But why didn't she say anything to him? Why couldn't she confront her problems with him instead of facing it all alone?

"There's no problem in Tang Enterprise right now, President Ye, aside from the suspicion that it was the former CEO, Tang Zhelan, who was the one behind the sabotage on the project. But this couldn't be proved yet since there's also a possibility that someone from the board of Ye Corporation is involved in it." The private investigator told him.
"Then get to the bottom of it. Check for any call history and email exchanges between the people involved. I need to know if the construction manager was receiving instructions from any member of the board. The sooner we can find the rat, the better." Ye Xiaozu replied.
"Then what about Lu Ziluo, President Ye?"
"Would you be able to dig information from eight years ago? To see if Lu Tianxin was involved with another man and to see who fathered her son?" He inquired with curiosity.
"I'll see what I can do to gather relevant information, but I cannot promise you anything at this point, President Ye." The investigator replied.
"That's fine but keep it low profile and don't let any of my aunt's people know we are making a move." Ye Xiaozu understood that he cannot be certain yet, not when he still had relatives who were ready to stab his back at any time.
"Alright. If you want, I can do a subtle investigation on the rest of the board just to make sure they aren't planning to plot against you anytime soon."
"Yes, please. It would be wonderful if we could stop them midway."
"No problem, President Ye. I will email you the reports once they are ready." The investigator said before he hung up.
Ye Xiaozu rubbed his temple and sighed before dialing Elaine Wu's number. It was time to end the engagement he had with her, for both of their sakes.
"Xiaozu? What is it?" Elaine's voice sounded like she'd just woken up from her slumber.

"Elaine, are you free this afternoon? I want to talk to you about something." He replied and nervously tapped the armrest of his chair.
He dearly hoped that Elaine wouldn't throw a fit because of it. After all, he'd seen how his previous ex-girlfriends reacted whenever he ended their relationship once they started to ask for more.
