Chapter 28

From early in the morning, the wedding hall was filled with many people.

The nobles attended the wedding, wondering about the existence of the rumored third prince.

They wanted to see with their own eyes how ugly and insignificant the third prince was.

But most of the nobles at the wedding were astonished by the size of the wedding hall, which was so different from what they had imagined.

“Isn’t this the Count? I didn’t expect you to come.”

“Long time no see. Baron, I was worried about it after receiving the invitation, but I couldn’t overcome my curiosity.”

“By the way, it’s very unexpected. I didn’t expect it to be this big.”

The baron whispered in a low voice.

The third prince was known as the son of the emperor with somebody else, not the empress.

Even if he got married, they thought it would be shabby and insignificant.

But they didn’t expect such a grand wedding.

Someone might think it was the Crown Prince who was getting married.

“Well, he’s still an imperial family member after all, Her Majesty must have been considerate.”

“You’re right. Even if the kernel is poor, the shell should look plausible.” (PR/N: they’re saying that even if he isn’t a real royal due to mixed blood, he should still look the part.)

The count laughed softly at the baron’s words.

For them, the third prince and the new wife of the prince were nothing but a joke.

“Who did you say the bride was?”

“I heard she is the eldest daughter of Count Estarot.”

“If it’s Estarot…. Is it that fallen family?”

Young ladies and married noble women talked about the bride without a break.

Their biggest concern was the new bride.

It was surprising that a young lady of a fallen noble family married an imperial family member, but they were not so envious if her partner was the insignificant third prince.

“Anyway, it’s either the bride is quite ugly, or they are really suffering financially.”

“The wedding hall is shiny, but what is it for?”

The women burst into laughter, shaming the bride they had never seen before.

Around the time the nobles gathered at the wedding hall were exchanging greetings, magnificent music was heard.

The emperor and empress appeared.

The nobles who were seated, rose in unison and showed them courtesy.

Everyone sat down when the emperor beckoned to sit with his hands up.

Soon after, the crown prince and the second prince’s family appeared.

Everyone at the wedding hall looked at the crown prince.

The blond under the sun shone like it would melt away.

A walk with a sense of modesty was enough to attract people’s attention.

Everyone could see that the crown prince is the most similar to the emperor.

The men showed deep respect for him, and women expressed a tumultuous compassion for him.

When the crown prince sat down, the noisy surroundings subsided slightly.

Soon after, a priest in white climbed up to the podium.

“Groom, please enter.”

Everyone looked back at that one word.

At the end of the aisle, stood a tall man.

Heok, someone’s rough breathing was clearly heard.

The bright blond hair above the black robes, anyone could tell that he is an imperial family member.

Although he has a beautiful face as if it had come out from a canvas at any moment, his straight waist and firm shoulders extending from side to side along the neckline does not look weak at all.

The features were delicate and soft, but he seemed cold because there was no expression.

Every time he walked down the aisle, a blue cape fluttered.

Everyone couldn’t breathe and caught his movements in their eyes.

One of those staring blankly murmured.

“Is he really the third prince…?”

They couldn’t believe it, but it was undeniable that the man walking down the aisle was the groom.

When he finally stood in front of the podium, the young ladies looked at the third prince with envy and sorrow.

They firmly believed he would be ugly, but who knew he would have such a sweet face.

If they knew this would happen, they’d be interested in him at least once.

While many young ladies were in public distress, the voice of the priest was heard.

“Bride, please enter.”

A woman began to walk from the end of the aisle with magnificent music.

Wearing a wedding dress with a new design, she seemed to disappear in the bright sun.

The dress train fluttered with the gentle spring breeze.

Everyone swallowed their breath once again on her clean, clear face.

The bride was a woman like a mist flower.

She was not colorful, but her pure face attracted attention.

During the officiating ceremony, the nobles watched the bride and groom without taking their eyes off them.

Finally, there was the kiss of the oath.

Usually, the only kiss of the oath was a light kiss.

However, the two were unable to part their lips and continued to kiss each other explicitly.

A lady watching it gently raised her hand to cover the eyes of her daughter sitting next to her.

Everyone couldn’t breathe and was watching, but the bride took off her lips first, perhaps because she was belatedly conscious of people’s eyes.

The relationship between the couple, which people thought was a political marriage, was beyond imagination.

Rosena grabbed her burning cheeks.

She couldn’t even remember how she got back from the wedding hall.

Only the touch of his lips that were all over her continued to hover in her head.

She was only going to pretend, but how did she get into it…?

Rosena swallowed a sigh that burst out again.

The excited heat remained at her fingertips, still unable to escape.

Rosena looked at herself in the mirror.

She had to freshen up now to attend the evening reception.

The maids busily groomed Rosena.

The hair that had been twisted up naturally drooped down and a fancy hairpin was placed.

After dressing up, Rosena changed into a dress that she had ordered from the dressing room.

It was a popular design in the Kingdom of Astania, there was a lot of tassel, so it swayed every time she moved.

The maids who saw the exotic dress admired it.

They looked around at the clothes, saying it was a design they had never seen before in the empire.

The sun was already crossing the horizon when she finished dressing up.

Rosena, who rose from her seat, opened the door and came out.

Then her eyes met Yerhan, who was leaning against the wall.

The moment she saw his face, Rosena swallowed her breath.

It was because she remembered kissing him earlier.

Yerhan slowly lifted himself up and walked in front of Rosena.

Stopped just around the corner, he stared silently at Rosena.

As the silence grew longer, Rosena became anxious.

Why isn’t he talking? Is her makeup weird? Or is the dress too weird?

Rosena blushed, wondering if she should say something.

Then a word popped out of his mouth.

“You’re beautiful.”

Rosena slowly blinked at the words.

Yerhan took a step back and turned around.

Somehow his ears looked a little red.

Walking side by side in the hallway, Rosena recalled Illian.

She hadn’t seen Illian all day.

She couldn’t take him to the reception, so she ended up asking the nanny to take care of him.

It felt like a long way to the banquet hall.

Rosena and Yerhan walked without saying much.

But without saying anything, they were conscious of each other.

They got out of the hallway and got in a carriage to the banquet hall.

Unlike the dark night sky, music was heard from outside the banquet hall filled with lights.

Before entering the banquet hall, Yerhan reached out to the hesitant Rosena.

“Would you like to hold me?”

When he asked politely, Rosena put her hand on his palm.

His pulse seemed to be felt from the hand in contact.

Holding their hands together, the two entered the banquet hall.

When she slightly closed and opened her eyes to the pouring bright light, a different world unfolded.

Underneath a huge chandelier made of crystal was marble and gold.

As Rosena and Yerhan stepped inside, people’s eyes poured out like arrows.

The nobles were looking at them.

When they saw the prince and his wife, who had only been in the rumors, they wanted to talk to them because they were so different from what they thought, but there were few people who could gather courage.

With everyone glancing timidly, someone walked out of an unusually large crowd.

In an instant, the nobles stepped back on both sides, opening the way.

Rosena looked at the man who showed up in the crowd.

A man with bright blond hair, just like Yerhan, gave a soft impression with his smile, but she somehow felt uncomfortable.

“Yerhan.”

The man called Yerhan. When the name was called, Yerhan turned to him without expression.

“Congratulations on your wedding.”

“’Thank you, Your Highness, the Crown Prince.”

From the polite exchange of words, Rosena could tell that the man was the crown prince.

“And…”

He turned his head slightly and looked at Rosena.

As soon as her eyes met the blue eyes, Rosena’s body shrank as if someone was looking over her back.

The crown prince was silent for a moment.

A strange light was entangled in his eyes.

His eyes that became thinner and thinner reminded her of a snake.

Rosena felt like a little mouse in front of a snake.

It was an instinctive rejection.

Rosena came to her senses and greeted politely.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Your Highness, the Crown Prince.”

Instead of answering, the crown prince reached out and gently wrapped Rosena’s wrist.

Gently pressing his lips onto the back of her hand, he raised his eyes.

At that moment, a fire broke out between Yerhan and the Crown Prince.
