Tang Moyu raised a brow but didn't say a word. She knew that Lu Tianxin and Tang Zhelan had been neck on neck since childhood but she didn't expect that the animosity to last until now.

"I don't want you to think that this is all your fault. We aren't blaming you for this dire situation. If there's someone who should be accountable for the loss, it should be Zhelan." Lu Tianxin continued. "A lot of us depend on the company."

"So I've heard. But your brother and Uncle Xu are wealthy enough to support the family until we can straighten out the company." Tang Moyu said.

Lu Tianxin shook her head.

"But it isn't their job to provide for all of us. Didn't Grandpa say his father and his own grandpa started the company to make sure every one of us would be provided for no matter what? Us, daughters, would be married and join another family, but look at the two of us right now." She chuckled with amusement and sarcasm. "We both have children out of wedlock. You and I know that it would be hard for us to get married in the future."

"I have no intention or desire to become someone's wife." Tang Moyu said with finality.

Her cousin stared at her with bewilderment before it dawned on Lu Tianxin that Moyu's previous scandal with the second master of the Feng family had made her like this.

The end of her lips curled into a slight smile.

"So you agree with me that we don't need a husband to live leisurely," Lu Tianxin pointed out. "Also, I don't want the legacy of our ancestors to end like that."

"So what are you trying to suggest, Tianxin?" Tang Moyu didn't want to beat around the bush anymore. It was obvious that her cousin wanted something from her.

"I want to be part of the executive team, Moyu."

"Then you have to talk to Grandpa about that. I cannot give you a position without the board's approval."

Lu Tianxin laughed. Her gaze then turned to the man heading towards them.

"It's good to see you back, Moyu." She said before leaving the fallen empress to get her son.

Tang Moyu's younger brother, Tang Beixuan came towards her and followed her gaze.

"What were you guys talking about?" He asked.

"A secret plot to take over the world," Tang Moyu said without batting an eyelid. It had almost been a month since she arrived back at Shenzhen, yet this was the first time seeing her brother after months of not hearing from him.

Tang Beixuan looked around. "You didn't bring my favorite buns with you?"

Tang Beixuan's handsome face contorted with annoyance. Who in the world could resist the charms of those two little devils?

"Oh, look who's here?" A sarcastic voice reached the Tang siblings' ears. "I didn't think the fallen empress would grace us with a visit today." Tang Zhelan appeared with a flute of wine in one hand. She was wearing a tight dress that clung on her feminine curves.

"Well, look who's here. The bitch who caused the fall of our family business." Lu Tianxin came back with her child. Her hands covered his ears as she glared back at Tang Zhelan with the same ferocity the woman had. "Just where did you get such shamelessness, Zhelan? You should be the one groveling for forgiveness right now!"

Tang Moyu held her cousin's arm and shook her head. It would be a waste of time arguing with Tang Zhelan knowing the latter didn't seem to admit her mistakes. What's more, it wouldn't be nice for Lu Tianxin's son to see her fighting with another woman.

"Let's go back inside, Tianxin. Luo Luo must be hungry." She told her cousin.

Lu Tianxin frowned but didn't object to Tang Moyu's suggestion, knowing that she just wanted to avoid making a scene today. She walked back to the main house while the Tang siblings promised to follow after her shortly.

However, it didn't seem like Tang Zhelan wanted to let Tang Moyu go yet.

"Leaving already, Moyu? Don't you think they are quite calm considering the situation of the company? They must be thrilled to know that their dear Moyu would be able to pull the same stunt you did for Feng Conglomerate."

Tang Moyu stared at her for a moment before turning her back at Tang Zhelan.

"Come, Beixuan. You and I have something to talk about." She called after her younger brother.

"Ah, why didn't you bring your little bastards today?" Tang Zhelan's next remark made the fallen empress halt on her steps.

"You!" Tang Beixuan stopped and faced their cousin. How dare this woman mock his sister's cute little buns?!

Tang Zhelan let out a mocking laugh, raised her flute to her lips, and took a sip. She was thrilled to know that she could finally annoy Tang Moyu like this.

The fallen empress turned to face her and took steps forward until her face was dangerously close at Tang Zhelan. Only those who were close to her knew that she wasn't a force to be trifled with.

"I said where are your little bastards?"

The moment she uttered those words, one hand landed harshly on her cheek.

Smack!

Tang Zhelan froze and cradled the side of her face hit by Tang Moyu.

The empress's eyes darkened as she looked down at the woman who caused her problems recently.

"I dare you to repeat that." Her tone was so cold, Tang Beixuan forgot that the sun was still up in the garden where they stood.

"You dare to hit me?" Tang Zhelan's eyes were wide. She laughed incredulously at Tang Moyu's face. "Why? Is the Empress ashamed that she has a pair of bastards?"

Another slap landed on the other side of her face then Tang Moyu snatched the drink on her cousin's hand, slowly pouring the wine over Tang Zhelan's face, her eyes unreadable. At that moment, the Empress didn't care what people would think of her.

Tang Zhelan's scream pierced the peacefulness of the house.

"Zhelan, you should know how to pick your battles wisely." Tang Moyu whispered at the woman who fell on her knees, "I wouldn't be so forgiving next time." Was Tang Moyu's parting words before she left the scene with her brother in tow.
