Chapter 229 Blue Rocket

Just as Old Zhao said that, the three elders stood up together and headed for the exit.

Old Zhao was confused. He was sure he hadn’t said anything wrong. Why were they all leaving? “Wait, where are you all going?”

“Nowhere. I already promised that I’d give you all the resources you need. I’m a bit tired now since I’m old. Really,” the short elder yawned.

“That’s right. I’ll honor my promise. Just let that young man cultivate in peace. Something urgent came up, so I have to leave,” the lady chuckled.

“I… I have to go back and accompany my granddaughter.” The silent elder smiled.

The three of them left as Old Zhao was still confused. Only after a few minutes had passed did he realize what had happened. “Aiya! I’m such an idiot! Why’d I tell them that?! To have such overwhelming talent! I should’ve just trained him myself!”

The other three elders merely glanced at each other outside the room. All of them were thinking the same thing. Whoever catches him first wins!

Suddenly all three of them disappeared; they were running at full speed. The workers were just about to greet them before they disappeared.

Normally, a genius could either be a researcher or become a strong martial artist with enough resources. But to be able to train three martial techniques to Peak Mastery at such a young age? That was unheard of! No one, not even the strongest in history, had three martial techniques at Peak Mastery, and even then he was the pillar of hope for humanity! Xiang Ning was an individual with even more talent than the hero that brought order to humanity and led them to safety. How could they just sit still? They needed to take him under their wings!

Old Zhao remained seated as he watched Xiang Ning. Nostalgia flooded his mind.

“Your parents will be proud of you.” Old Zhao smiled. He waved his hand and a keyboard appeared. He proceeded to type in the chat box. “What do you idiots know about? Look at Xiang Ning! Look at the timing of his attacks and the location he’s standing at! He’s invincible!”

He sent the comment into the chat box with a single click of the Enter key, and a large number of comments soon backed him up.

“That’s right! Who are you to come and slander our Xiang Ning?”

“You’ve only seen how he was beaten left and right. Didn’t you notice that the Octoviolet Silversnake is much slower than before? No wonder you’re all talk!”

“Holy fuck it's you guys again! What are you even saying?!”

......

The chat was divided in two factions as Xiang Ning opened up four gates just to fight against Balamu. His strength was temporarily increased to be infinitely close to tier five. Some of the beasts even tried launching a sneak attack at him as his Experience Points steadily increased.

Experience Points +211

Experience Points +322

Fury Points +444

Fury Points +434

The Fury and Experience Points were increasing, much to Xiang Ning’s delight. He was already fighting on his last legs against the Octoviolet Silversnake. His strength may have increased fourfold, but his stamina was being depleted by the same amount. The moment he was surrounded he needed to use his vitality to explosively break out. He was going to run out of healing pills soon.

Soon, they were no longer capable of sustaining his stamina.

The central area of the ruined city was now a pile of rubble. After the long fight, it was no longer discernible. Xiang Ning swung his sword and defended against a tail swipe from Balamu. Using the force of the attack, he escaped the encirclement of the beasts and landed on a short building.

He was gasping for air and continued swallowing healing pills. But even if his stamina had recovered, his consciousness was almost at its end. He wasn’t even using his flying knives anymore. There were only a few knives left, anyway, as most of them had been rendered useless by Balamu’s corrosive haze.

The black mist continued infecting the beasts and caused more of them to go berserk. They were extremely aggressive right now.

“Human, last chance. Leave. I won’t kill you.” Balamu’s voice entered Xiang Ning’s mind. It was already wounded, its body covered in smaller slashes.

Xiang Ning shook his head and knew that he, too, was at his limit. He didn’t know why the snake would say that, but he didn't believe that Balamu would honor its words. There must be another reason why. After all, it wasn’t human.

For Balamu, this was the most ideal situation for it. It could use the beasts to slowly sap the brat’s strength before coming in for the final blow. There was no reason for it to let him escape.

But before he could even make his next move, a giant explosion rocked the sky. Xiang Ning looked up and saw a blue rocket flying toward Balamu.

The blue trail it emitted was pretty, but when the rocket tore through Balamu’s body, Xiang Ning thought he was dreaming.

When Balamu was hit, it cried out in pain. “All of you! All of you will die here!”

It was a command!

Xiang Ning suddenly sensed that he was in grave danger. He immediately slashed toward his side with the Devourer and an explosion consumed him.

A shard of the Devourer
