Magic

"Look out, there's a sniper hiding in this building. I don't know where this nut got a sniper from."

""Zoro, you had better not loot now, we need support on the other side of town.

"I don't know why the hell you'd want to go all the way across town. I have harped on you to remain united on numerous occasions. We can get by with the loot we find here. We can kill the other teams and move on."

"I don't know what it is about some individuals, but they're so selfish and material!"

"What should we do next?"

"Just hear me out."

Those were the words being spoken between Robin and his friend over the earbuds he'd purchased for his average-priced mobile phone. Robin was just your average 5'10" guy from Guwahati, India (which is in the Northeast of the country). He was not the top student in his engineering class at the state university where he received his degree, like the other average Indians who tended to be better in their studies. Even though his parents had been pressuring him to pursue a career in engineering, Robin had no interest in doing so.

He finished his engineering degree 90% because his parents wanted him to and 10% because he wanted to avoid the crushing debt he'd incurred by then. Given that it was a state-funded university, he paid very little in tuition.

After finishing school, he finally fulfilled a lifelong ambition and that was g et fluent in a new language and use it professionally to earn money. He had previously put forth special effort to master Spanish and was currently doing so with Japanese.

He took online Japanese classes to complement the translation work he had thanks to his fluency in Spanish. And on his free time h e and his pals spent their playing PUBG Mobile.

It was one of those days, he'd been playing continuously with his buddies for three hours straight, all the while roaring into his microphone.

"Robin, you need to put down that game and join me for lunch."

Mom was in the kitchen as she called. Youth in India can live at home with their parents if they want to, unlike in the West, yet many of them still end up going out to work. But a part of the youth, though, would rather stay at home and work from there if given the choice.

Since Robin did his job from home, he decided to do so from home. It goes without saying that he made a financial contribution to the household by taking care of the groceries and other menial tasks. The apartment was in the father's name s o Robin took care of the couple of utility bills (electric, gas, and water) that they had each month. To be a good son, Robin insisted that his father accept the help even if at first he objected. Even though they didn't approve of his chosen profession, his parents nevertheless stood by him.

"Oh, yeah, ma. Coming.. Just a moment or two more... Zoro ... I will rescue Eren, who has been singled out for special treatment. If I get killed, I'm quitting the game. Now watch my back." As he ran to the nearby building, Robin stated while tinkering with the game on his finger. Between the building that Eren was in and the building that he was in, there was a significant distance with no cover.

Hearing nothing from the church, he took off running again.

"What the hell, Kenny..." His two teammates yelled out his PUBG ID, Kenny. Robin's lack of indication that he would proceed onto the open roadway prompted them to raise their voices. Robin was regularly reprimanded because of his hastiness in making such choices.

And today definitely qualifies as one of those days!!

A Kar98 aimed for Robin's head and fired. If fired at an adversary's head, this weapon is guaranteed to cause instant death. Robin, on the other hand, was only wearing a level 1 helmet, which is considered to be below average, therefore he was instantly taken out of the fight. This is because someone wearing a higher level helmet has a better chance of being saved and will only lose a portion of their health.

The following shot was a dead giveaway, a fatal head wound. Poor Robin couldn't even make it to safety by crawling.

"What a moron...

"Don't act so hastily, as I warned you."

"Why does this jerk have to be the one to tear us down every time?"

"You made a mistake by attempting to save me. There would be no point in your coming; I warned you."

The loudspeaker was bombarded by a series of cries. When Robin saw it, all he could do was sigh. When it came to big games, he wasn't exactly a standout performer. The fact that his mother was calling him for lunch was probably what pushed him over the edge, as he wanted to win the fight as soon as possible so that he wouldn't have to listen to his mother harp at him.

"I am truly sorry, all of you. I would have to leave.. It's time for lunch my mother is calling." In spite of the ribbing from his pals, Robin said into the microphone. Due to the fact that they had been friends for such a long time, this was something that frequently occurred between them. Returning to the home screen, he immediately logged out.

Robin got out of his seat as the main menu was loading on the screen and stood up. He took a stride and nearly yelled out of pain when his toe struck the side of his bed. Not that he was clumsy, but it wasn't the best time of his life when he accidentally viewed the mobile phone's home screen while strolling down the street.

Robin held the phone in an uncomfortable position as he checked his toe for a skin rip because of the agony. Thanks to his good fortune, there was none. Once he was certain that everything was in its proper place, he looked at his phone once more to end the game.

However, as he checked his phone, his eyes widened. Those jaws would have hit the floor if they could. Robin had the fear of his life because of what he saw.

He watched as his thumb slid off the mobile's screen and into the game!

Oh, my God!!

The first thing that sprang into Robin's head was that there was something wrong with his mobile phone. However, it was solid and free of flaws. The most unbelievable part was that his thumb seemed to him in two dimensions inside the phone.

"What is this, exactly? Could it be a problem with my phone or am I just imagining things?" At the notion of his finger being severed, Robin carefully withdrew his thumb. As soon as he freed his thumb, though, everything was fine again.

"What the heck went down?"

To satisfy his insatiable curiosity, he placed his thumb once more on the mobile screen, this time with the goal of inserting his thumb in the game's menu. The thumb again found its mark.

'This is?"

'What the heck is this?'

He decided to give his other fingers a go after his first procedure went so well. His finger followed his thumb and poked its way in.

'Is this my power?'

Robin pondered, feeling a sense of empowerment. Because he was confused, he was feeling a great deal of anxiety. Just like before, when he attempted it with his other hand, his fingers entered the game's menu.

"Robin, you better come for lunch." When his mother yelled at him, Robin snapped out of his panic.

'Stop panicking! Take it easy... Once you've eaten, you can examine your hands to find out what's wrong.'  After finishing the game, Robin walked to the dining room for lunch.

Even as he ate, his legs were trembling with nervousness. His mom saw it and was concerned, so she asked

"Are you okay? Is there a problem?"

"Don't worry, mama; everything's OK. In fact, I just got a new project that needs my attention. Since then, my schedule has become completely full." Robin lied when he was practically inhaling his meal.

After eating for about five minutes, he went back to his room and, as usual, shut the door. He felt compelled to investigate the phone's additional capabilities. In order to try it again, he unlocked the screen. But he just couldn't pull it off this time.

'What exactly is going on here? So, I guess I don't have any power anymore, huh? Maybe I was just hallucinating."

He was disappointed at first, but then he realised it was all part of the game and he had to trust his fingers weren't going to fall off. A few seconds later, he launched PUBG Mobile and gave the strategy another go.

There it was!

As he had hoped, his fingertips were able to pass through the display. When he saw it, Robin nearly leaped out of his seat.

One can well ask, 'What the hell is this power?'

His fingers now travelled over the screen for a short distance as he reached out to the guy holding a regular M4 rifle, just to see if he could make contact with him. In spite of the fact that his finger went right through the standing guy, he was still able to feel the solid M4 in his grasp.

He couldn't believe it!

He felt around for the M4 with two fingers and made an attempt to draw it out. Then, suddenly, the miracle occurred!

Like magic, a miniature M4 appeared in the game. The M4 appeared to be about the size of a finger, and he could have easily gripped it with two or three fingers. His legs were shaking, but as he stared down the barrel of the revolver, he steadied himself. Due of its diminutive size, it had no purpose.

A mere stage prop!

Disappointment crept over Robin as he stored the miniature M4 on a neighbouring table. The moment he set the weapon down on the table, it began to grow in size, and in an instant, the miniature weapon had expanded to the proportions of a regular M4 assault rifle!!!

"My GOD!"
