Isabella had lost consciousness.

Startled by the feeling of someone caressing her hair, Isabella opened her eyes to see a person leaning against the bed where she had laid.

He stared at her as he continued to stroke the silver strands of her hair, and she was relieved that he wasn’t a stranger.

“I had a terrible nightmare,” Isabella grumbled. “I dreamed that the dark energies had enveloped me, dragging me into this world.”

Isabella shuddered.

She had no desire to recall the dream again.

When he saw her like that, he let out a mocking laugh.

Isabella grabbed the quilt with trembling fingers.

“It’s not a nightmare, Isabella.” His tone was as calm as her hands.

He was not Archduke Kyar.

He might have a similar face, but their auras were different.

Isabella glanced at the man nervously.

He seemed colder and more cynical than her Archduke.

When the man reached out to touch her silver hair again, Isabella immediately pulled back to avoid his hand.

“Who are you?” Isabella asked shakily

The man looked at her while suppressing an evil grin.

“I am Descartes. Your fateful villain.”

Isabella shook when she heard the name mentioned in her past dreams.

“Oh, my. Are you nervous? Isabella, don’t worry. I will never hurt you.”The corner of his lips curved upwards, but it was much creepier when the smile wouldn’t reach his eyes. “It’s different from what it looks like, Isabella.”

“Where in the world am I?”

“I’ve been waiting for 1500 years just to see you. It was a long and long wait. I was so bored, but it’s alright because I finally met you again. Now, even God can’t take you away from me. I won’t lose you again to that fake bastard who copied me.”

Isabella couldn’t understand a single word he said.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but one thing is sure. You’re out of your mind.” She said harshly.

His face turned cold and hard.

Descartes was her middle school friend’s male protagonist in her novel entitled “Ice Flower.”

It seemed like the world she was in was also connected to that particular novel’s setting on the other side of the boundary.

Then, can she also return to her original world through this boundary?

“Can I just be myself in this world? God had betrayed me. Fate took me into this fake setting, and even my identity had been copied, as well. I’ve been waiting for you for more than 1500 years.”

One thousand and five hundred years…

Was the time flow different between the human world and the world of novels?

Her friend stopped writing this novel fifteen years ago.

She couldn’t believe that this world had existed for over one thousand five hundred years!

Honestly, she felt a little sorry for the madman, but she was still pissed off that he dared to call Duke Kyar a fake.

Archduke Kyar was never a fake.

Also, he wasn’t the kind of person who moved in the direction that the writer set him to.

Duke Kyar possessed a warmer heart than any other man she had ever seen in her life.

She felt that the Archduke was much more authentic than this crazy devil who had waited for her.

The man in front of her was playing the villain.

His current role was what the author had rightfully decided for him from the beginning.

“I am the only one who can decide what my fate is. You could say whatever you want. I don’t care.”

His excellent hands stretched around her neck as if to throttle her.

Isabella’s scowl didn’t waver as Descartes applied enough strength that could snap her throat into two at any given moment.

“When God created me, she had aligned your fate to mine. You were supposed to save me when darkness had eaten my soul from the inside out. I still believed in you and our destiny, so I endured all suffering.  But…. what? Are you telling me now that you have decided on your fate? No. You don’t have that authority in the first place. You existed in this world so that you can save me, Isabella.” His dark eyes glittered with anger.

The devil was more insane than she had expected.

“I exist only for myself. I have no intention of saving you, so don’t expect anything from me. You are the only one who can save your life. I think it’s possible because there is no way that you have lived for such a long time. And who else are you calling a fake? You are the one living according to what God had ordained you without any will of your own—-”

Isabella couldn’t say anything more when he squeezed her neck.

“Tell me that you’ll stay by my side. Promise me that you will save me, and I will spare your life.”

I….would…..rather….. die…. Yes.”

She spat out every word painfully because she could no longer breathe.

Isabella will not beg this madman to spare her life.
