Chapter 31

Rosena had hiccups for a long time.

She used to be full of energy, but it was now gone.

He was looking down at Rosena, leaning slightly against the door.

“…Wha, what do you mean? “It’s exactly as I said.”

He stretched his arm toward Rosena’s shoulder.

“We’re officially married from today.”

The door knob turned and the door opened with a clack.

Feeling the chilling sensation, Rosena looked back in a hurry.

A slightly larger room than the room she was living with Illian came into view.

Some sunset-like candles lit up the dim room.

There was a big bed in the middle of the room. A bed that seemed wide enough for several people to roll around. It looked like a new one.

There was a small table next to the bed.

On the table, there was a bottle of wine, two glasses, simple fruits and cheese.

Rosena was speechless for a moment after checking the candles that were burning softly.

They obviously held a wedding ceremony today. But it was just for a show, not a real marriage.

She was sure she said they would get divorce the other day… But why did he prepare this?

“Are you really going to pretend to be a newlywed couple?”

There was a sense of bewilderment in her voice.

Yerhan shoved Rosena’s shoulder very lightly.

After he unexpectedly pushed her into the room, he snapped the door shut.

“My condition, have you forgotten?”

What do you mean condition?

Rosena fumbled for a moment. But before she could think of it, Yerhan took a step closer and whispered, in front of her face.

“We decided to pretend to love each other and to be happy, more than anyone else.”

“Ah….”

Only then did she recall his condition that she had momentarily forgotten.

On the day Rosena offered Yerhan a divorce, Yerhan offered to pretend to be a good couple.

Rosena accepted the offer and…

“People will be suspicious if we start using different rooms from the first night.”

What he said made sense. But who would know if they spent the night together and whether something would happen?

Yerhan took a step back as if he had read through Rosena’s mind.

“Don’t worry. I’m not going to do anything.”

Rosena was embarrassed.

She felt sorry that she was being wary and suspicious of him.

Yerhan dragged a chair past Rosena.

Then he picked up the bottle of wine on the table and poured it into a glass.

Rosena watched the dark red liquid pour into a glass, and eventually dragged a chair across.

Yerhan also poured wine into Rosena’s glass.

The sound of wine pouring into the quiet room sounded as loud as a waterfall.

Rosena silently looked at Yerhan.

Whenever she saw him, Rosena’s mind was restless.

For seven years, Rosena buried him in her mind.

She thought everything that day was an immature mistake.

That night, without knowing shame, she craved only Yerhan.

She had no emotion and instinct… just like an animal.

Whenever she saw Yerhan’s face, she kept thinking about that day and kept suffering alone.

Whenever that happened, she had no choice but to push him away without realizing it.

“Would you like to take it?”

At that voice, Rosena awoke from her thoughts and accepted the glass.

Smelling a sweet scent from the tip of her nose, Rosena slowly lowered her eyes.

She didn’t expect there would be a time where the two of them would drink together like this.

Rosena, who was savouring the fragrance, put the wine in her mouth.

The wine wasn’t too heavy, and it smelled faintly of fruit.

It was a perfect wine for Rosena, a low-dose, light drinker.

Even selecting a single wine showed his careful consideration.

Rosena glanced at Yerhan while drinking wine.

The robes, buttoned up to the neck, looked stuffy.

She once wore a neck-length dress, and she thought it was suffocating.

Rosena unknowingly spoke to him.

“Don’t you feel uncomfortable?”

Yerhan’s eyes slowly turned to Rosena.

Rosena added in a hurry.

“No, your clothes look heavy.”

Yerhan was silent for a moment.

Then he reached out and pulled down the tie.

The tie that was wrapped around the neck flowed down slowly.

His lower lashes seemed to have spread a spark of flame.

The golden eyelashes were sparkling red, and then a dim yellow.

His sliding finger snapped a button. The movement seemed sexual.

After releasing about three buttons, his neckline was revealed.

The chest, which was placed under the straight collarbone as if measured by a ruler, was revealed.

Rosena felt like it was getting hot, perhaps because she drank wine.

Anyway, she needed to change before she went to bed, but where should she change?

After a moment of contemplation, Rosena glanced at the bed covered in a translucent curtain.

It made her feel uneasy to think that they would sleep over there.

It was the moment when Rosena was only emptying wine glasses.

“?”

A bird’s cry from the garden stopped Rosena from moving.

The bird’s cry wasn’t so loud, but it was clearly heard in Rosena’s ears.

Rosena rose from her seat and headed to the window.

Yerhan looked at Rosena’s back, puzzled.

“Is there something wrong?”

It was strange to see Rosena sticking to the window instead of drinking.

Rosena, standing by the window with a serious expression, turned around.

“There’s someone in the garden.”

“That can’t be.”

At this time of day, all the servants would be sleeping.

It was also extremely rare for someone to get lost and come to the remote Prince Palace.

“It’s not just one person. At least three… No, it’s four.”

When Rosena spoke specifically, Yerhan rose from his seat.

He no longer listened to Rosena, but came to her side.

“Did you listen to the birds?”

Rosena’s shoulders shook slightly.

Rosena, who looked at Yerhan with the look as if saying ‘How did you know that?’, recalled old memories.

When she met him in the past, she said she could hear animals speak.

And Yerhan was the only one who truly believed it.

She didn’t think he still remembered that.

“Can you tell me more specifically?”

“Armed men are approaching the palace…”

Even before the words were finished, Yerhan quickly pushed Rosena.

Rosena fell flat on the bed, and Yerhan picked up a sword that had been placed in the corner like an ornament, and then the window by the back broke.

The broken glass poured down like rain. Men dressed in black jumped inside with the wind.

Yerhan swung the sword calmly.

The harsh sound of blades hitting filled the room.

Yerhan agonized the moment he faced the sword.

He didn’t want to be seen killing people in front of Rosena.

“Take the woman hostage!”

Shouted the assassin, whose sword collided with Yerhan’s.

At that word, Yerhan’s worries were shattered at once.

Yerhan instinctively moved his body and thrust his sword into the waist of the assassin who was running towards the bed.

When the sword that penetrated his waist was pulled out, the assassin fell on the spot without even reaching the bed.

Yerhan did not stop. His head was full of thoughts of killing the rest of the assassins.

His pulsating heart and the sense of going wild captivated him.

His blue eyes darkened as if a dim evening were coming, and soon sank into a perfect navy.

Yerhan did not seem to be human.

The movements could not be called a human being.

Moving reflexively, he finally pierced the neck of the last assassin.

The assassin trembled without even making a sound, and as soon as the merciless blade was pulled out, he bent forward.

Yerhan slowly looked around, holding a sword dripping with blood.

Thump, his steps turned toward the bed.

Rosena looked at the approaching Yerhan.

Yerhan, who was just in front of the bed, stopped.

Rosena’s face filled his navy eyes.

Rosena was looking up at Yerhan, motionless.

Rosena’s red eyes trembled with fear.

After seeing it, Yerhan’s body stopped.

The hand holding the sword shook mercilessly, and soon the sound of the sword falling to the floor was heard loudly.

“….Get out.”

A barely squeezed voice came out.

“Hurry up… Run away!”

Rosena lifted herself out of bed after hearing his desperate voice.

And she took one step closer towards Yerhan.

It was a lie if she said she wasn’t afraid. It was a shock to witness the murder in front of her eyes.

But she couldn’t turn a blind eye to Yerhan.

His darkened navy eyes looked as if they were shedding tears.

Finally Rosena stood in front of him and raised her trembling hand.

It was the same as that day. Her heart was beating like it didn’t know how to beat, tremors spreading throughout the body.

She didn’t know why but there was a strong attraction that she had to hold and shout at him.

“Yerhan…”

When the name was called, Yerhan looked straight at Rosena.

Rosena’s trembling fingers went down Yerhan’s cheek.

The fingers that slipped like raindrops wrapped around his chin.

Yerhan’s eyes grew bigger and gradually narrowed.

He grabbed Rosena’s wrist which was stretched out toward him, and pulled her at once.

Rosena opened her lips slightly in surprise.

Rough, but soft tongue penetrated through the open lips.

Yerhan’s hands wrapped around Rosena’s head and began to covet her lips.
