Episode 7

Yerhan looked down at Liden, who was fast asleep.

She was sleeping next to Yerhan, looking for warmth.

Yerhan’s fingers danced across the reddish marks on Liden’s body.

Just looking at the marks he left made him feel full.

It was obviously an impulsive relationship, but he didn’t regret it.

Rather, he felt satisfied and thought she looked so lovely.

Yerhan touched Liden’s short hair.

Touching her hair, having it slithering between his fingers, it felt as if he owned all of her.

Yerhan couldn’t overcome the urge and kissed Liden on the cheek.

When the warm skin came into contact, his chest thumped.

He kissed her earlier because he wanted to quench his burning thirst, but now he couldn’t stand her loveliness.

Yerhan, who was smiling unconsciously, pulled the blanket up a little.

He lifted himself up after gently touching Liden’s cheek.

There was something to do before dawn. It was the disposal of the dead bodies.

Yerhan took off his wet clothes and picked up the bloody clothes he was wearing.

Just in case, he didn’t want to dirty the clothes Liden gave.

As he walked out of the cabin, he was filled with nice, fresh air from the rain.

The white trees with water droplets on them shook lightly in the gentle breeze.

He felt so good that he thought he was excited.

It was only natural to feel that way because he had found the light he had been looking for so far.

Yerhan took a light step toward the place of the dead bodies.

The scene of fierce fighting remained there. Trees that were cut randomly by knives and five bodies were scattered all over the floor.

Fortunately, all the blood had almost been washed away thanks to yesterday’s rain.

Yerhan pondered where to put the bodies.

After much thought, he found some bushes and began to move the bodies.

Moving five dead bodies was quite troublesome, but it was better than being caught by Liden later.

“Or is it fortunate that it is not a monster?”

If he had dealt with a monster, he would not have been able to dispose of the body perfectly because of its large size.

By the time he finished organizing the surroundings, it was quite late.

Yerhan hurried to the cabin, recalling Liden who would be alone.

His steps became faster and faster, and the closer the cabin got, the more his heart beat.

He wanted to see her face even though it had only been a short while.

Yerhan opened the wooden door after changing his clothes outside.

Yerhan put down his knife and looked toward the bed, wondering if she was still asleep.

The bed was empty.

“……”

Yerhan stared at the bed, his face hardened.

He looked around to see if she had gone out for a while, but he couldn’t see her bag in the corner.

Thump thump, his heart started beating hard as if it was going to pop out.

Yerhan hurried out of the cabin and looked everywhere.

He could feel no signs in the forest, which was full of white trees.

The birds’ chirping sounded like echoes, Yerhan stood blankly and then came to his senses.

It wasn’t the time for this. She couldn’t have gone far, so he had to find and hold on to Liden now.

Yerhan, who stood with an expression as if the world was collapsing, ran recklessly.

Running through the forest, he called out Liden’s name.

He was frantically looking for her without even realizing that he was scratched by a branch.

But no trace of Liden could be found even until the sun rose to the center and fell again.

At sunset, Yerhan sank down in the middle of the forest.

He had to admit that Liden was completely out of his reach.

“How could…”

His voice trembled wildly. He felt like he had been hit in the head.

He never thought she’d disappear after a short absence.

Yerhan touched his chest with trembling fingers.

To be exact, the bandage she put on yesterday was firmly attached to his chest.

Yerhan stared into space and dropped his head.

All sorts of bad imaginations and anxieties came upon him.

Did she run away because he did as he liked yesterday?

Or had she seen him kill the assassins?

Or had she noticed the ferocious feelings inherent in him?

Yerhan’s face distorted. There was a lot of regret.

He hoped he’d be a little nicer, holding in the desire at that time. If he wasn’t a monster…..

He couldn’t breathe properly. It was as if he had forgotten how to breathe. She was the breath and salvation for Yerhan.

He was obsessed with everything about her, but she ran away without giving him a clue to find her.

Tears rolled down from his dry eyes.

Yerhan keenly realized he couldn’t do anything.

He had neither the power nor the money to find Liden.

It was impossible for him to find a woman named Liden on this wide continent with nothing.

Tears dripped on the floor. The tears were the resentment and misery for his lack.

Yerhan, who had been bowing for a long time, slowly raised his head.

His eyes, filled with frustration and despair, burned as blue as a flame.

The Emperor, Barmun Orbe Herbet, had a problem.

It was that the number of monsters appearing in the empire increased.

He organized an order of knights to defeat the monsters, but their achievements were insignificant.

It was because ordinary humans could not deal with the monsters.

In fact, there was no way to defeat the monsters.

There were people who were chosen to get rid of the monsters, it was the royal family of Herbet.

The Herbet Empire was known as the empire of divinity.

The royal family were all born of divine blood and have been elevated as sacred beings.

However, the divine blood weakened as the generations continued, and modern descendants were born with little divine power.

Fortunately, the Crown Prince of this era had a distinct power of divinity, but it was not enough to deal with numerous monsters alone.

The royal court had no choice but to watch the number of monsters increase because it was impossible to send out the only Crown Prince.

“So, you are my son?”

Barmun looked at his opponent with an expressionless face.

He was the third son whose face he saw for the first time.

Barmun looked through the man’s face, who was claiming to be his illegitimate son.

As if to prove to be an imperial family member, he owned both bright blond hair and blue eyes.

And the divine power, which can be felt vividly even with his eyes closed, was shouting that he was the blood of the imperial family.

Barmun thought back into the past for a moment.

Surely there was a time in the past when he took the daughter of a lord in a rural area.

It was a shame that she ran away overnight, but he didn’t bother to find her.

However, he didn’t expect she was pregnant with his child.

“How can I believe that?”

Even though he was already convinced that this man was his son, Barmun uttered cold words.

“This will prove it.”

What he took out was a badge of identification. That was what Barmun gave that woman a long time ago.

Barmun, who scanned the identification card with his eyes, asked.

“Your name?”

“I’m Yerhan.”

The tone was courteous, but his neck was stiff.

The attitude seemed to make Barmun laugh in vainly.

“What’s the reason for you coming to me now?”

“I’d like to make a deal with you.”

Yerhan did not call Barmun father. Barmun also did not point that out.

“Let’s hear it.”

“I heard you’ve been having trouble with monsters these days.”

As soon as he hit the main point, Barmun’s eyes narrowed.

Barmun raised his head with a face telling him to continue.

“I’ll subjugate the monsters.”

“You?”

“I’ve traveled around the empire and killed a lot of monsters. If you want to test me, I’ll bring you the body of the monster.”

As he said so, Yerhan’s face was calm, but there was a sense of nervousness somewhere.

He seemed indifferent, but the desperation hidden in him could be recognized by the Emperor, Barmun.

Obviously, it was not only to subjugate the monsters, if Yerhan was told to lick his feet, he would do it.

“So what do you want?”

“Give me power.”

Barmun, who saw his strong eyes, swept his chin.

With this level of divine power, the body was capable of killing the monsters.

Barmun raised the corners of his mouth.

He had a weapon in his hand that could handle the monsters without any loss.

“All right.”

The deal was neatly concluded, and Barmun rose from his seat.

He whispered as he passed Yerhan, who was still sitting.

“In four days, I will proclaim you as a Prince. Son.”

Rosena walked out of the clinic with a blank expression. What the doctor said kept circulating in her ears.

– Congratulations, you’re pregnant.

Rosena couldn’t get her act together on the news of her pregnancy.

It was a shock to have a child in her first intercourse.

“I’m pregnant?”

Rosena, who muttered to herself, stopped.

If she was really pregnant, the father of the child was undoubtedly Yerhan.

But it was Rosena who ran away from him.

She sneaked off, pledging not to be involved with him again.

But an unexpected variable caught Rosena’s ankle.

Rosena swept her belly. She still hadn’t felt anything.

She couldn’t believe there was a new life there.

Rosena muttered with her face distorted.

“I should get rid of it, right…..?”

Rosena, who had just settled here, couldn’t raise the child alone.

Even if she gave birth and raised him without anyone knowing, a father’s absence could not be ignored.

It was clear that a child born in a single mother family in a foreign country would be greatly discriminated against.

Rosena thought of Yerhan for a moment. The sight of him sweeping up her face and smiling was still vivid.

What would he say if he knew? Would he tell her to get rid of him or raise him?

Rosena began to walk with many worries.

The sky-high sun receded and a new red glow from the sunset casted over her face like a shade.

Finally arriving at shore, Rosena gazed at the fluttering waves.

The sea at sunset was particularly calm.

It looked particularly different even though it was the same sea that she had seen throughout the trip.

After standing for a long time, Rosena curled her fingers.

Once upon a time, it was her wish to come to the sea with her family.

But she had never been to the sea with her family before.

In the past, she had a vague yearning for her family. She wanted to have a harmonious family more than anyone else.

But it didn’t work out like Rosena wished.

His father died early, and her mother and sister secretly planned to marry her off.

And Rosena left the mansion, watching the sea alone. With a new life.

Rosena raised her hand and swept it down her chest.

She could feel the sound of her pounding heart and her belly that still didn’t rise much yet.

Tears flowed down Rosena’s cheek, who was standing blankly.

She said she would get rid of it for her child’s sake, but in fact, everything was an excuse for herself.

It was because she wasn’t sure she could take responsibility for the child.

But the child would be her new, and only family.

If she pushed him or her away like this, she might regret it.

She didn’t know if she could provide him or her with a good family, but…

Rosena murmured as she watched the setting sun.

“Let’s do our best.”
