The two sat to catch themselves and to heal. As Lucy was at 1%, it was going to be a long 50 minutes. Though, seeing how low she was, Worm decided she would heal her every thirty seconds until she reached 80 percent.
"Alright let's see," Lucy spoke, "After that fight, I'm at level 8 now, and you're at level 9."
Worm nodded.
"I think the devs, overall, made the game harder," The girl said. Sunset eyes squinted. "Harder, but fair."
"That's for sure. . .5 items between 10 creatures. Pretty generous for a mmo this hard. Or maybe it's just due to us finding the dungeon first?" Lucy replied, "There might be a hidden boost?"
"Perhaps."
Lucy was currently staring at the list of loot they acquired, not to mention the 37 Souls she now had. She debated continuing to save them but, the harshness of the previous fight, and the knowing you couldn't improve your stats within a battle, forced her hand to spend ten of her Souls. 5 to physical defense. 3 to physical attack. And 2 to speed. Bringing her total down to 27.
That done, the two looked at the stats on their loot.
[Goblin's Leather Breastplate]
—a piece of armor that once belonged to a goblin. Through game logic, it'll surely fit your human-sized figure.
+11 to physical defense.
[Goblin's Bronze Sword]
—a standard, mass-produced, weapon for goblin swordsmen. Nothing fancy, but it's decent.
+8 to physical strength.
+4 to physical defense.
[Goblin's Bronze Sword]
—a standard, mass-produced, weapon for goblin swordsmen. Nothing fancy, but it's decent.
+10 to physical strength.
+2 to physical defense.
[Goblin's Bronze Dagger]
—a standard, mass-produced, weapon for goblin rogues. Nothing fancy, but it's decent.

[Goblin's Shoes]
—shoes picked off the corpse of a goblin. It seems in poor shape, yet, of course you can wear it.
*Prevents and disarms grounded, goblin traps from setting off with contact.
+4 to physical defense.
"Oooh." Lucy's eyes widened. "One of them has a mod."
Mods, or modifiers, were special effects equipment, other game-mechanics, and items could have within the world of Eclipse. It was practically the selling point of the game. In the betas, there had been certain ways to augment your weapons, armor, and skills. Essentially, modifications were usually a good thing and the one on the [Goblin's Shoes] was great for this dungeon.
"And it seems the goblin bronze weapon series has a maximum stat bonus of 12 that's randomized between two stats based on the class expected to wield the item." Worm's own findings were more on the technical side of things.
Lucy looked at her speechlessly.
". . .what? I'm merely jotting down mental notes for my article. I'll be writing one on this Dungeon and its rewards," The girl said.
"I see, that makes sense."
The girl before her was someone who wrote articles on game information, mechanics, and stories. Sometimes, she forgot that fact. Though, she couldn't put the person who posted about a player who tried to have sex with a goblin scout with the girl before her together as one and the same.
Lucy thought Worm was just slightly a bit intimidating. The girl in question, however, touched her chin. A bit of a habit when thinking, maybe.
"Alright." Lucy pointed. "I'll take the breastplate and shoes. They'll be helpful when and if I take the lead. You want the dagger, right?"
"Oh?" Worm raised a brow. "How did you figure?"
Lucy rolled her eyes.
"It's all you've been staring at for a while now. Plus. . .you seem to focus more on speed than even me."
Lucy herself moved on a 60% speed 25% physical attack and 15% physical defense sort of thing. It was an estimate, but that was how she typically spent her Souls. Worm, on the other hand, seemed to lean even more towards speed.
The girl chuckled.
"I suppose that's true. I like its speed. It'll come in handy if I ever find myself in a really tight space."
"Figures," Lucy said, "I'm guessing we'll be selling the rest along with the bow too?"
Though one of the weapons had a higher chance physical strength bonus than the one she currently wielded, Lucy liked the balance between that and the defense bonus on hers more—9 to 3—especially within this evil dungeon.
Worm nodded.
"Yes." The girl shrugged. "I'm quite terrible with bows and my sword is still better."
Lucy raised a brow and took a chance at a piece of intel. "What's its stats anyway? How'd you get it?"
Worm half-smiled.
"It isn't anything special, I simply like its balance. It's a [Bronze Sword] with plus 7 to physical strength and plus 7 to speed, which I acquired from helping the village smith."
"14 total stat bonuses versus 12. . ." Lucy muttered, "Indeed, it's better for your style."
Its stats might not have been special, but it had a 2 point advantage on the goblin weapon series. Depending on how long the girl had had it, there was no wonder as to why she was first on the leader board. Though, Lucy had closed the gap and found herself now second at level 8.
"Indeed."
Both girls took what they agreed upon and Lucy equipped her new chest piece, finding it magically fitted snugly on her person. She also wore the brown shoes, though disappointed with the color.
Though Lucy wasn't fully healed, she was pretty close and her arm was back. The two moved deeper into the dungeon and entered the room the goblins had once been stationed. They passed by a tipped-over table, walked across a puddle of booze, and, there, a large door, the first door they had seen, blocked their way.
"It's the boss room, isn't it?" Lucy raised a brow at the clear obviousness of the thing. She supposed, no matter the technology, mmos would still have very obvious things like so.
"Probably."
". . .let's rest a bit more."
Worm laughed.
Lucy smiled, thinking the girl's laughter a bit cute, especially when matched with her restrained expressions.
