Emmy and the others entered the guild and started walking toward a room in the corner of the building while ignoring the gazes of the other people inside the establishment.

They stepped around numerous tables and chairs, some of them upright and others thrown about, they crossed puddles of wasted alcohol that had yet to be cleaned and a small bit of food, which made for breeding places for ants.

Emmy wrinkled her nose at the scent but she couldn't exactly hate it, it was not any better than a bar and she did see some of the patrons in the guild cleaning up their messes instead of leaving them there to fester.

"Boss, is that the place?" Harlin asked quietly, pointing toward a door in the right corner of the guild and she nodded.

"How does it feel to have people's gazes on you?" Emmy asked him, and the boy looked around, confused.

Emmy inwardly marveled at the boy's absentmindedness and his lack of awareness of how tall he, an 8-year-old was. While he wasn't taller than the adults when they were standing he could easily reach their chest or even their chin depending on the height of the adult.

As for if they were sitting like now? He easily towered over them but he wasn't the only one.

"I think the boss is the one gathering the most attention though."

"Hmm," Emmy said, her hands behind her back as she felt the gazes on her frame, "It would appear so. I guess the sight of a tall female child is enough to gather this much attention or is it the fact that she is now leading a group of kids to take a test for one of the most dangerous jobs in the world."

"I'm surprised we weren't stopped at the door," Noelle said as she looked around, closely following her brother as if to take away from the attention on herself but it only had the opposite effect.

As to the eyes of those looking at the kids, she was clearly the shortest and most likely the youngest as well. Emmy felt sweat gather on her forehead, Noelle was only 5 years old but she was going to make her fight Hilichurls when she should be playing around.

She could understand the confused and somewhat enraged gazes headed their way now. But that didn't matter to them now that they had arrived at the door.

"Let's go inside," Emmy said but nobody moved, she tilted her head, "Nervous?"

Fischl and the others just gave her a strained smile, with the girl peering into the door with hesitation before drawing her head back.

"No need to be nervous, this is going to be easy. If we have to fight, it will just be a few Hilichurls or maybe a quest to move some supplies, nothing serious. We might even have to explore a domain, that might be fun," Emmy said, waving her hands around in excitement as if anything she said wasn't dangerous to the average person.

"Hmph! Brat, why are you so loud, can't you see I'm trying to have a drink?" A man with a large build and beard said, his bald head shining in the light from the windows.

"And who are you, good sir?" Emmy said a smile on her face. Her tone was polite, just as her parents taught her to be.

"I'm Cynol."

"So, Cynol, may I ask why you are shouting at a bunch of 7 to 9-year-olds? I can see you want to have a drink but I am also trying to raise the morale of my team, can't YOU see that?"

"Urgh-"

"Hmm. I won't antagonize you, I simply wanted you to know that while I may have bothered you, you have also bothered me. Let's go inside guys, Let's leave mister 'I love alcohol' here to have his drink."

Emmy pushed all her friends inside the door despite whatever protest they may have had initially. She gave one final look to those outside before she closed the door of the room.

Meanwhile with those in the main room.

"Those brats," Cynol cursed as he slammed his drink on the table, the other adventurers laughed for a few moments before they settled down.

"So Cynol, the guild master made you the test subject for those kids this year huh," A red-haired man laughed as he slapped the table he was seated at.

Cynol sighed, "That bastard Cyrus made me do this, what will the kiddies think of me now? But they indeed passed the first test of patience. What do you think huh Millard?"

"That's good, we wouldn't want them to fail now, would we? Wouldn't want that much talent going to those guys in the army or Archon forbid a mercenary. Adventuring is way more fun," Millard said and then finished his drink in a single gulp.

"Time for me to do my commissions, still have one more left. It's that ruin guard extermination quest again, hey anyone wanna team up?"

Some of them raised their hands and stood up. Millard left his cup on the table and grabbed the sword that he left on the wall before he walked away.

"Bastard, wait for me. I still have a bit of steam left from that kid telling me off earlier, man. Jemma's brat sure learned a thing or two from her huh, didn't expect to be put under fire today though."

"Sure," Millard smiled at the man, "We could use the extra hands, who knows what could happen out in the wild these days. Though I do like to think she got that from her dad instead, that guy was always ruthless with his words."

"A mother with a fiery temper and a father with words as cold and sharp as a blade, if she didn't pick up a few of their ways to cripple another person with just her words, I would really be disappointed."

"What the hell, you sound like a fucking uncle right now, hahaha."

"Bastard, I'm just a little over 40, and I still have my vigor from before, I also know her parents. So I could be considered a relative in a way."

Their laughter faded as they exited the guild and went to do their commission.

While the adventurers were preparing to take on their last commission Emmy and the others were currently seated in a room being briefed about the adventurer's examination.

It was even more simple than she first thought it was going to be.

"So, all we have to do to become adventurers is to either kill an entire camp of Hilichurls, a single Mitachurl, or a ruin guard?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes, an investigator will come along with you to make sure that you are safe and will not be met with any danger but we have received word of your combat abilities and have deemed it relatively unnecessary to send a combat-capable one. Nevertheless, anything can happen in the field."

"So who will be the one to accompany us, mister...?"

"Marcus, my name is Marcus. I apologize for not saying so earlier but you appeared to be in a hurry. So I will make my next question swift, are you all vision wielders?"

"Yep!" Emmy said with a smile and Andre raised his thumb in agreement.

"Hmph! One thought thou art to be was an established veteran but it is clearly not so, as thou was incapable of seeing I, the Prinzessin was capable of conjuring the mightiest of storms. But one shouldn't fault you for your short-sightedness, as one's disguises are as dark as the night and move mysteriously as the stars in the sky."

"Mhmm, you tell him," Ansgar said, nodding his head as his eyes remained closed and his arms crossed.

Marcus chuckled nervously in response.

He didn't even want to know what was going on with these kids, but his mind couldn't help but make theories as to why they were like this.

But he didn't dwell on it and clapped his hands together.

"We will now go to the test venue, where you all will take your first steps to become official adventurers. I trust you all have your equipment or whatever you may need?"

They all nodded.

"Good, then I will meet you all at the gate."

"Yes sir!"
