112 [Bonus Chapter] Chapter 112: A bad situation
The helicopters took them to the state of Virginia, a state somewhere between the yellow and brown ratings. A land that has a mixture of both wolf and tiger threat level mutated beasts. It is overrun by mutated beasts and for a while now a lot of resources have been put into clearing out a good number of mutated beasts so that the state can become habitable again.
The team was flown directly to the military base there but on their way, Alex observed a lot in silence and frowned. After attaining his awakening, Alex’s sense of danger rose considerably. Apart from the mutated beasts below, he could feel a greater threat of danger from the vegetation below.
“These plants are alive?” Alex’s words after a long moment of silence drew everyone’s attention.
They all looked outside their windows but they couldn’t notice anything odd about those plants. Everything still felt normal to them.
“Yes, mutant plants are hiding amongst the normal ones.... They feed on humans as you would expect and are very tricky to spot.... How did you know?” Miss Lane asked Alex with a raised eyebrow.
“I just knew” Alex said calmly and frowned.
He stopped looking out the window and turned to meet Miss Lane’s gaze with a stern look on his face.
“This is Virginia, a place somewhere in between the yellow and brown zone... meaning a mixture of wolf and tiger threat level mutant beasts.... I am curious, are you really going to send freshers down there?” Alex asked coldly.
“you don’t have to worry, the military will be with us at all times, and also third-year students are also currently down there.... The country is putting together as many resources as possible just to clear this area! It’s an honor working for the sake of the country” Miss Lane said with a casual look on her face.

Who would have thought a recruit will speak to a supervisor like this? Even if he is a member of the Big Four in the military it is still considered a grievous crime.
“The military here is lacking and that’s why we were sent over, to fill up the numbers... This ride is not as safe as you make it look, many of these people here with me will die and you know it! The least you can do as a decent human being is be honest with them but I guess you are not capable of honesty as well...” Alex said coldly while inwardly trying to restrain himself.
His anger could be felt in his voice and his words shocked everyone. Right now everyone who considered this trip fun had a change of mind. The harsh reality dawned on them now that they are going out there with one goal, kill everything in sight and expand the territory of the country.
“This is no normal hunting.... This is an all-out war against the mutant beasts of this area... not many people will make it back alive... which explains why every year only ten percent of the original class population, survive to the end and graduate... the rest die in the field” Alex said calmly.
Just from the internship alone, close to twenty recruit interns were killed and that is probably the safest job one can do as a guardian.
Their set has close to a thousand recruits or more, Alex guessed less than half of that will be leaving this place after four months. The rest will leave in body bags if there is anything left of them.
Miss Lane had no reply and the rest of the journey was completed in silence. Once they reached the camp, all the students were assigned to a dormitory while the representatives of the Big four were given special accommodation differently.
Unlike the other recruits, they didn’t have to share a room. Everyone had a room of their own. Back in his room Alex checked the network and it was okay, he guessed it will only be an issue when they leave the military base.
He gave Tracy a call and after speaking for more than thirty minutes or so he went down for dinner.
The representatives of the big four found themselves seated at one table and eating. The mood there was a bit off after the confrontation between Alex and Zero but some people still tried to smoothen it.
“Alex, you saw the projects handled by the Tyrant gang... what do you think about it?” Kira of the God sect asked.
Everyone looked up, gazing at Alex with curiosity. The news can only say so much in hopes of not scaring the public! Only those who were there can really say what happened.
“If nothing special is done to put the Tyrant gang down.... We, not just we... the entire United States will seize to exist in a few years at most from now” Alex said confidently, sending shivers down everyone’s spine. A possible army of controlled Losts with duplicated beast gears was created while trying to create sealed artifacts.
The artificial deviant’s creation project, which could turn every member of the tyrant Gang into a massive fighting force! Even their goons will be granted abilities!
