218 Chapter 218: Change of plans
Alex jumped off the window and shot towards the sky in the form of a grey beam of light. He flew towards the western wall with a frown on his face as he knew a fierce battle was about to ensue. While he was confident in his strength, he hasn’t really tested out his battle prowess so he can only guess his limit without any valid evidence.
In a few minutes, Alex was already hovering above the western wall with a frown on his face. While the civilians weren’t evacuated, he could sense the energy signatures of various energy revolvers hiding in plain sight. With a glance, he could tell they were probably the best of the best amongst the Estos because each was at least at the Earl ratings with the strongest being at the Marquise rank. Even the elders were only at the peak of the Marquise rank and a step away from becoming Duke level beings.
The only problem was their aged body and burnt out potential is preventing them from making that final jump!
They trusted Alex enough not to evacuate civilians but also put up their best forces outside just in case something goes wrong or Alex needs assistance. While he expected this much he still felt pleasantly surprised. If these people were so trusting and did not take preventive measures, it may be a good thing for him now but if someone else comes along, they can also take advantage of this flawed personality!

The power of gravity may be absolute but its reach is limited probably due to its cultivation.
His body refused to move as he stood and watched the anxious mutant beasts. As expected, they are not as dumb as the creatures of the earth. They had already guessed his current range limit and the mutated beasts stood right outside it.
Seeing this Alex frowned since this wasn’t what he expected. He expected these beasts will rush forward mindlessly now an opportunity to attack the city has presented itself. He couldn’t help but admit that he underestimated the enemy too much and silently apologized for his stupidity.
“How far is it from here to the next power source?” Alex asked abruptly which left everyone confused.
” That should be about 1,400 kilometers! We made sure we didn’t build our home too far from another power source. That’s why we wanted to push through this direction” Jalic Gale’s voice sounded from the floating cameras and Alex nodded with a gentle smile on his face.
“I guess I have no choice but to change plans. These beasts are not willing to come forward so I will go after them. Don’t hesitate to bring back the barrier as soon as I’m gone” Alex said calmly.
“What do you plan to do?” the voice asked skeptically.
“The plan is to reach the second power source but I guess killing as many as I can is not a bad thing” Alex shrugged his shoulders while responding.
“You wish to reach the second power source? Do you think you can make it?” The voice sounded excited.
“I had little time to practice so I can’t be too sure. If I had more time I would have been a hundred percent sure. Anyway, there is no harm in giving this a try. It wouldn’t hurt to get familiarized with the enemy around” Alex said as his body began levitating forward.
As he moved the beasts retreated, trying to maintain their distance from Alex’s zone!
“Regardless if I succeed or not, we will be able to harvest a lot of beast cores which will help improve our energy reserves...” Alex shook his head as he spoke.
His eyes seemed empty and the cameras followed him as he moved.

As soon as Alex crossed the walls of the city and went slightly farther, the barrier lit up and was brought back to life. Meanwhile, a fierce beam shot towards him at the same time making him frown, but he didn’t move!

The energy beam struck his invisible barrier and even this couldn’t break into his gravity zone! His eyes were void of emotions as he looked toward the one responsible for the attack and frowned.
“Purgatory snake” Alex said disdainfully as the Earl level being swimming towards him while the army below raced forward as well.

“If you paid any attention to my past, you will realize that the purgatory snakes only win once. The second encounter is where they die” Alex said casually but didn’t make a move.
Everyone that ran into his zone was suppressed by his gravity power, then they would feel a powerful suction force within pulling them in before their body imploded. It’s just like pulling it in with so much force, when you finally let it go, it explodes.
Countless explosions rocked the ground as countless beasts raced forward! The purgatory snake entered his zone and didn’t die as easily as the rest which made Alex frown but he wasn’t worried. As expected of a tougher foe, it will take a little more effort to kill it!
Alex’s body suddenly exploded with power as his figure turned into a beam of light while he shot toward the enemy! The purgatory snake raced after him as well, strangely motivated! His eyes turned cold as he met the massive serpent and threw an open palm forward while the beast struck with its powerful skull and a powerful shockwave erupted between the two!
They all watched in shock as the mighty beast wiggled and struggled as ripples sent forth from Alex’s palm spread across its body, from the head, all the way to the tail!
The mighty beast spat out a mouthful of blood and began falling off the skies, leaving Alex alone.
