“But controlling a territory is not something one person can do!” Xinxiu quickly said with a stern look which stunned Alex.
He could tell the girl was terrified of him yet she still felt it was important enough to muster up enough courage to tell Alex what he didn’t want to hear.
“What do you mean?” Alex asked with a frown. If it were back on earth the mortal plane of existence, he wouldn’t bother with this lady since he knew his way around but right now Xinxiu was the one with the most experience here. He wouldn’t dare disregard her at a time like this.
“Just like religions are formed there is no religion with one man. Although there are supreme beings in each religion there is still a chain of authority. Who do you think the angels with names and all that are?” Xinxiu asked Alex, leaving him speechless.
Was she trying to say that all the major characters in every religion represented one of these deities in a faction?
“Let me guess as new members join, religions are updated and a new character is introduced,” Alex said with a stern look
“Of course but it doesn’t happen often since new gods are really formed. One in a billion ascend to this plane of existence... When a new deity joins a faction, life in the universe is wiped out and the new integrated religion is presented to the new generation of mortals” Xinxiu said with an emotionless look on her face as if she was talking about the eradication of ants and not people.
How could she be so heartless?

Alex refused to believe this. By nature, Xinxiu was a kind person and that is proven by how she tried to warn him about the monster even though she knew nothing about him. But then, when she talks about mortals, she speaks as if they are insignificant beings.
It’s not that her personality changed.
Xinxiu is the same person, it’s just that her environment changed, twisting her view of life slightly.

Alex frowned at this as he wondered if he would become the same as these deities when time passes. It is said that a person lives long enough to become what he hates the most.

A shockwave exploded from Alex’s body as his rage was revealed in his eyes. To think the universe would be wiped out over minor things! How could these new gods treat humans like dust?

Xinxiu retreated as she saw the furious Alex and the effects of his anger on the environment. She didn’t know why Alex would be worked up over insignificant things when he should be more bothered about their chances of survival in this world.
With no faction to back them up and no worshippers, they were bound to vanish. Xinxiu has lived in this world for tens of thousands of years and was nearing her limit. If she couldn’t find worshippers soon they will eventually end up vanishing forever.
Of course, that was none of Alex’s business. He had his goals, he had his duties toward those still in the mortal plane. Xinxiu may be kind but Alex didn’t owe her a favor nor did he have the time to joke around.
The longer he spends here before returning, the lesser his chances of meeting his family when he returns. Alex’s mind was in turmoil when he considered the possibility of his sons dying before him. He dreaded such thoughts and sincerely wondered what he could do about it. Even if he were to conquer a territory here, it still won’t be the one he needed. The one he needed was owned by the high gods.
No matter how he looked at it, things are over and he has lost. Even if he protected the people he loved, he didn’t get to live. His entire mortal life was one battle after the other. He kept fighting until his final breaths, leaving him with strings of remorse in his heart, tying him down mentally.
“It is said that the supreme deity of the deity faction is able to resurrect the dead… as a god the stronger you get the more powers you recover. The world universe is more like a ring as long as you look within, you will always find what you are looking for. The souls of the dead who cannot make it to our world reincarnate. They live short yet meaningful lives…” Xinxiu said with greed in her eyes stunning Alex.
How can a sweet soul like Xinxiu be slowly transformed into this version of a monster? They say you live long enough to become the things you hate. When you live so long you see things differently.

Alex’s eyes yanked open, blazing with resolve. Since these gods have lost their way, he wouldn’t hesitate to wipe them out and restart everything. His cold gaze fell on the unsuspecting Xinxiu.

Alex pushed away the killing intent in an instant and so fast Xinxiu didn’t even notice his brief burst of killing intentions. He remained seated with a cold look on his face as he made his plans and then turned to Xinxiu.
“I will become the sole god of this world and change everything,” Alex said as he finally felt a feeling of responsibility and a sense of duty. He finally felt like he had regained direction and he knew where he was going.
Becoming the supreme deity in this world will allow him to protect everyone and bring his loved ones into this plane of existence. He suspected Silver would still be alive no matter what. Right now he needs to become the God of gods.
“Pray to me” Alex’s voice was calm but demanding, hearing this even Xinxiu who seemed cheerful and innocent frowned.
In her opinion, Alex’s words were simply another way of challenging this world, why would such a fierce man appear and what kind of mortal life did he live that made him this way?
