Radan.”

Radan knew who was calling him.

He couldn’t remember him, but his ears recognized him.

“Radan .”

As he called his name, he knew the person holding his shoulder was him.

His hands were big and warm. He was kinder than anything he knew. Over and over in his mind, he imagined that hand holding him and touching him.

“Radan.”

Radan knew him.

And he was running away from him.

“… … Ah, no!”

Radan turned his shoulders with all his might.

Riiip!

The hem of his clothes was torn and Radan was freed from Leshak’s hands.

Leshak looked at his empty hands and reached out to Radan again.

“Don’t touch him.”

Ozdin intervened in the gap between Leshak and Radan.

“He’s mine. Don’t touch him.”

“Oh my, him…… !”

Vendel was so startled that he couldn’t help but speak.

He was also so shocked that he didn’t know what to do.

Abadd drew his sword and aimed it at Ozdin.

“He is the Crown Prince of the Ibeden Empire. Show an example that suits your status.”

“Oh, I didn’t know that. I never thought that the Crown Prince would have such a bad hand habit.”

“Hey, come on! Lord successor!”

Vendel pulled the hem of Ozdin’s clothes with a look of dignity. Still, Ozdin did not show any signs of backing down.

Abadd said with his sword pointed.

“I didn’t know he’s such was an important person. It seems that he is the Lord of the Gett.”

“Because Amboia’s latest trends are always too fast for Continental people.”

“I don’t know why the leader of the Gett wants to touch a wanted man, but you know it’s a sin. Hand over the criminal before things become irreversible.”

Ozdin didn’t know what he was doing either.

Words came out before he could consider them.

Ozdin grabbed Radan’s opposite arm and said to Leshak.

“You have the wrong person, Your Majesty. This man is with the Gett, he’s not the criminal the Empire is looking for. There seems to be some misunderstanding. Considering the long-standing friendship between the Empire and Gett, I will pretend that I am not aware of Your Majesty’s mistakes, so please move out of the way.”

Leshak’s eyes glared at Ozdin.

But that was all. The time Leshak’s gaze spent on anything other than Radan was extremely short. Even if it was unnecessary.

“Abadd.”

“Yes, My Lord.”

“Give congratulations to them for helping find the wanted person. Grab some gold pieces and send them away.”

“All right.”

Ozdin Gett was a tricky character.

Treating him as a criminal would likely create needlessly complicated problems.

The simplest way was to deny any connection between him and Radan. In that way, there was no reason for Ozdin Gett’s problems to spread to be the problems of the Empire and the Gett Merchants.

The Lord of the Gett Merchants didn’t violate the wanted order of the Empire and did not help the Unknown Assassin, but rather assisted in the search for him, so that he could easily leave the city of Attica.

Before Abadd answered, Ozdin burst out laughing.

“Award gold. What an insult, Your Highness! When it comes to gold, I have more than you. I don’t need chivalry so please open the gate. I want to go home with my fiance.”

He deliberately gave strength to the word fiance.

“Then it will count like receiving a wedding gift from the Empire. I will certainly send you an invitation, Your Majesty.”

Abadd smirked at Ozdin’s words. The corners of his eyes crumpled up in annoyance.

“Engagement? Did you forget that the person you are speaking to is the Crown Prince of the Empire? Dare not to put a lie in your mouth.”

“It’s not a lie. I swear to the God of the Sea it’s true. As soon as I saw him for the first time, I knew he was my destiny. I even said a prayer of thanks to the Gods for the first time in my life.”

It was a moment where he wondered how the Gett Merchant’s owner got woven up with the Unknown Assassin.

Even if what he said about falling in love at first sight was true, it was not enough to attempt a similar adventure against the Empire.

“He is Kemened’s assassin. You must have heard the name of the Unknown Assassin in Amboia. The Empire will not tolerate criminals who, for any reason, attempt to assassinate His Majesty the Crown Prince.”

“The Unknown Assassin…… ?”

Ozdin’s face solidified.

He’d heard stories about the Unknown Assassin.

The large and small intelligence flowing from the battlefield was, of course, the foundation of business. The intelligence at the Gett was faster than in the other countries that were at war.

But the idea that Radan was the Unknown Assassin had never been declared as a fact.

He would have been lying if he said he wasn’t shocked.

“Ah, an assassin……”

Vendel shook his head in disbelief.

Radan was in even more mess than previously thought. His body trembled.

“No, I didn’t know that.”

Ozdin saw Radan and quickly changed his expression.

No matter how surprising Radan’s identity was, it was not enough to abandon him.

“Unfortunately, my fiance has lost his memory, Your Majesty. There’s no way to know what the past was like. And I don’t really care about the past because my fiance is so lovely. Anyway, please stop and let my fiance go.”

Ozdin grabbed Radan’s shoulder.

Leshak looked at Ozdin properly now. Emotions filled the eyes that had been empty for a while. It was a white-hot rage.

“Remove your hand.”

Leshak said this and pulled Radan with great force.

“…Ugh.”

Radan, whose body was pulled taunt due to being pulled on both sides, tilted his head and moaned a little.

His messy face which had been disguised by attaching bits of clay was revealed.

And Leshak found a bite mark that remained clearly on the nape of his white neck.

“What …… is this?”

Leshak asked Radan, and Ozdin answered.

“I’m sure that you’re not asking because you don’t know, Your Majesty. I guess my enthusiasm was a bit overdone today.”

Instead of listening to Ozdin, Leshak pressed the nape of his neck which was covered with teeth marks. Radan shrugged at the pain that spread along where his fingers touched.

It really was unbelievable. Radan was really holding someone else’s teeth marks on his neck.

“Answer me.”

“That…… ”

“Did he make it?”

Radan bit his lip and nodded.

“…… Is the engagement true?”

Radan knew Leshak. But he didn’t remember him.

The only thing Radan remembered was that he had to run away from him.

He went through a lot to escape. He even asked a stranger to take him to a distant land.

So he could lie.

“That’s right.”

“… …”

Leshak’s face slowly began to contort.

Radan’s answer left Leshak in a silent space for a while.

It took him time to accept this situation.

Radan disappeared. He searched for him and now this day has come.

As soon as Leshak entered Attica, he immediately found Radan. The field of view was divided into two categories, Radan and not Radan, and so was his mind. There was only Radan and not Radan.

When he looked, he realized what he had lost in the past.

What he lost was Radan.

It was not the Unknown Assassin, nor his betrayal, nor the anger caused by the betrayal.

Had it not been for the discovery of the filthy basement of Asilah Palace, which had turned Radan into an assassin, it would have ended up like that.

He lost Radan. So it was just a matter of finding Radan again.

Leshak gestured to Ozdin Gett.

“Abadd. Kill him.”

“Majesty?”

Abadd asked if he was serious with his eyes.

“Kill him.”

There was an answer that could not be mistaken. Abadd nodded.

“…… If you command it.”

He pointed a sword at Ozdin’s neck.

Ozdin would have been really decapitated had it not been for a tiny tuft of brown fur that flew in.

“Oh, God! Zorg!”

Vendel screamed as he grabbed an open bag but he couldn’t stop him.

“Kik! Kiiik!”

Zorg screamed out and climbed up Abadd’s arm, covering his eyes.

“What is this!?”

The soldiers by Abadd’s side rushed to capture Zorg.

“Kik, griik!”

Zorg made a quick play with his body and slipped through Leshak’s hands.

“Now!”

Then a hand approached from behind and grabbed Ozdin’s collar. It was Decker.

“You must run now!”

He cruelly grabbed Ozdin and dragged him away. Other attendants took their swords and surrounded them.

“Do you have comrades?”

Abadd changed the direction of his blade and pointed it towards Decker.

In an instant a battle line formed with sword blades, it was between Leshak’s Army and the crew of the Gett Merchants.

Decker swung his sword at whatever he could and shouted until his throat burst.

“Don’t knock swords carelessly! The purpose is to open the way!”

Ozdin, who was being dragged along, shook his head.

“Radan!”

“Forget it, Master!”

“I’ll take Radan too!”

“No!”

Vendel pushed Ozdin’s back with all his might.

“It’s a plane to see that they even killed Zorg! We must run away and try to survive, alright?”

Ozdin twisted his body violently. But Decker also held onto him with all his might.

“Radan! Damn it, let go! Radan!”

“Oh, my Lord!”

Radan saw nothing.

The commotion that was raised in an instant by the attendants to The Gett Merchants Head suddenly intervened, and what happened could not be fully understood by just listening to it.

“Oh, Oz……,”

Radan moved his head towards the voice of Ozdin calling him.

“Do not call anyone else.”

Leshak’s hand grabbed Radan’s head and turned it towards him. Radan’s head was stuck in the direction of Leshak and he couldn’t move it.

“From now on, I will teach you what to do.”

Leshak’s hand ran down his forehead. The disguise he used to appear to have gimmel disease, by putting clay crumbs around his eyes, was torn off.

The skin was itchy and Radan closed his eyes tightly.

Leshak watched every single one of them fall away.

“Give a good excuse. Like a father who has dementia or an older brother who can’t use his legs. It’s okay to say that you were locked up underground and ate only dried snake meat your entire life. It would be okay to say that you will never forget the taste of the candy you’ve only tasted once.”

“That’s…… What,”

Radan stammered in embarrassment as he did before.

Then Leshak laughed briefly.

“Yeah, like that.”

“…… What?”

“Do your best to come up with it, make it really plausible. Do you understand?”

“No……I don’t.”

Radan didn’t know what he was talking about.

Leshak gave a short laugh and let Radan’s head go.

“If you don’t know now, you will soon find out.”

Leshak snapped his fingers and made a sound. Hearing the sound, the soldiers approached.

“Yes, My Lord.”

“I need to sleep, find Sidris. Tell him to find a place to sleep.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“Except for those who are pursuing the Gett Merchants, rest is permitted. The rest of the instructions will be given by Abadd.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“And bring the shackles.”

“All right.”

The soldier who received the order disappeared.

The noisy night was coming to an end.

Leshak measured the time through the morning moon, which was turning white as a fingernail.

The fatigue that he had forgotten about came rushing in at once.

“I’m going to sleep well today.”

Leshak muttered to himself softly.

Radan had no clue what those words meant.

The only one left was Decker.

The other attendants would have been stabbed or caught.

Decker wasn’t safe either. He had injuries here and there, and he was so exhausted, to the point that it was hard to breathe.

He felt the urge to throw away the sword he was holding, as he was the best swordsman in Amboia.

“Huh, ha. It seems that the whole army has really come. It is said that Leshak becomes paranoid of the Unknown Assassin, so I guess that it’s true. To the point of delaying the war that should be over.”

Decker took a deep breath and squeezed out his voice.

Still, his eyes kept looking at the end of the alley where he had hidden himself. The situation was still the same as it was, he still did not know when the Leshak Army would appear.

Ozdin exhaled.

“It’s not because he’s the Unknown Assassin.”

“Then what?”

“It must be because he is the lover of Leshak Caliph.”

“Well?”

Decker paused for a moment and thought about Ozdin’s words, then shook his head.

“Ah, what is that? Does it make sense? It must have been his first time with a lover. Didn’t he say that he was The Unknown Assassin? Then no matter how much affection you have accumulated…… Hey, say something. Is it possible that Leshak Caliph is not as sane as the Lord of the Blessings?”

Ozdin nervously chewed his nails.

Decker was right.

If Radan was disguised as a lover to assassinate Crown Prince Leshak, then Leshak’s affection should have ended when his identity was discovered.

However…….

“He must be crazy, then.”

“What? No, who? The Crown Prince of the Empire?”

“Look at what he’s doing. It sounds like he returned his horse straight away on the way to Aryan Plains. This means that he’s bought time for his opponent. I mean, he’s come to bear all the losses. Even the Unknown Assassin is only one person. Now that the Kemened Kingdom is gone, do you think an assassin is worth it?”

“No, that’s it…… Oh no, it still doesn’t make sense, does it? He’s an assassin? He’s trying to take his life, but what kind of idiot sacrifices something for him, huh?”

It could have been.

Just like there are times when you fall in love even though you know that person is a human being that needs to be killed.

Ozdin spat out his bitten nails and said nervously.

“You must find him, right now.”

Radan had to be taken back.

Before the memories of liking, Leshak came back.
