Long time no see

Bian Shengjian stared at the train number information constantly scrolling overhead, and finally caught a glimpse of those familiar figures when he looked at the exit for the 101st time.

“Here!” He waved.

Lu Shen also looked up at once. He felt nervous for some reason and stepped back a few steps behind Bian Shengjian.

“Third brother!” The person in front of him was carrying a big bag, and when he rushed up, he almost crushed Bian Shengjian.

“Did you miss us?”

“I think… You fucking crushed me.” Bian Shengjian took the big bag and weighed it in his hand. “Why is it so heavy?”

“I’ve put food and books in there.”

Li Fei looped his arm around his neck and waved to Tan Ming. “Ming’er, run faster!”

“Damn, I’m exhausted.” Tan Ming hurried up with two big boxes and threw one of them to Li Fei. “You left me alone carrying these? Shame on you!”

“Third!” He gave Li Fei another stern look before turning his head, wiping the sweat on his face and opening his arms. “I miss you.”

“I miss you too.” Bian Shengjian sighed and went up to hug him, then turned around as if remembering something, “I almost forgot……this is my friend, Lu Shen.”

“You have other friends besides us?” Li Fei was a little surprised.

“Go back.” Bian Shengjian pointed to the station entrance, “Now.”

“Damn, what about our good friendship that is as solid as iron!” Li Fei shouted in dissatisfaction.

“Hi buddy,” Tan Ming extended his hand to Lu Shen generously, “My name is Tan Ming.”

“Hello, my name is Lu Shen.” Lu Shen shook hands with him, and his eyes quickly swept across the faces of the two of them.

It can be seen that these were friends who had a good relationship with Bian Shengjian, and their temperament was the same in some aspects. They were wanton and full of juvenile spirit, but they also had a hint of a gangster who wanders the streets.

Amazing.

“Li Fei.” Li Fei also reached out to Lu Shen and shook it, but his eyes soon returned to Bian Shengjian, and he hooked his shoulder with one of his arms. “We’ve come all the way here, so remember to treat us tonight!”

“Nonsense, the seats are all reserved.” Bian Shengjian raised his phone, “It’s nice to have hot pot in a restaurant nearby.”

“Okay.”

Li Fei nodded and picked up his suitcase. “Then let’s find a place to stay first.”

“How long will you be here?” Bian Shengjian asked.

“Three or four days at most. I told my mother that the school arranged for extracurricular practice before I ran out. If it’s too long, I’m afraid she’ll be suspicious.” Tan Ming sighed, “It’s really not easy.”

“Normally, having a son who has been through juvie, a parent couldn’t wait to tie him home with an iron chain every day.”

Li Fei laughed at himself and waved his hand again, “Forget it, let’s not talk about it, today’s brothers should have a good drink or two!

“You…. have been to juvie?” Lu Shen said suddenly.

Li Fei’s hand in the air froze suddenly, as if he had forgotten that there was a living creature like Lu Shen next to them, and the atmosphere suddenly became a little embarrassing.

“Uh…”

“It’s none of your business so don’t ask.” Bian Shengjian touched Lu Shen’s arm and said in a low tone.

“Oh.” Lu Shen blinked slightly and lowered his voice, “Do you still have a lot of things to hide from me?”

“What the hell,” Bian Shengjian suddenly felt a little upset, “It has nothing to do with you, so why bother?”

“Third brother, you and this…” Tan Ming said, suddenly stuck, a little embarrassed, “I’m sorry, what’s your name?”

“Lu Shen.” Lu Shen turned his head and glanced at him.

“Lu Shen, Brother Lu.” Tan Ming scratched his hair and smiled. “Third brother, you and Brother Lu have a good relationship. I didn’t expect you to find someone to talk to in this little place? It must have been not easy.”

Bian Shengjian didn’t know how to respond for a while.

Do you have a good relationship with Lu Shen? Was it alright? But we had a fight before! But why did you bring him out when the relationship was not good?

“Hmm, sure.” Bian Shengjian hooked his arm on Lu Shen’s shoulder and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you to the hotel.”

After putting away their luggage, the two immediately shouted that they were going to eat. Bian Shengjian glanced at his phone and felt that it was almost time. Thinking that it was just right for the four of them to take a taxi, he waved and to stopp one. “Master, stop.”

“I’ll sit in front.”

Lu Shen reached out and opened the front door.

Bian Shengjian acquiesced without saying a word, squeezed into the back seat with the other two and started chatting all the way, probably because of what happened to them while he was away. He also asked whether the bar, the source of all evil, had closed down.

“No, it’s still running fine.”

Li Fei leaned back in the back seat with his eyes closed, “I take a look at it every day when I go to school, and greet the twenty-eighth generation of the owner’s ancestors along the way.”

“Me too.” Tan Ming agreed.

“That girl… is called Xiao Qing, right?” Bian Shengjian paused, “how is she?”

Li Fei and Tan Ming didn’t speak, and it took a long time to sigh heavily. “What else, she’s gone back again.”

“Back? Back where, at the bar?” Bian Shengjian frowned. “Fuck, is she sick?”

“She is indeed sick.” Li Fei glanced at him, “It’s been so long, probably been infected by an unknown man.”

“Then why the hell did you save her in the first place?” Bian Shengjian felt a little irritable when he remembered the past, and looked out the window. “It’s all that idiot Xiao Liping’s fault.”

“It’s not that you don’t know his family’s situation,” Tan Ming sighed, “her sister was…”

“Alright, alright.”

Li Fei saw from the mirror that the driver’s eyes were getting more and more strange, and interrupted the topic in time, “Why are you talking about this again, can’t you have a good one to chat about?”

“That’s right,” Tan Ming grabbed Bian Shengjian’s two hands. “Have you had any fun recently, Third, let’s hear it.”

“No.” Bian Shengjian couldn’t help but want to sigh when he said this.

There wasn’t, but there were ready-made ghost stories.

********

“I’m afraid of ghosts.” Li Fei said at the dinner table, leaning back. “Don’t talk about it, it will affect my appetite.”

“Fuck, is that right? There’s a fucking school built across from a crematorium?” Tan Ming couldn’t help but hug his arms. “That’s scary!”

“Scared you to death? But you don’t even go there. “Bian Sheng chucked a piece of meat into his mouth. “Actually, it’s not bad, it’s just that when dead people are burned, there will be smoke coming out.”

“Stop!” Li Fei slapped his chopsticks.

Bian Shengjian couldn’t help laughing and took a sip of wine, “Okay, I’ll stop.”

In fact, Bian Shengjian was reluctant to mention those rumors, including the big and small weirdness of the school and the supernatural events he had experienced. After all, he had always been like this since he was a child. Small things and happy things were not bad. If he really encountered something difficult, he always liked to keep it to himself. Generally, he rarely talked to people only when he’s about to burst, because he never felt that there was any real empathy between people, even if he knew how miserable a person was, the comfort of outsiders would always appear bland.

Ah, don’t be sad, ah, don’t be sad. Ah, it will get better in the future. It’s alright, it will pass, it’s alright, just keep an eye on it, it’s not a big deal.

Aren’t all the same.

“Everything was good.” Bian Shengjian said.

“Really?” Tan Ming glanced at him suspiciously, “If you have something to say, say it– it wasn’t easy for us to come here!”

“That’s right,” Li Fei snorted twice, “By the way, how is your school? Your father found it for you from such a faraway place. Surely the class is full of bullies, right?”

“Well, the enrollment rate is the first in the city.” Bian Shengjian stared at the boiling soup pot.

“Really!” Tan Ming became excited, “Damn, aren’t you still a scumbag in your class? Da Fei and I even made a bet two days ago that you would become prosperous when you came to a new place!”

“I never did that with you.”

Li Fei said immediately.

“Last one–.” Bian Shengjian glanced at him, “Are you satisfied, you scumbags?”

“…Fuck.” Tan Ming didn’t speak for a long time, then gave a thumbs up silently. “It’s awesome.”

“Eat what you eat, don’t ask so many things.” Bian Shengjian slowly removed the hairy belly from the pot. This restaurant was recommended to him by Zhou Li. There was nothing really special about it, but the base material was particularly fragrant, and it was said to be a secret special flavor.

I’ll buy two packs for them to take back after we leave in a while.

“Right,” Li Fei raised his head halfway through eating, “That garbage, he was discharged from the hospital a few days ago.”

“Which one?” Bian Shengjian reacted after speaking, “….Oh, so fast?”

“He’s been lying there for two months, and doesn’t even need to pay for the intensive care unit. Y has taken advantage of it a lot.” Tan Ming snorted, “That thing should be beaten to death, so as not to hurt people again.”

“That’s right,” Li Fei sighed, “The rubbish did a lot of shit and was afraid that people would shake it out. It’s really fucking good. As soon as he was hospitalized and discharged all clean, he became a fucking victim.”

“Forget it.” Bian Shengjian narrowed his eyes, “what about him? How is he now?”

Li Fei and Tan Ming looked at each other, and after thinking about who this “he” was for a second, they both said, “You mean Li Mu?”

“Hmm.” The cruel and disgusting scene he saw that day flashed through Bian Shengjian’s mind, and he subconsciously felt nauseated. “Is there anyone harassing him now?”

“None for now,” Li Fei said. “It’s such a big thing. Who would dare to bully him again? At most, he would be isolated… But it’s better than being blocked by a group of people in the toilet, right?”

“That’s good.” Bian Shengjian took a sip from the cup at hand, and realized that it was not wine.

“This is mine.” Lu Shen took the cup and took a sip, “It’s tea.”

Bian Shengjian picked up his cup and tapped his knuckles on the table a few times. “Aren’t you talking a little bit less tonight?”

“It’s interesting listening to you.” Lu Shen smiled, “It’s okay, you can continue.”

“Say…” Bian Shengjian raised his eyes and glanced at Li Fei and Tan Ming, feeling a little strange. It stands to reason that he had been playing with these two for a few years. Although they were not familiar enough to wear the same pair of pants, he still understood the most basic temperament. They didn’t mean to not talk to Lu Shen at all, as if they regarded him as a transparent person.

It shouldn’t be, where did the social cows go?

Bian Shengjian glanced at Lu Shen again from the corner of his eye, and saw that he was eating with his head down calmly, and occasionally raised his head and listened to them intently, just like he was in class.

It was him who brought him along, and now he had left Lu Shen aside. Although Bian Shengjian believed that his heart was like a rock, he still felt a little embarrassed at the moment.

“Then what…” Bian Shengjian hesitated for a while, and was considering whether to say something to make Lu Shen participate in their topic, when Li Fei put down his chopsticks and leaned back on the chair saying, “Brother, we’ll be finished eating in a while. Where are we going next?”

“I don’t know either.” Bian Shengjian ate the last piece of vegetables in the bowl and wiped his mouth with paper: “There’s nothing to do around here.”

“Damn it, it’s so boring.” Li Fei slapped the table, “So you’ve been learning in vain for so many days, you don’t even know what’s interesting around here?”

“Didn’t I used to squat down on the side of the road with you and just chat all night?” Bian Shengjian glanced at him, “Compared to that, this is boring now?”

“Okay, just go out and walk around, it’s really a bit of a stretch.” Tan Ming belched, lowered his head and touched his stomach.

Before leaving, Bian Shengjian deliberately went around to the front desk and asked the waiter to pack a few bags of base material to take away. As soon as he turned around, Li Fei and Tan Ming had already walked out of the store, shoulder-to-shoulder. Bian Shengjian looked at their backs while carrying the bags and felt a little sad for a moment.

What good friendship?

“Third brother.” Lu Shen suddenly appeared from behind, his face was a little red even though he hadn’t been drinking. He didn’t know if it was because of the spiciness.

“Where to wait?”

“Why don’t you go back first?” Bian Shengjian looked at the time and hesitated for a while, “but the dormitory should be closed now… wait!”

Bian Shengjian stared at him. “You have a home, right?”

“…Yes.” Lu Shen looked at him.

“Last time, we stayed at a fucking chicken feather hotel, why don’t we just go to your house, I”ll only use your sofa to lie down all night.” Bian Shengjian was a little hopeful.

“The house is too messy,” Lu Shen said vaguely, “and I haven’t gone back to clean it up for a long time.”

“…Okay.” Bian Shengjian twitched the corners of his mouth. “When your parents come back, you will be slapped just looking at your messy dog kennel.”

“If only that could happen.” Lu Shen said softly.

Before Bian Shengjian could realize the meaning of these words, his phone suddenly rang, and it was the two ungrateful things calling.

“You two, you went and wandered the world.” Bian Shengjian answered the phone.

“Third, come here, we are just around the corner!” Tan Ming’s voice was inexplicably excited, “I saw that there was a band performing in a bar. Let’s join in the fun?”

Bian Shengjian frowned: “If there is anything you want to do, it’s up to you.”

“Da Fei has already entered,” Tan Ming shouted again, with a pleasant tone, “The location has been sent to you, we’ll wait for you inside!”

“Fuck.” Bian Shengjian cursed while looking at the darkened screen.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Shen asked.

“Are you an adult?” Bian Shengjian glanced at him.

“Full-fledged adult.” Lu Shen nodded in shock.

“Have you been to a bar?” Bian Shengjian asked again.

“…No.” Lu Shen said.

“Then let’s go,” Bian Shengjian sighed, “Tonight, this brother will open your eyes.”
