133 Chapter 133: Terrifying Alex
“Back up team?” Alex frowned.
He has never been the type to work with others, especially strangers. If there is a second team working with them it means his position of power is just about the same as that of the captain of the second team.
His orders are absolute anymore which will make it harder to operate especially in a situation where he needs to reveal his power to protect his team.
Alex silently made up his mind and turned his attention to the general once again.
“You are putting me in a difficult position here and you know how the Briggs react when threatened” Alex said with a cruel smile.
“Unfortunately this mission is very vital and I can’t leave it to chance or hope so I need to do the best I can... Deploying the two teams are the best I can do at the moment... This mission determines who holds the advantage in this war so I hope you understand” General Firestorm didn’t seem bothered by the implications of Alex’s words.
“By the way, last time I checked you are no longer a Briggs” General Firestorm said calmly.
“I adopt their methods when necessary... It’s very effective that way” Alex shrugged his shoulders and looked away.
The General smiled and didn’t say more on the matter. He pulled out a file from his drawer and passed it over. Alex remained still as Silver took it and began scanning through it with a slight frown on his face. After a few minutes, the frown on his deepened as he gripped the fill with more than enough force required.

“We are going through sector H again... where Alex barely escaped from the purgatory snake. Apparently, the secret entrance to the underground lab lies there and the purgatory snake was placed there for a reason... it is believed you got close to it and that’s why it attacked you” Silver said to Alex coldly.
It was dumb of them to think they could sneak into that place without any issues. Alex heard this and frowned. He hated the fact that he was getting thrown into the lion’s den just after escaping it.
“If the purgatory snake protects the place, doesn’t it mean it is a mutant beast pet? This is insane! Who the hell has a tiger threat level mutant beast as a pet?” Blitz was stunned.
His hands dug into his spikey yellow hair as he had a look of shock on his face just like everyone else, including Alex.
The task which he assumed will only be dangerous when they find their way into the enemy hideout become something more terrifying. Not only did they need to enter an underground facility filled with supposedly inactive enhancer prototypes but they also have to battle a tiger threat level mutant beast before that!
“You should just execute us on the spot instead of beating around the bush! If you want my team dead, just say so” Alex said calmly.

A cold chill ran down General Firestorm’s spine as he readjusted his seating position and cleared his throat before speaking.
“I won’t send you to a mission I don’t see a chance of you surviving... You worry too much” General Firestorm said.

He was slightly shocked to see Melissa, Mr. White, a massive man and an extremely short man standing on his shoulder. For some reason, he felt like he was looking at a gathering of clowns and this pissed him off gene more but he tried not to show it.
By the way, they are all third years and Alex always believed that anyone who managed to make it to the third year must be exceptionally strong. In his opinion, even though they all had the C ratings on their watches, he guessed they should be as strong as him when he goes all out.
“We meet again Mr Alex... I am the leader of Team White! It’s nice working with you again” Mr white said calmly as he walked forward.
Little beast jumped off the ground and landed on Alex’s shoulder while gazing at Mr. White fiercely.
“I have never been good with pets” Mr. White said as he stretched his hand For Alex to shake.
Alex quickly took his hands without saying a word. His eyes were lifeless as he scanned through the faces of the other squad.
He has never been the type to believe in things but to an extent, he trusted this cat. The fact that it insists on remaining hostile to Mr white is enough reason for him to be wary of the man and his team.
“It’s a relief to know you are the one I have to work with since we are already familiar with each other... I’m guessing you have the rest of the requirements needed for the job and you already know the plan... so there is no need for us to stand here and chat let’s get going” Alex said with an unusual friendly smile.
Seeing this smile sent chills down the hearts of everyone there! When did the cold and viciously Alex Briggs become a nice person?
“Someone’s gonna die pretty soon” Silver muttered with an amused look. He has seen this look before.
