51 Chapter 51: Complicated
Alex crawled away as he watched the two fight fiercely. He wore an annoyed look as the fight progressed and he realized something was wrong but he couldn’t tell what it is in particular. The mutant beast may be slightly weaker than it should be but do some reason Alex felt like the beast was holding back.
With all the blood Alex saw on his way here, he was sure the beast was badly hurt but right now he couldn’t help but have second thoughts. Was this beast trying to scam them just like he is trying to scam it and the hunter?
That is a possibility but to be able to do such, Alex knew that the beast must have some sort of healing ability which is impossible since it already has soon powers. A tiger-level beast can only have access to just one type of ability and while there may be anomalies who have two, Alex did not think it is possible to find an anomaly here but that doesn’t mean he is ruling off that possibility.
“This is getting too complicated...” Alex mumbled with a cold look on his face.
If only he could see the beast’s wounds he should be able to confirm his doubts but the mutant beast always moved in a way that hid its injured chest from plain sight. Alex guessed it simply did this just to hide its weak spots from the enemy but now he also felt there is a possibility it was trying to hide its healed chest from them.
Alex believed that just like him the mutant beast was looking for an opportunity to strike while their guards are let down.
Just like he said, the situation is getting a lot more complicated just because the mutant beast is trying to outsmart them!
Bang!
With a powerful strike, the mutant bat was sent flying across the room. It struck the ground and rolled a bit before promptly bouncing to its feet and throwing a vicious right claw forward.

The hunter shoved away its claw with the black spear before proceeding to hack upwards with his spear. He intended to split the enemy in two with this attack, from bottom to top
Boom!
The bat caught the spear with its claws before taking in a deep breath and releasing more sonic attacks!
Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
The powerful sonic wave shot forward, threatening to consume the enemy but something unexpected happened. The hunter let go of his beast spear before performing a 360 degrees turn while drifting to the side as well. He beautifully escaped the range of the sonic attack while delivering a powerful punch to the beast’s face causing it to stagger back a bit.
Whoosh!
With his fists raised to his head level, the hunter charged forward fearlessly, planning to battle the beast with his fists since it held into his weapon. He moved in a zigzag motion as he approached, making it difficult for the mutant beast to aim at him if it ever plans to use the sonic attack.
Watching the fight unfold, Alex frowned. He has seen enough and while it may look like they have the advantage, he could tell it is only a matter of time before the mutant bat strikes intending to kill the hunter in one move. Disarming him already rendered him vulnerable to a certain extent.
Bang!
Alex quickly swung into action as he chased after the hunter with a dead serious look on his face. He hated he couldn’t wait out the fight and he hated the fact he is getting played by a mere beast.
Whoosh!
Alex shot forward like a bullet, appearing beside the beast with a clenched fist while the hunter attacked from the front.
“Took you long enough!” The hunter growled as h desperately dodged the claw attack of the beast.
No matter how close he got, he couldn’t get the beast to let go of his spear, and even though he didn’t say it out, it was obvious he was getting pressured by the attacks.
Xiu!
The bat gave Alex a disdainful grunt as it slashed at him viciously with the spear in hand. Seeing this Alex performed a side flip to evade the attack. The moment his feet struck the ground his eyes turned pitch black and suddenly, the mutant bat was thrown off its feet, floating into the air! The sudden change in gravity caught it off guard, preventing it from reacting quickly!
Its grip on the spear loosened and Alex took advantage of this and snatched it from its hands. He quickly activated the matter absorption ability and absorbed the material used to make the spear, turning his skin black with a few brown spots.
Whoosh!
Alex didn’t hesitate to throw the spear toward the hunter who caught it and gave him a thumbs up. While he assumed Alex helped him out, the truth remains that Alex only wanted to get his hand on that spear. It is some sort of assurance that he will be able to fight the hunter on equal footing when the mutant bat is dead!
His eyes narrowed as he increased the gravity around the bat, making it feel like a mountain was dropped on its head.

The beast hit the ground hard but it was still standing on its feet. Somehow it was able to stabilize itself before its legs proving to Alex that the beast is not as weak as it claims to be.
“KNEEL!” Alex growled as his eyes blazed with power and the feet of the mutant bat dug deep into the ground!
Numerous web-shaped cracks spread across the floor and it struggled with the invisible force trying to crush it!
“Kill it, Now!!!” Alex screamed and the hunter swung into action.
His eyes narrowed as he tightened his grip on the spear, racing towards the enemy coldly.
Swoosh!
Without hesitation he swung his spear at the beast, attempting to decapitate the beast but surprisingly it leaped backward, evading the attack!
“You are not getting away!” The hunter screamed as he jumped towards the enemy spinning in a drilling motion with his spear!
