this b*tch, she had no choice but to hear her out.

“I feel sorry for him for liking  you.”

So-hee perfectly knew what she was trying to say.

Kelly loved Joshua.

She was jealous because she knew Joshua’s love was only directed towards Ariad.

Every time Kelly saw Joshua with Ariad, her interest in him waned.

She just wanted to express her bitterness before meeting another man.

Kelly’s usual, gentle blue eyes suddenly turned sharp and focused.

“Do you have any idea about the rumors being spread about you among the people?”

“What? That I’m a wife who played with other men?” So-hee calmly explained Ariad’s character.

Kelly shook her head.

“There’s more to it than that. Rumor has it that you will ruin the royal family.”

“Wow.”

She had never written about that before.

Then, Kelly tilted her head and continued coldly, “If you also feel sorry for Joshua, Ariad. Please divorce him.”
