Illian, who entered the banquet hall, swallowed a sigh.

He thought Rosena was too worried, so he pretended he wanted to play with the kids…

Illian touched his eyes. Earlier, he pretended to cry because the second princess, Asilia, was picking a fight for no reason, so his eyes were a little sore.

So far, this method seemed to work well, so he thought he needed to use it more.

Illian took a step forward and slowly rolled up the curtains and looked around.

The space behind the banquet hall was decorated for children to play in.

There were enough toys to play with all day on the shelf, and the floor was covered with soft rugs.

The girls sat down at a small table set aside for a mini social gathering.

They even took on roles to practice for when they’d meet each other, and even gave the tea a try.

The boys were playing with toys or rocking horses. Meanwhile, there was a familiar face.

They were the children of Asilia whom he had an argument with at the divinity ceremony yesterday.

They were cousins to Illian, but he’d rather not have cousins that stupid and childish.

Illian pulled the curtain back completely and went inside.

The children, who were having fun among themselves, stopped doing what they were doing and looked at him.

The children were mesmerized by Illian’s pretty appearance which was as if he had popped out of a fairy tale book.

He was like a doll, with shiny blonde hair and glassy red eyes without any impurities.

The children rose from their seats and began to approach Illian.

“Hi, what’s your name?”

“Your hair is beautiful.”

“You look like a prince.”

Everyone, regardless of gender, was amazed and interested in Illian and talked to him.

Illian, who stole the show at once, stood blankly and smiled. Then the children who were asking this and that stopped talking.

It was more effective to smile once than to utter ten words.

“What the….”

As everyone’s attention turned to Illian, Asilia’s first son, Lux, frowned deeply.

Lux was posing as captain here until just now, and Illian’s appearance deprived him of all the attention.

Feeling offended, Lux strode along and pushed the children around him.

Lux, who stood in front of Illian, shouted proudly.

“What are you all doing? I’m the boss here!”

The children blinked in surprise and looked at each other’s faces.

“What? The boss?”

“Why is he the boss?”

Unfortunately the younger children were ignorant of status and power. He tried to pose as boss again, but the children didn’t come over.

Lux looked around in bewilderment. But no one came near Lux.

“Play with us.”

The children who left Lux alone suggested to Illian to play together.

Everyone was excited to play with Illian.

But Illian was going to kill time quietly and then go back, so too much attention was troublesome.

But he didn’t want to be mean to the kids who showed interest in him.

Since Rosena had been worried about him, it might be better to make at least one friend and leave.

“Do you all know what this is?”

Lux, who became distracted, pulled a toy out of his pocket. The toy, which was full of jewels, was luxurious just to look at it.

The children were interested in the toy for a short time, but quickly lost interest.

What was filling and overflowing in this room were toys, too. Besides, they were all children who grew up without shortage, so jewelry wasn’t very interesting.

When the children didn’t respond much, Lux’s face turned red.

Huffing, Lux began to bully the boy who was sitting and playing on the floor.

At first, it was just a touch of the palm, but when the boy didn’t respond, he started pulling his hair because it was fun.

“Don’t!”

The child cried, and the others began to look.

Lux, who was only then able to grab the attention, stabbed the child in the ribs with a wooden sword.

The small child began to cry out as if he were about to shed tears.

The children playing around were restless. But they couldn’t say anything because they were afraid Lux would hit them with a wooden sword.

“Stop it.”

Illian rose from his seat and approached Lux.

“Why should I?”

Lux tapped Illian on the shoulder with the wooden sword, grinning.

Illian looked at Lux with no expression on his face.

Lux flinched at the sight of the child and raised his voice as if he was not afraid.

“My mother told me your dad is a monster.”

There was a buzz when he said that.

“Monster? What’s that?”

“It comes out of a book, and it’s scary and bad.”

“Then Illian’s dad is a bad guy?”

The children chatted among themselves, and Illian sighed.

He had no intention of stepping up to the plate, but Lux was now doing what Rosena hated the most. It was the act of the strong bullying the weak.

Illian exclaimed smartly as he looked at Lux.

“Monster means a kid like you. You bastard.”

At that, Lux rushed to Illian.

Illian borrowed a wooden sword from a child playing next to him. And immediately swung the sword around as he had learned from Isaac.

Before Lux’s sword reached Illian, Illian’s wooden sword struck Lux’s thigh.

“Ack!”

It was quite powerful and the sound of a painful scream was automatically heard.

Lux leaped up and swung his wooden sword recklessly.

Illian leaned back and bent over and dug into his arms. Then a bang was heard again.

Lux, who was hit in the ribs, was in so much pain that he burst into tears.

Lux shouted, throwing out a wooden sword carelessly.

“I’ll tell my mother everything!”

Illian shrugged as Lux ran away crying. His skill was so lame that he couldn’t even become his practice partner.

Illian returned the wooden sword he had in his hand to its original owner.

Then the children standing absentmindedly burst into exclamation.

***

Rosena returned to the banquet hall, barely calming her pounding heart.

She kept feeling Yerhan’s gaze next to her, but she purposely pretended not to know.

If they made eye contact, she thought she would show him her stuttering like before.

Rosena was looking for Ibella. It was because she was so embarrassed that she had earlier left her and escaped alone.

Meanwhile, a roar could be heard from the inside of the banquet hall. There was a particularly large crowd on one side.

She didn’t think it was this bad when Asilia appeared….

Just in case Ibella was over there, Rosena slowly headed into the crowd.

As she headed inside, half of the people in the banquet hall were so crowded that she wondered if she was there.

When Rosena began to run over, Yerhan raised his arms to keep her from being hit by others. Then he pulled Rosena towards him to minimize the bump.

In an instant, she was almost in Yerhan’s arms. Rosena swallowed her breath.

It must have come naturally to Yelrhan, but she was nervous for nothing.

She forgot her purpose for a moment, Rosena thought she had to find Ibella once she was back.

And it was the moment she was about to back off.

Rosena found a girl surrounded by nobles.

“!”

Rosena looked at the girl with her eyes wide open.

The girl is Kayla Helis, the youngest daughter of the Marquis in Astania.

Within months, Kayla had become a little lady. Kayla, who turned 14, grew quite tall this year, and seemed to be only one inch apart from Rosena.

Kayla was standing with two envoys.

Her slightly tanned skin and exotic appearance made her stand out among imperial nobles.

She knew Kayla would attend the banquet, but when she saw it with her own eyes, it felt like she was dreaming.

The nobles were talking to Kayla over and over and over again.

Kayla learned the imperial language from Rosena and was having a conversation without much difficulty.

Rosena stood tall and came to her senses. It wasn’t good to meet Kayla now.

Rosena was hiding that she had contact with Astania.

She did not want to be used politically, and besides, she didn’t tell Yerhan that she lived in Astania yet.

At first she didn’t tell him because she would run away, but later she missed the right time to talk.

Rosena, buried in Yerhan’s chest, murmured.

“There are too many people, so for now….”

“Teacher?”

Rosena paused upon hearing words spoken in the Astania language, which had not been heard in a long time.

Slowly turning her head, Kayla was looking straight at Rosena.

“Teacher!”

Kayla came up to Rosena through the crowd around her.

Rosena, who was frustrated, tried to move her body, but she couldn’t because there were many people around her.

The envoys standing next to Kayla also rushed toward Rosena, and everyone’s eyes were on her side.

“Long time no see. I missed you so much.”

When Kayla spoke to Rosena in Astanian, everyone looked puzzled.

The envoys and Rosena were the only ones here who could understand Kayla.

Rosena looked at Kayla with a puzzled face. She was going to meet her secretly later, but she never thought she’d run into her in such a crowded place.

“Ma’am, why aren’t you talking? Did you forget me?”

When Rosena said nothing, Kayla burst into tears.

Rosena shook her head hastily to a face that was about to cry.

“How can I forget you?”

Kayla, who had been crying, soon smiled quickly.

Rosena, who was smiling openly, realized that it had become quiet around her.

When she looked up and looked around, everyone was looking at Rosena with a shocked face.

‘Ah… I did it.”

She fell for Kayla’s tears and spoke Astania language without realizing it.

Rosena was belatedly wondering how to patch things up.

“Your Highness, did you just answer in Astanian?”

The nobles wrapped around Rosena with excited faces. It was a great talent to speak Astanian.

The language was so complex and difficult, and there were no teachers for it in the empire, so it was almost impossible to learn Astanian.

Reading and writing could have been done somehow by studying books, but listening and speaking were completely different issues.

“What did you just say?”

“Are you acquainted with the young lady?”

Rosena’s eyes moved with a very perplexed face when she was being asked.

She had unintentionally informed the whole world that she could speak Astanian.

As the nobles approached with a glint in their eyes, Yerhan stretched out his arms and drew a line.

The blabbering aristocrats paused. Only then did they keep some distance from Rosena.

The nobles were excited to talk to Rosena even though they were wary of Yerhan.

Kayla was good at the imperial language, but not perfect. And Astanian was unique and the way it’s pronounced sounded somewhat mysterious, so just listening was pleasant to their ears.

Yerhan looked at the nobles with an expressionless face.

Rosena turned sour watching it. Then Kayla asked nervously.

“Ma’am, did I put you in trouble?”

“….No, you did not.”

Rosena smiled to reassure Kayla.

Rosena said to those waiting for her answer, thinking that she should only hide what she can hide.

“When I was young, I taught myself Astanian, so I can speak a little bit.”

The nobles were busy admiring the words.

“You’re amazing. Self-taught.”

“The young lady seems to understand right away, I guess you’re at a high level.”

Rosena replied with a smile.

Then she whispered quietly to Kayla, who stared at her.

“Kayla, I’ll explain the details later.”

“Huh?”

Kayla nodded gently. Then everyone was amazed and asked again.

“What did you just talk about?”

Rosena thought for a moment and smiled back.

“I asked her if she was tired, and she answered yes.”

Kayla opened her eyes wide. But the nobles, who could not be aware of Rosena’s lies, nodded.

“We’re sorry. She must be tired.”

The nobles crept back out of fear of making a mistake with Kayla.

Kayla was different from the foreign envoys who came every year.

In the past few hundred years, Astania had never sent an envoy. But this time, envoys were dispatched to study abroad for Kayla.

Kayla was such a valuable guest.

Everyone looked disappointed, but they couldn’t hold on to Kayla because she said she was tired.

“It was fun, young lady.”

“I’d like to talk to you next time if I have a chance.”

The nobles, who had gathered, each said a word to Kayla and stepped down.

Rosena, who finally got out of the crowd, breathed out loud. Then her waist and shoulders touched a firm chest.

As she looked up, her eyes met Yerhan, who was looking down at her.

“….You can speak Astanian?”

“A little.”

It felt as if she was lying.

Rosena looked down at Kayla, who stood by her side. She had a lot to explain because she met her after a long time.

After thinking about it for a while, Rosena thought she should set up a separate occasion.

When Rosena tried to ask for Yerhan’s understanding, she heard the voices of nobles in her ears.

“I greet Your Highness, the Crown Prince.”

Rosena frowned reflexively.

She couldn’t even see his nose, so she thought he wouldn’t have to see his face today…..

Zigrit, who accepted the greetings of the nobles, naturally approached Rosena.

“Long time no see, Third Princess.”

Rosena, who was once again in everyone’s attention, wondered to herself.

‘What crime did I commit to suffer like this today?’

“You look beautiful today.”

When Zigrit pretended to be close to Rosena, Yerhan stepped forward and covered Rosena. But Zigrit had only a significant smile, which seemed not offensive at all.

Zigrit was not as clingy as usual, perhaps because there were a lot of people.

But Yerhan remained vigilant. No matter how many eyes were on them, he couldn’t relax.

Rosena stood behind Yerhan and looked at Zigrit. Then she found a strange thing.

It was customary to leave weapons behind at banquets, but the handle of the sword was slightly exposed under the cape.

As Rosena looked at it carefully, Zigrit took a step closer.

He whispered, looking straight at Rosena, as if he could not see Yerhan.

“Look closely. Who suits you more?”

Rosena frowned at the meaningful words.

Does he intend to do anything in such a crowded place?

As soon as Rosena grabbed Yerhan’s hem, the ground thumped loudly.

Surprised, everyone cringed reflexively.

Thump, thump, thump.

The ground shook at a constant beat. The pillars that supported the banquet hall vibrated as well.

“Uwaaaa.”

A scream came from the entrance. The guard standing outside rushed in.

“Everyone please evacu….”

However, the guard’s words did not completely continue. The guard’s body floated into the air and fell to the floor by something sticking out from the outside.

The nobles, who had lost track of the situation, looked at the entrance with frozen faces.

Thump, the sound of the floor ringing was not an earthquake. It was the sound of something gigantic.

Someone murmured as it strode inside, breaking through the entrance.

“Monster!”

It was a monster attack.
