Gu Yuyao lay on the hospital bed, trying to get some rest but failing. She watched with amus.e.m.e.nt as her husband held their baby, whom she had fought hard to bring into the world. Her husband obviously couldn't contain his happiness over the birth of their child, always following him with his gaze whether she was feeding their baby or when their son slept on the bassinet that was set next to her bed.
Even she couldn't believe that she would end up having a family with him after over a decade of separation. However, she had to admit that she was moved over the fact that He Lianchen hadn't given up on her and waited for her return, even when knowing that it was uncertain.
"Yaoyao, I already called Grandpa, but he said he still has commitments, so he would be here the earliest tomorrow," He Lianchen informed her with a smile. "He couldn't wait to see our baby."
Although their children won't be able to use his family name, it didn't matter to He Lianchen anymore. He also didn't want their children to be associated with the He family. It was enough for him that he could be with Gu Yuyao and their child. There was no need for them to be involved in his complicated family.
Someone knocked on the door which was followed by the excited voices of Feng Tianyi and Tang Moyu's little buns. They immediately went to He Lianchen once they spotted him holding his newborn baby.
"Uncle Number 2, I wanna see your baby!" Little Star demanded with her round eyes.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Xiao Bao asked, curious to see if he would have a new playmate or another girl to look after aside from his twin sister.
He Lianchen sat in the armchair and allowed the twins to take a look at the baby in his arms. The little one wiggled in his arms and turned his head away as if he was shy to be seen by others. He had just been b.r.e.a.s.tfed by his mother and was awake when their guests arrived.
"Woah, he's so cute and tiny. Hello, Baby. I'm your big sister, Little Star. Nice to meet you!" Little Star patted his small fist with her forefinger only to be grabbed by his tiny hand.
"It seems he likes you too, Little Star," He Lianchen murmured much to the little girl's surprise.
"I like you too, baby!" She giggled before murmuring sweet words to the baby.
Tang Moyu,who was watching the scene with her husband, nudged Feng Tianyi's side to get his attention.
"Are you sure this plan of yours will work?" she asked lowly, curious about how her husband's plan would go.
Feng Tianyi had told her about his intention to expose their daughter to Gu Yuyao and He Lianchen's newborn baby. The more Little Star gets to know and enjoy the baby's company, the more chances that she would change her mind and allow them to have another bun.
"She likes babies, right? I also noticed how she likes to play with Lin Qianrou's son whenever they visit us," Feng Tianyi responded.
At least Xiao Bao didn't oppose the idea of having another younger sibling but it was hard to convince Little Star. Whenever Feng Tianyi raised the issue, their little girl would fall silent as if she was offended by him.
"Heh, then good luck on your mission to change her mind," Tang Moyu chuckled. She knew her daughter's personality well and knew how hard headed Little Star could be when she was being challenged.

"How are you feeling, Sister Yaoyao?" she asked as she took a seat next to the bed.
"I'm good— a little tired but good," Gu Yuyao assured her. "He'll be a great father don't you think, Moyu?" she asked as she glanced at her husband who was immersed in conversing in a low voice with the little buns while holding their baby.
"There's no doubt about it," Tang Moyu answered her friend. He Lianchen was a man of few words but he had a soft spot for children, which was obvious whenever he spent time with the little buns.
"I know that her brother has been calling him to return home these past months but he wouldn't tell me," Gu Yuyao suddenly said, taking Tang Moyu's attention.
Feng Tianyi had once mentioned to her that He Lianchen's relationship with his brother was quite complicated and that what He Lianchen knew was just one side of the truth.
He Lianchen had been chased out of the He family for a reason. With a manipulative second uncle behind his brother, it made sense to Feng Tianyi why the second young master of the family had been kicked out.

"I hope you are right, Moyu. Lianchen didn't have any family except for his brother. I can't force him to mend his relationship with him but I hope they'll try to at least understand each other."
