“I am the Captain of the Knights of Tiriad, who had defeated the monsters on behalf of the crown prince.”

“!”

Everyone swallowed their breath at that one word.

The roots of the truth, which everyone firmly believed in, were fully revealed, igniting the lingering distrust.

Yerhan, who easily killed the monster that the crown prince couldn’t deal with at the banquet hall.

And as soon as Yerhan left exile, the monsters appeared unexpectedly.

All the circumstances were perfectly aligned.

“Yerhan Herbet!!”

The empress, who looked as white as frost, shouted.

When the empress, who had never raised her voice, rebuked him, the murmuring stopped at once.

Empress Tersia sprang from her seat and looked straight at Yerhan.

“You’ve broken the law, and now you’re lying! It is the Crown Prince, Zigrit Herbet, who has protected the empire.”

But as soon as the empress finished speaking, someone stood up from his seat as a mourner.

One, two, and the number of people standing up had increased.

The empress crumpled her face in bewilderment.

And those who stood up took off their coats all at once.

The black uniform hidden in the ordinary coat was revealed.

The golden embroidery on the chest was a symbol of Tiriad.

The nobles looked at them with a dazed face. Isaac continued talking to such nobles.

“Our lord is the Third Prince, Yerhan Herbet.”

“.…Oh, my God.”

Among the nobles, someone spit out a groan.

When the truth could no longer be hidden, Zigrit screamed.

“Get them out of here!”

The knights of the royal family, who were standing in line around the place, moved their bodies in unison.

As they approached the mourners’ seat, the Tiriad knights also pulled out their swords in unison.

Soon the funeral hall was in chaos. Swords and swords collided violently.

The sound of iron clashing, shouts, and screams filled the funeral hall.

The number of imperial knights far outnumbered the Tiriad knights.

However, the Tiriad knights skillfully cut down the imperial knights as if they were dealing with scarecrows.

The imperial knights who had never been to war in the past few decades were weak in combat.

It was the first time the imperial knights had ever seen the swordsmanship of the Tiriad knights.

Unlike traditional swordsmanship, which prioritizes beauty, it was fast and strong in preparation for battle.

Isaac and Crayle collaborated to defeat the knights. When Crayle swept the knights away with an ironclad, Isaac cut out the remaining ones.

The three knights rushed to Yelvin, who was running wild with a sword.

Yelvin turned as swift as a wild beast and kicked the knight’s stomach as he dug to the side.

The knight’s body floated up and then pushed back, and the neatly placed chairs rolled all over the floor at once.

The sound of swords clashing again and sharp scratches was heard.

Isaac pushed the sword that made contact away. Then he quickly swung his sword to the right and cut off the arm of the deputy chief of the imperial knights.

“Argh!”

He screamed, his flesh and blood splattered on the dry grass.

Tiriad knights pushed ahead, but it was not easily determined because the number of knights on the crown prince’s side was much higher.

“Kill him first!”

At Zigrit’s shout, the imperial knights began to attack Yerhan at once.

But there was no need for the sword to collide.

Yerhan grabbed the sword and cut the bodies of the knights who rushed at him.

The tip of his sword was precisely pointed at their vital points.

As the knights rushed in, his deputy commander, Elsid, covered him.

Every time the two’s swords cut through the air, corpses were strewn at their feet.

Yerhan moved forward while dealing with the imperial knights that gathered like ants.

His purpose was Rosena from the beginning.

Upon realizing this, Zigrit immediately pulled out the sword he was wearing around his waist.

His gaze, full of madness, was directed towards Yerhan.

“Come on, I’ll kill you today.”

But Zigrit knew.

He knew he had no chance of winning a head-to-head fight with Yerhan.

Zigrit immediately jumped off the podium. He also ran towards Rosena.

Unlike the nobles who sat in the back, Rosena, who was seated in the front row, could not run away immediately.

“Catch that bitch!!”

“Rosena!!”

A thunderous shout was mixed among the sharp sounds of metal hitting.

Zigrit and Yerhan ran towards Rosena at the same time. However, Zigrit was much closer to Rosena in terms of location.

As she was about to be caught, Rosena exclaimed.

“Help me!”

Rosena shouted with all her might, and the birds hovering in the air, watching the situation, flew in unison.

Small birds began to attack Zigrit’s body with their beaks and claws.

In the face of the sudden attack, Zigrit swung his sword at random.

“These fucking birds!”

When there was an opening, Rosena jumped straight towards Yerhan.

“Rosena!”

Yerhan, who was running through the crowd, stretched out his arms to catch Rosena.

It was the moment when the two of them were about to touch.

His hand, stretched from behind, grabbed Rosena’s wrist in an instant.

Zigrit, who had already dealt with the birds, caught Rosena.

Rosena was dragged back by the recoil and embraced by Zigrit.

“It’s all my victory, Yerhan Herbet!!”

Zigrit smirked with joy.

And it was then that he tried to turn Rosena’s struggling wrist.

Bang!

Everything shook with a roar.

Zigrit’s hand hovered in the air, and Rosena flopped to the floor.

Even the knights who risked their lives to continue fighting stopped their actions.

The ground shook as if there had been an earthquake, and there was a loud sound like thunder.

The screams of the nobles grew louder and the knights also turned to the direction of the sound.

The bodies of those with their feet on the ground shook violently, and the sound of something breaking hard was heard.

A tall building visible from afar collapsed at once.

The sound of the earth was getting closer and closer, and something blurry could be seen, coming from far away.

A gust of dust blew in and covered the air like a mist.

When they couldn’t keep their eyes open, everyone closed them tightly and then reopened them.

The dust gradually lifted and shapes began to appear.

Uncountable monsters were lined up like an army.

It was a monster attack.

It was the moment when people were so surprised that they couldn’t even scream.

At the sudden appearance of the monster, people froze, not able to breathe.

Rosena, who fell to the floor, slowly raised her head.

Monsters with huge appearances lined up in rows.

But strangely, it was humans who stood at the forefront of the dozens of monsters.

A man in plain clothes was leading them as if he was the commander of the monsters. Rosena looked at the man blankly. He wasn’t familiar to her, but he wasn’t very unfamiliar either.

It was like they had passed and met each other once.

The man slowly looked around him.

As if time had stopped, his gaze finally reached Rosena, and glanced at the motionless people.

And he slowly opened his mouth

– I’m here to help.

Rosena’s eyes widened.

They’re here to help?

Rosena quickly looked around. But the people were still silent, with faces full of fear.

It seemed that she was the only one who understood the man’s words.

– Humans are dangerous. Come with us.

Rosena belatedly realized where she had seen him.

It was the man she saw on the road in the capital the last time she left the Imperial Palace. She remembered that the man in the rain was strange and called out to her.

But why is the man here? He also led the monsters.

Maybe that man.… is a monster?

Rosena’s thoughts couldn’t go on any longer.

The man raised his hand and pointed towards Zigrit and Rosena.

Then, the monsters standing behind him all started running towards Zigrit all at once.

“Damn it!”

Zigrit muttered aloud and pulled Rosena, who had been lying on the floor, up roughly.

Things were not going well.

It was too much just to deal with Yerhan, and to make matters worse, the monsters came all the way to the Imperial Palace.

When Zigrit brought Rosena from Astania, he remembered the monster that had attacked him.

It seemed that the situation was similar to that time, but even just looking at the numbers, it was impossible to compare it to the monsters he had seen so far.

The knights who continued the battle also turned and corrected their posture. Now was not the time to fight with humans.

Zigrit grabbed Rosena’s wrist tightly and grabbed his sword.

Zigrit’s eyes gleamed with a blue light as he caressed Rosena’s skin.

He was overflowing with power as if he had touched his deep veins.

It was so powerful that it was impossible to contain them all.

Zigrit quickly cut down the monster that was running towards him.

“Ugghh!”

Rosena felt the pain on the wrist that Zigrit held on to with every move he made.

She tried to push him away, but he was as hard as a rock and he did not move.

“Rosena!”

Yerhan called Rosena.

Yerhan ran towards Rosena with all his might, but was soon blocked by the knights.

The imperial knights surrounded Zigrit to cover him.

However, the knights who had never dealt with monsters before were only helpless in front of the ferocious monsters.

The bodies of the knights were torn and crushed alive.

The imperial knights began to falter as an unrecognizable corpse was kicked by a monster’s foot with a roaring scream.

Zigrit never let go of Rosena’s wrist even as he faced the monsters that rushed at him. Now that he was in contact with Rosena, he was able to cut down the monsters easily.

However, the number of monsters was absurdly many, and even though he had strong power, Zigrit’s swordsmanship was far from actual combat.

“Ugh, ugghh….”

Zigrit exhaled his breath harshly.

While he opened a small gap, the sharp claws of a monster dug into his shoulder.

His flesh fell and his shoulders were drenched in blood. A stinging pain came rushing in, and Zigrit felt a belated fear.

He was clearly holding on to Rosena and had enough strength.

Even though everything was prepared, there was no chance of victory, as if the future was all dark.

Zigrit bit his lip and shoved a knife into the monster’s stomach with difficulty.

He thought that if he had strong power like Yerhan, he would be able to deal with monsters easily.

However, what he lacked was not the power of the divinity.

Skills and experience. That was the difference between Zigrit and Yerhan.

A huge monster jumped towards the Zigrit.

Zigrit instinctively realized that he could not deal with that monster.

It was the moment when the monster raised its front paw to attack Zigrit. He pushed Rosena in front of the monster.

Everything happened in an instant.

Belatedly, the monster tried to turn around, but its claws had already cut deep into Rosena’s waist.

The black dress ripped open and drops of blood were scattered in the air.

At the same time, Rosena’s body began to fall to the floor.

Very slowly, the scenery around Rosena came into her vision.

The first thing that caught her eyes was Yerhan.

“Rosena!!”
