The glass of water stared at him from the bedside table, he took the medicine and sipped water, then he plopped back onto his pillow. His stomach had settled, but that was likely because he hadn't eaten a bite in over thirty hours, not since the vomiting last night.

He suddenly felt cold again and pulled the blankets closer around his neck. He shivered in the heat. By now he realized that he had caught the flu. Oh, what a great time to get sick. He totally lost his chance to spend the day with the elusive empress and her twins.

He wasn't able to wake up earlier to join Moyu and her little buns for breakfast. He wasn't even sure if they were waiting outside for him right now. Ah, he couldn't even recall when was the last time he fell sick like this.

Today was Saturday, and he should be spending it with Tang Moyu and her little buns. The empress was only at home on weekends, which was why Feng Tianyi always looked forward to spending time with her at home.

"Don't force yourself to get up if you feel dizzy. Tell me what you need and I'll bring it here."

The devil froze on his bed and turned to his side, only to see Tang Moyu seated on the chair next to his massive bed. Her legs crossed and a familiar book rested on top of her knees, her spectacles on her face.

He didn't expect that Tang Moyu would take an interest in reading his books. Since when was she here in his room anyway?

"What time is it?" He pushed his upper body up and leaned against the headboard of his bed.

"Past eleven in the morning." Tang Moyu answered.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't able to join you for breakfast." He told her.

When he didn't hear any response from her, he cracked an eye open and saw her staring at him blankly. He wondered what she was thinking as she continued to stare at him.

"What?"

"Nothing. I'm just wondering." Tang Moyu said. "I didn't think that I'm only keeping you here to make our meals. I would've hired an executive chef if I wanted to."

Feng Tianyi forced himself to smile despite his splitting headache.

"Why are you keeping me here then?" He questioned.

Tang Moyu hummed before flipping the next page on his book. "I wonder that too."

"Perhaps, I grew onto you like a clingy boyfriend already?" He still tried to tease her despite his awful condition.

Tang Moyu scowled at him. She was tempted to hit his head with the back of his book, but decided not to. He was already feeling unwell anyway.

"I could kiss you right now, but I don't want you to catch a cold too."

The empress scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Where's Baobao and Little Star? I hope I didn't make them worried when I didn't show up."

Ah, he would really hate himself if he made them cry again, especially Little Star. Ever since Moyu told him about Little Star's condition, he had paid extra attention to the girl, to make sure she wasn't hurt.

"They were worried at first. I wouldn't have known that you are sick if they didn't check on you this morning. Don't worry, Tianxin and Sister Yaoyao took them out to entertain them. They will be back later."

"I see."

Feng Tianyi didn't have enough strength to continue their conversation, not that Tang Moyu minded anyway. A moment later, he fell asleep again. He would have continued talking to her because he really liked hearing her voice, but there was no strength in his voice, just a whisper.

His breath quivered in short, quick gasps every time he inhaled, his lungs had no choice but to painfully and rigidly take in the air around him. He couldn't seem to stop shaking either. Sometimes it was rough, other times he could manage, but every time he'd get close to sleep, a new spell of violent shaking would force him awake.

"Damn it." He cursed slowly, but was enough for the empress to hear.

"Do you want me to call a doctor to check on you? Or should I call an ambulance to bring you to the nearest hospital?"

Feng Tianyi raised a hand in her direction, stopping her. No, anything but that. Ever since his accident, he despised going to hospitals. He would rather stay at home to recover than stay at the hospital. Also, it was rare for Tang Moyu to volunteer to look after him.

"There's no need for that, Moyu. I just need to take a rest. It's already enough for me that you are here." He said in a hoarse voice.

"I'll get better. I'll get better," he said like a mantra.

His face was beet red and his skin glistened in a way that had the empress worried. His lips are puffed out and the skin on them shows the first signs of dehydration, but he still refuses to be taken to the hospital and she cannot force him to do so unless his condition became worse.

"But if it becomes worse…."

"It's just been a day, Baby. Everything is going to be alright." He assured her. It was just a simple flu. There's no need for her to worry too much, but he appreciated her concern.

Tang Moyu looked right into his eyes and knew he meant it.

"Fine but if this condition of yours persists, don't blame me for dragging Song Fengyan here to bring you to the hospital." She conceded.

Men. Why did they always pretend they can manage when it's obvious they needed help?
