"Hey, Master Van. The meat's cooked."

In the course of my journey, beyond the two relaying towns, I finally made my first camp. Well, I've had about an in-car stay on Earth.

However, this is the first time that this warcraft or other dangerous world has been camped.

Faced out of the carriage with some anxiety, the leader of the group of adventurers, with a large scratch on his cheek, offered burnt meat stabbed on the skewer.

He asked two adventurer parties to escort him this time, but they all seem pretty strong. What a half of them are combat sorcerers and two out of ten adventurers are women. One is a big warrior woman with muscular bones. The other is a mage in a robe who is thin and very unlikely to be an adventurer.

And the older man in front of you is a capable adventurer named Ort Sheet. On the strong side, I've been an adventurer for over twenty years, so I can also interact with clients.

So even if the other guy is an eight-year-old kid like me, he's a man who can have a solid conversation. However, the salutation is suspicious by the way.

"Thanks. Good luck guarding the area. Take turns and get some rest."

When she replies and receives the meat, Ort looks at me seriously, blinking her eyes.

"What's wrong?

When he hears that, Ort lowers his head gently with a bitter smile.

"Oh, no... nothing. I'll report back to you later."

That's what Ort said, he left the spot.

"Is something wrong?

When I hear that, Till laughs proudly, "Eh heh".

"Adventurers also know how good Master Van is. Well, if you become a Master Van like me, you can talk about more than a hundred awesome things! Eh!"

After reiterating that Till's head was delightful, I could only give him a dry laugh instead of a reply.

It took me about two weeks to reach an unnamed village. Leaving the city, he took a day off in four towns, large and small, and after crossing the second town, he also went many night camps.

I think that's why I moved slowly while carrying my luggage. If you've traveled 50 to 100 kilometers a day, it's about 500 to 1,000 kilometers.

Does that mean the Marquis is a vast territory? It would be like crossing three or four prefectures if it were Japan, but don't actually wonder how many.

And, thinking about it, the carriage stopped before it reached the village.

"What's up?

And when Till speaketh unto him, he answereth as he hasteneth.

"It's a mess! Looks like the village is being raided by someone!

When I heard the words, I looked out the window. Three Dees are already on alert in front of the carriage.

Beyond, there were dozens or so of figures as surrounding the village. The outfit is a mess, but everyone has some kind of weapon in their hands.

"Oh, the bandits or the defeated mercenary scumbags. Both in the nature of winding up from the weak if in trouble. But we can fight."

That's what Orto, with his face against the window, told me only rarely. I see. The guys surrounding the village are shooting bows and arrows from critical distances to avoid any risk.

The village is surrounded by a thick timber fence that looks sturdy, but doesn't do much for bows and arrows that arc and fly in. You can see the raiders staring at each other from the gap in the fence, but in front of the gate-like place, which is the entrance and exit, the people in the most stubborn armor line up. Behind them were magicians.

If the villagers could not bear to pop out, they would be exposed to the rain of bows and arrows and sorcery. No ordinary person would be able to cut that lead. The villagers must be able to only keep the village protected like a turtle.

"Master Van. Permission to enter the war! If we all do, we'll figure it out!

It is an armed group that seems to have forty or fifty people within sight. Even though it is an ambush, do we have to fight in a situation where we are losing in numbers to an opponent of unknown strength?

No, but there are even Dee and veteran adventurers whose strength is unmistakable. Can you handle that?

"Right..."

I opened my mouth to answer, but Olt pinched his mouth there.

"Wait a minute. Too dangerous."

When Ort says so, Dee glances back at his eyebrow root.

"I understand. But it's not impossible. There will be wounded and dead. But you can definitely repel it."

When Dee speaks so with a heavy voice and shows her sword, Ort quietly shakes his neck to the left and right.

"It's my rule. I don't take requests to let party members die. If you keep running like an adventurer, you don't have to want to, it's just like a bet. If I'd risked my life on all of that, I'd be dead a long time ago."

When Ort answered that, Dee's eyes glistened.

"It comes to everyone when you have to risk your life. Now is the time. That village is my lord's first realm. And the villagers are the first inhabitants. When they are in crisis, who pulls out without me pulling out my sword!

Dee pulls out his sword and says so, but Olt doesn't.

"That's a fine chivalry, but it has nothing to do with us. Even if you pay me extra, if I die, I'm done. If you're traveling, you'll also see travelers attacked by villages and warcraft burned in battle. I'm sorry, but the situation in this village isn't the only one special."

"Nu, Nu Gu... I would like to ask you to at least escort Master Van. Depending on the circumstances, you may be evacuated."

When Dee told him so, Ort nodded shallow. Then it would be the decision to get away with it without dying the worst.

But I can hear Espada there.

"I disagree. Whatever Lord Dee is, the two remaining knights will definitely die. In other words, Lord Dee alone will be dealing with more than thirty people, including magicians. In my view, it's five minutes and five minutes. If this also kills Lord Dee, then he ruled this village, and there is no way forward."

And Espada broke off so in a tone that she even felt heartless. You can win as long as you add an adventurer. Olt's eyebrow roots lean on the way he can be said.

"... I'll tell you what, we don't fight. More or less, it's not a situation where you can fight while protecting your kids and your luggage."

Espada glanced coldly at the pressing ortho.

"I'm also a four-element mage, rotten or not. ground to which the soil was exposed just fine. Expect combat power."

"What? You, you can fight? No, but still..."

Esperda nods shallow to the utter ortho.

"You don't have to risk it. First, I'll build a fence. And all adventurers are urged to carry out ranged attacks from behind the fence. By the time everyone looks this way, Dee and I will storm from the side. Surprise overlays will give you a good chance of winning."

"... can a fence prevent enemy witchcraft? If you jump a bow and arrow from the top, it's over."

"This carriage backs all the fortifications with iron plates. As soon as you make your first ambush, you can get in the carriage and get away with it. Because the only purpose is to catch the eye of the enemy first and foremost."

I'm uncomfortable with Esperda for answering that. I don't know how effective they are expected to be in the first attack, but it's still dangerous for the three Dees to storm. You're still likely to lose.

Then I guess Espada will do something.

"Is Esparda going to stay and fight?

When I hear that, I nod naturally.

"Of course. If I keep attacking from behind the fence, Dee and the others will die."

"Because pinching works best in battle. I studied too. But that's no good. Esperda's gonna die for sure."

Saying so in a strong voice, Espada laughed uncommonly and naturally.

"At the end of the day, this old bone can get a show. Dear Van, please acknowledge this only my best."
