Chapter 21

Rosena blinked again and again. She pinched her cheek in case she was dreaming.

However, the tingling pain on her cheek told her that it was real. Rosena slowly approached the palace.

The mottled roof was newly painted and the numerous fine cracks were covered.

It wasn’t just it. All the weeds that had grown around the building disappeared, and the entrance to the palace was properly paved.

Rosena’s all-day work in the backyard seemed like a housekeeping game compared to the Prince Palace’s tremendous change.

Rosena walked through the garden to see what had changed.

The trees, which had grown recklessly in size, were transformed as if they had changed their clothes.

They were excellent as if they were built by professionals.

After walking carefully, Rosena realized that the entrance to the palace was closed.

And it was during the moment she got close to the entrance.

“Ah.”

Rosena stopped, with a startled look on her face.

It was because she made eye contact with the men standing in front.

The men who made eye contact swallowed their breaths, looking more frightened than Rosena.

Who the hell are they?

Rosena looked at the men with a wary look.

One of them was huge and the other had his long hair tied high up to one side.

The two were dressed in the same black uniform, but it’s not servants’ clothing.

As Rosena’s body hardened, Illian, who was holding Rosena’s hand, also stared at the men.

On the other hand, the men squirmed, looking at each other’s faces.

“Rosena?”

A familiar voice broke the odd confrontation.

Everyone on the spot looked at where the voice came from.

There stood Yerhan.

The eyes of those four people glued to Yerhan, but Yerhan fixed his eyes on Rosena as if only she existed.

The men who found Yerhan tightened their shoulders.

Yerhan, who came outside, paused for a moment.

He was also looking at the men.

Then the men became frightened and straightened their backs.

“Lea…”

As soon as the big man opened his mouth, Yerhan’s eyes held a cold glow. The guy simply shut his mouth.

“Do you know them?”

Yerhan gazed at Rosena’s hand that gently wrapped around Illian’s shoulders.

Yerhan showed signs of trouble for a very short time and quickly changed his expression.

“They are… the workers I hired.”

The men’s eyes were on Yerhan at once with his answer.

With a stunned look on each of their faces, they expressed timid dissatisfaction by slightly sticking out their lips like ducks.

“Ah, That’s why the palace…….”

Rosena nodded, looking convinced.

The palace changed while she was in the backyard because Yerhan hired workers.

“For now, we’ve been in a hurry to repair it.”

Thanks to that, it had changed too much as if the building had been replaced.

When Rosena said nothing, Yerhan asked cautiously.

“Would you rather build a new one?”

Hm?

Rosena blinked, wondering if she had misheard.

“If we had a temporary residence and rebuilt the palace…..”

“No, it’s okay!”

Rosena freaked out and cut him off.

It doesn’t only cost a penny or two to build a new palace for her.

It was clear that he would have spent a lot of money repairing the palace this time.

Don’t tell me you’ve spent all your emergency money?

Rosena looked at Yerhan with a pitiful face.

Whatever it was, they had to live together for years.

Rosena didn’t want to lean on him.

“Say, it’s not much, but I’ll help you. I have a little gold.”

The faces of Yerhan and the men became very unusual at Rosena’s words.

Is it because there’s only a little gold?

Embarrassed, Rosena briefly calculated how much gold was left.

Gold, in the Kingdom of Astania, which was called the Golden Island, was not very valuable because it had a lot of gold, but it was quite valuable in the empire, so she purposely brought a lot.

She spent quite a lot of gold while wandering around the empire with Illian, but there was still quite a bit left.

“I think you’d better keep it.”

Yerhan slowly continued with a slight look of disapproval.

“…And if you don’t want to build a new palace, I’ll just do the rest of the renovation.”

“All right.”

“Have you eaten?”

“No, not yet…”

“Then why don’t we have dinner together?”

Rosena’s lips moved slightly at the subtle suggestion.

She had never had a meal with him during her stay at the palace.

Rosena, who didn’t answer for a moment, looked down at Illian.

Illian pulled Rosena’s skirt slightly with drooping eyes.

Rosena took it as a sign of hunger.

“Yes.”

Rosena’s answer sharply divided the two’s facial expressions.

Yerhan smiled slightly, while Illian stared at Yerhan with an angry look on his face.

Rosena, who had not seen the two men fighting, saw the other men standing behind Yerhan.

The workers would have taken all day to fix the palace, so they must have been very hungry.

“Have dinner before you go.”

Yerhan and Illian, who were fighting with their eyes, turned their heads at the same time at Rosena’s one sentence.

This time, Yerhan and Illian focused their burning eyes on them, as if they were united in heart.

They looked at the two men like they shouldn’t have stepped in and intruded on their meal.

“Ah, we are…..”

Their hesitation made Rosena droop, wondering if it was too much pressure.

“If you don’t want to…..”

“No, it’s not!”

The men responded hastily to Rosena’s disappointed appearance.

They belatedly saw the burning eyes of their master and the little master, but the water had already spilled.

Five people headed for the palace.

Rosena stood in the center, then Illian and Yerhan matched her steps on both sides.

The men, the Knights of Tiriad, Crayle and Isaac, followed carefully behind the prince and his wife.

“Wow… that’s a lot of fixing.”

As she entered the palace, she saw a neatly cleaned hallway.

The ceiling was clean, as well as the outside and interior were fixed.

She couldn’t believe it all happened in a day.

Rosena looked at Crayle and Isaac with respect for no reason.

But the two turned their eyes away quickly.

Heading inwards, a dining hall appeared.

The table in the center of the dining hall was small enough to seat up to six people, and the decorations were minimalist.

Rosena looked up at the chandelier that let out a faint glow.

The interior of the restaurant was small, but it was neat and clean as if it had rarely been used.

By the way, she didn’t think he had a proper servant, so did he even have a cook?

‘Do I have to cook?’

While Rosena was struggling, Yerhan pulled out a chair.

“Please have a seat.”

Rosena was taken to her seat in a daze.

Yerhan told Illian, pulling out the chair that was furthest away from Rosena.

“Illian, you sit here.”

Illian’s shoulders trembled. But in the midst of this, he couldn’t get Rosena into trouble.

Now there were three chairs left. Crayle and Isaac started a war of wits.

They quickly figured out where to sit so that they wouldn’t upset their master.

And the two sat as far away from Rosena as possible.

Fortunately, it seemed to be the right choice.

Yerhan hadn’t sat down yet, though everyone sat down.

As Rosena gave him a look of curiosity, Yerhan said in a slightly low voice.

“I hired some servants, but I haven’t found a cook yet…..”

It meant that Yerhan would carry the food himself.

As Rosena tried to get out of her seat, Yerhan shook her head.

“Please have a seat.”

“We, we’re gonna help…..”

Crayle and Isaac raised their butts off the chairs.

But Yerhan spoke with a neutral expression.

“It’s not hard enough to need help.”

Upon hearing that, Crayle and Isaac relaxed their legs and slid back down into their chairs.

How dare they make their leader work hard, cold sweat formed a river in their palm.

Yerhan was not the usual figure they knew.

‘Let’s not be surprised by what the leader does.’

‘Let’s just take it naturally as we usually do.’

Crayle and Isaac, determined, looked at each other’s faces. And they nodded in silence.

The action was similar to wishing each other luck on the battlefield.

Before long, plates of appetizing food began to be placed on the table.

Everyone waited for Yerhan without touching the food.

After he brought all the food, he sat across from Rosena.

“Thank you for the meal.”

Rosena’s voice resonated quietly, and then everyone followed.

Rosena was the first to pick up a knife. She was going to eat the piece of lamb meat in front of her.

“I’ll cut it for you.”

“It’s al…”

His hand stretched out before Rosena could refuse.

Everyone looked at them, Rosena hesitated and pushed the plate.

Yerhan, who received the plate, immediately began slicing the meat.

It was a delicate and gentle gesture as if cutting with a ruler.

As Rosena looked at it, enchanted, Yerhan lifted his head and cast his eyes at Illian.

Illian’s hand, which was holding a fork, was shaking.

He looked like he would throw the fork if Yerhan did well.

Yerhan raised one corner of his mouth silently.

Illian, who was staring at him, suddenly grinned.

And he pushed his plate away, towards Yerhan.

“Me too…. cut it for me too….”

Yerhan’s eyebrows were raised up.
