Chapter 309 309 - A Lotus
Yue held Chen's hand and they walked out of the house to his father's place and knocked.
His mum opened the door with a cheerful smile. "Welcome, welcome my baby Chen, come here to grandma~" he pulled him close and kissed him. "Look how cute you are, look at your chubby cheeks," she pinched his cheeks softly.
Little Zi Chen hugged her tightly. "You're beautiful today too, grandma,"
"Such a sweet mouth you have, come in. grandmas made a lot of treats for you," she glanced back at him. "Come in Yue,"
Yue walked in and kissed his cheeks. "Good morning, did dad leave for work so soon?"
His dad started to work on uncle Wen's farm after a year or so. he was getting bored at home and was very high strung. But after getting a job there he was super cheerful. every day he would come home with a bright smile on his face. He would often talk about the new soil.
As a geologist and a plant lover, he was living his dream.
"Yeah he's a busy man," she kissed him back.
Zi Chen ran to the garden area to play with Bakbak. He squatted close to the willow and was petting her. Blackie just watched him from above.
Yue watched it with a small smile.
"You were like that too." she nostalgically whispered. "I'm happy you took him in. It was such a good decision.."
"It's given... I fell for him long back." Yue chuckled softly.
Suddenly he felt a small weight on his pant leg.
Little Trexa baby was hanging on his pant leg.
"oh my baby, did you miss daddy," he picked her up and kissed her softly.
When they all moved to Fan's house he was planning on bringing Trexa with him, but later he found out that Zi Chen was allergic to rat hair. He started coughing and rashes broke out all over just by touching her.
He made a tough move and left Trexa back with his parents.
Whenever Trexa missed him, he would crawl over to his house through the windows. She became so naughty that she would randomly end up in their bed while Fan and he was 'doing' that.
From that day on Fan Xui made a strict rule that Trexa should not drop by after sundown.
Poor baby was really vexed.
Yue kissed her again.
"Dad.. here..." Chen gave him a lotus.
"Aw thank you, baby. It's beautiful," He took it from him. It was golden and shining slightly. "What's this? I never knew we had lotuses."
"The pond suddenly grew a few. Trexa tried to eat them so many times. The pea wine stopped her every time."
"Hmm weird..." he held the flower carefully but he did not throw it away. After all his son gave it to him.
After spending some time with his mum he picked up his dad's lunch and changed his gloves.
Once he had touched Chen without changing the gloves after touching Trexa and the poor kid got a very bad rash and was sneezing the whole day.
"Zi Chen~ what is second in our schedule?"
He happily ran back to him. "We have to meet grumpy grandpa,"
"Yes, let's go meet grumpy grandpa,"
They said their goodbye's to his m9other and walked down the road.
After Fan Xui took control of this place everything was much safer. The crime rate had dropped exponentially.
Occasionally his house would be targeted by robbers but the willow tree and the pea vine took care of them with ease. Sometimes those two would make a partnership and eat humans secretly.
His mother never knew of this, only he did.
"Dad, do you like it..." Zi Chen pointed to the flower in his hand.
"Like I? I love it. it's so beautiful look at it glows in the sunlight,"
Zi Chen giggled. "I love it too, willow told me to pluck it," he said with a cheerful smile.
Yue paused door a second. "Willow told you?"
"Hmm, she said pick it up before the rat steals it again."
Yue chuckled. "She must hate Trexa, huh?"
"She called Trexa a thief all the time," Zi Chen swung his arms around.
They got to the barrack quickly.
The soldiers at the gate gave him a smile Yue nodded and walked Zi Chen in. things have changed in the barracks too. Hary took a step back and actually retired from his position and Fan Xui was given all responsibility. No one knows why, but he really just left. Even his teammates were saddened by this.
His uncle Wen became Fan's subordinate. He took care of the other generals and made sure they didn't cause any problems and he was also in charge of the food distribution.
Yue glanced at the lotus in his hand. "Chen ah, why don't we drop by somewhere before meeting dad,"

They both went to the third basement floor where Qian was in.
This flower they got from their pond was super weird. A normal flower does not have a weird shine to it. he just wanted to get it tested in case it was dangerous for his mother's and father's health.
He knocked on Qian's lab but surprisingly there was no one inside.
Sighing he walked over to Prisitsky's lab. The door was ajar and Zi Chen ran in.
"Chen ah you shouldn't run in!" he ran in after him.
His kid was standing there frozen looking at something.
In the middle of the lab, Prisitsky was on the table and Hary was half-naked pressed up again him obviously doing 'that'
Yue immediately closed Chen's eyes. "sorry sorry, continue on with your 'work'"
Hary happily waved at him.
"What's that?" Prisitsky pointed to the flower.
"Oh a lotus that grew in my house. I wanted to get it tested,"
"Turn around, Yue. You, get off me."
"But.."
"Work comes first,"
Yue hesitantly turned around hugging Chen to his waist. The little kid was curious and he was trying to peak past his body. "Come on, don't be naughty. We should not look,"
"What are they doing, that man is crushing him naked.. Just like what dad 2 does to you?"
"oh my god," Yue closed his mouth. "Dad 2 was not crushing me.. He fell on me 'accidentally'."
"They fell accidentally too?"
Yue did not know how to answer. Sometimes this kid left him completely baffled. "y-yes they fell..."
