Belicia cautiously opened the door and stepped inside the room, which was much darker than the hallway. As soon as she walked into the room, she was hit with a pungent smell that made her nose burn and her skin start to tingle.
The room was large and impressive, with cream-colored walls and intricate moldings. In one corner, there was an unlit fireplace framed by a marble mantle, and in the center of the room sat a large wooden desk covered in paperwork. Richness and power pervaded the atmosphere.
''Young master. '' Belicia approached the man seated behind the desk and bowed down to greet him right away.
''You can raise your head. '' When the same wheezy voice rang in her ears again, Belicia raised her head and quietly waited with her hands folded in front of her.
''You should understand why I summoned you here, right?'' The man spoke again.
''Yes, master. '' As she replied, She gave the man a quick glance out of the corner of her eye before returning her eyes to the ground.
Belicia was currently too terrified to even look at this man, who appeared to be a skinny 20-year-old man wearing a white t-shirt over black pants. However, it was interesting to note that he had bandages covering his arms, hands, and head, giving the impression that he had recently been in an accident and was recovering.
Only the green and glowing pupils beneath his lashless eyelids were visible on his bandaged face. One would assume from those eyes that there might be an incredibly attractive face hidden beneath those bandages, but Belicia was not thinking about that at the moment. Every breath she took while she was in front of this man hurt, and the tingling throughout her body began to feel more and more like pins and needles.
''Do you have any idea how he recovered? '' The man asked, this time with a voice that was clearly irritated.
Belicia didn't dare hesitate before responding to the question. '' I'm not certain as well. When I arrived to check on him, he had already recovered…. ''
Belicia paused and wished she could tell a lie to keep Raydon's awakening a secret, but the immense pressure from the man across from her made it difficult for her to even think clearly.
Belicia couldn't even say what was on her mind anymore. Her body was starting to comply with the man's commands. It even took all of her willpower to keep quiet about Raydon's awakening as an item holder.
