A young girl appearing to be no older than eleven years old was struck across her face by her father and sent tumbling across the floor.
Because she had not been allowed to use the bathroom, her bladder had filled beyond its limit until she finally wet herself.

If the girl was hurt by this treatment, she did not show it as she dragged her weak and underfed body off the ground.

The man continued to yell and berate her for what felt like an eternity before he grabbed her by her hair and threw her into a closet.
She was used to this closet and she actually felt more at home here than she did outside.
This place was her sanctuary.
Here she could just sit in silence while she focused on the dull throbs of pain that ran throughout her body.
The girl actually had a talent that she'd never shown anyone.
In that dim, cramped closet the little girl slowly opened her palms and a radiant golden light sprang forth.
This light was her only salvation and her only means of entertainment.
She would play with it for hours on end until her hunger pains got the best of her and she fainted.
Not knowing what it meant, she thought of it as her only friend or maybe it was a gift from the goddess she'd heard so much about.
Either way this strange power of hers brought her extreme comfort.
As she was mesmerized by the radiance of her golden light, she did not feel the approaching footsteps that signaled the return of her father.
Suddenly the door to her sanctuary was thrown open and her father looked at her with scornful eyes with a belt in his hand.
"And another thing you little!-"
The man suddenly lost his train of thought as he stared gobsmacked at the golden power shining brilliantly in the young girl's hands.
She was so surprised by his sudden return, she lost her concentration and the power began to dissipate.
As she looked into the eyes of the man who was supposed to be her father, she saw a completely new look in his eyes.
This look terrified her much more than his rage that she'd come to know so well.

Currently, Exedra was being tended to by blushing maids.
He couldn't go and retrieve his father and daughter whilst reeking of sex so he was being shown to a bath and he was told his wives were being taken to one as well as they had yet to wake up.
Upon reaching the bath, Exedra prepared to simply jump right in when one of the maids posed a seductive offer.
"Would you.. like us to join you my lord?"

Without waiting for another moment, he slammed the door in their faces leaving the two demon women terribly distraught and embarrassed.
It's not that they were unattractive, but Exedra was not the type of man to enjoy in carnal pleasures with women he had no attachment to.

On the contrary his resolve might have been stronger than before.

The only thing that hadn't changed were his two distinctive red and purple eyes that seemed to be constantly glowing.

Exedra was alarmed when he sensed a presence in the room and turned to the source only to see a single red eye staring at him from the shadows.
"Another abyss king? Who are all of you and what do you want with me?"
After experiencing the malevolent pressure of his grandfather, Exedra found that everything else paled in comparison.
Not only could he look this strange being directly in the eye, he could even attempt to converse.
Unfortunately, he received no reply until the eye vanished and he was delivered a message from the system.
[ Host has impressed Fatum, The Fifth Abyss King by escaping certain death.]
[ Fatum has transferred to the host his original spell, Impending doom.]
[Impending doom may only be used once every two years.]
With that, the eye disappeared leaving Exedra in the bath alone once more.
"That's the one grandfather spoke of right?… How curious."
He could only assume escaping certain death referred to his risky attempt to save his father.
He'd look into the spell and his new system functions later but for now there was a more pressing matter.
Exedra felt he'd stewed long enough in the bath and decided it was time to go find his daughter.
He could only imagine how pissed she'd be at him for leaving unannounced for two weeks.
