Chapter 23 Chris

Without the siblings and Odin, Detroit Ground Combat Club was soon eliminated, stopping at the top eight. The siblings failed to get the Church of Life’s advancement book and Odin also failed to get the Life Emblem.

As a result, the threats from the Black Death Society came haunting Odin again. In any case, he must get the Life Emblem regardless of whose hand it was on.

If negotiating didn’t work, then brute force it was! Odin’s eyes darkened as he made the decision.

The Silver Snake won’t let him go easily, they certainly would come looking for him. Based on Chris’s expression from yesterday’s match, it was evident they had follow-up plans.

As Odin imagined, on the following day the path to campus was blocked by the Silver Snake.

Every morning Odin would cross a section of woods to reach the campus as crossing it could reduce the amount of time needed to reach the campus by half. So, every morning he would sleep for an extra half an hour. It was a shortcut he discovered, there wasn’t anyone around let alone some cats or dogs.

When Grant came out of the woods with a couple of people idling around, Odin was startled for a bit.

“I heard you’re still poking around about the whereabouts of the Life Emblem?” Grant sneered at Odin.

Odin ignored him. Even if Odin had no intention to search for the Life Emblem’s whereabouts, he would still cause trouble for Odin since it was just an excuse. After Odin turned down his recruitment to join the Silver Snake, Grant was holding a grudge since then. Now, he was just looking for an excuse to beat up Odin.

Glancing at his back, there were several people behind Odin, including Chris. Odin was certain what was going to happen and indifferently asked, “What do you want?”

“What do I want?” Grant coldly laughed. “I’ve told you last time, the Life Emblem isn’t something you can get on your hand yet you’re still having delusion of it.” Grant’s voice sharpened as his tone contained contempt and disdain he had for Odin.

“Whether or not it’s delusion, why don’t we test it out?” Odin gradually stared at Grant’s eyes, not fearing his intimidation in the slightest.

“Then, I let you know what’s something you can have and what’s something you can’t have! I’ll teach you some life lessons!” Grant waved and Chris walked forward with a cap covering half of his face and expression as per usual.

“You should be familiar with him, right?” Grant spoke to Odin with some pride in his voice. “It’s Chris who sent you the envelope. I heard from Chris that you met each other at the arena yesterday. Are you satisfied with Chris’s presentation?”

Remaining silent, Odin raised his eyebrows and just nodded.

“Chris is the most strongest and talented in our club. You’ve seen how terribly those from the Ground Combat Club lost, right? Fallen under a single strike!” Grant spoke with a twisted smile as if recalling something pleasant.

“So?” Odin’s casualness poured a bucket of cold water at Grant. What Grant hated the most was someone spoke to him with an indifferent attitude.

“So! Today, he will strike you down and remind you that the Life Emblem belongs to our Silver Snake.” Pausing, Grant took a few steps back giving space for Chris, and hurriedly continued, “It doesn’t belong to a scum like you!”

“Then, I’ll begin.” This was the first time Odin heard Chris’s voice. It was a slightly eerie voice reminiscent of a slippery snake. Odin had goosebumps all over his body.

Without giving any time for Odin to react, Chris leaped and stepped on the branch of the tree by the side before instantly appearing in front of Odin. His speed was too extreme to the point no one could clearly see his movements.

Slightly stunned, Odin placed both of his hands in front of him to block while exerting his legs before being pushed five or six meters away. In his previous fight, he never met anyone with such speed. Although Odin had seen Chris in action before and knew Chris’s speed was beyond ordinary people, he only realized the gap when facing Chris himself.

However, Chris might be fast but flaws still existed. Ordinary people might not discern it but Odin was a Level 1 Spirit Warlock with more exceptional Mental than common. Currently, he was focusing his mental strength to probe Chris’s next movement, making preparations in advance.

Although Odin wasn’t as fast as Chris, his mental strength was able to accurately capture Chris’s movement. Once understanding Chris’s movement, corresponding countermeasures could be hatched.

Soon enough, Odin discovered although Chris was fast, his Strength was lacking because to achieve lightness of body, the Strength couldn’t be too much.

Odin smiled wryly and thought to himself, “Now it should be much easier, right?”

Focusing his mental strength on Chris’s movement, Odin released his Qi energy to hinder Chris’s speed.

The air was distorted under the act of Qi energy and the pressure intensified. Chris’s speed was affected by the intense pressure. Although he slow down a bit, it was more than enough for Odin to touch his body.

Just as Chris was about to launch his next attack, Odin seized the gap between his two movements, somersaulting into midair and stomping on the branch before throwing a punch right at Chris’s stomach.

“Pfft!” This punch contained 50% of Odin’s Strength. In addition to Chris charging at him, the two clashing forces created an intense power.

Chris was sent crashing onto a tree by this punch. Because of the powerful Strength and strong wind brought by the Qi energy, the leaves on the ground were all blown up, causing the scene to be rather chaotic. Grant and his company’s vision was blocked by the flying leaves.

As a result, Odin had completely turned the table, from passive to active. Grabbing Chris up, Odin viciously kicked at his thigh.

“Do you think you’re so great? I’ll teach you a lesson today.” Every single word Odin uttered was a single kick on Chris’s legs. The latter failed to resist in any way and his legs were almost broken by Odin.

“You’re just faster than others, making them unable to see through your movement. As long as one is patient, the flaws can be detected!” Odin snickered.
