She entered without hesitation, indicating that she was not surprised by this action.
Belicia walked in and was immediately met by a space that appeared to be a laboratory. In this room, which was quite large, there was not even a window to be seen; the only illumination came from the strange white light-emitting stones stuck to the ceiling.
There were a lot of monster parts, craft tools, and scrolls lying around. She had even observed what appeared to be multiple covered human bodies on the lab's tables. She scowled at what she saw, and then she heard a voice that caught her attention.
''I really didn't expect to see you, Kahkahkah. What do I owe this unexpected visit? '' An ugly laugh was heard. It sounded like two irons hitting each other. Belicia turned to face the source of the voice and noticed an old man walking toward her.
This old man appeared to be so old that the skin on his face was drooping to the point where it nearly concealed his eyes. Additionally, the tone of his skin gave off the impression of being gray, like a person who had been dead for days.
His few strands of white hair and the remaining few teeth in his mouth gave him the appearance of a ghoul rather than a human.
''I came here to check on you, to make sure you didn't do anything to piss me off. '' With contempt in her eyes, Belicia sternly remarked as she spoke.
''I'm very upset that you came here uninvited and are now speaking in such a disparaging manner. kahkah '' The man said. It was hard to tell if he was laughing or coughing.
''No bullshit, Herman. Tell me, is there anything that would require me to know? '' Belicia growled at him and rephrased her question.
''Belicia, you do realize that you can't just drop by and bother me whenever you want? You need to stop interfering with my affairs as well. Keep in mind that the organization supporting me has connections to the family you work for as well. '' In an instant, Herman's sarcasm disappeared, and he spoke seriously.

''Gaaghg, w-what are you d-doing you, you crazy woman? '' When he was abruptly grabbed by the throat, Herman panicked and uttered his words in a flutter.
"I don't care who I or you work for, Herman. You can already move about so freely because I'm constrained by the organization and the family I'm working for. But keep in mind that I will hold you accountable first if anything bad happens to my brother or those close to him, regardless of who we are working for. '' Belicia spoke while gazing angrily into Herman's eyes.
"All right, all right, I didn't hurt them, okay? Just one of my stupid subjects went insane and started messing around. Additionally, he was killed by an Item Holder who happened to be nearby, so there is no need to be concerned. '' He explained it quickly after realizing that Belicia was serious.
''Hey, don't hold on too tight, or my throat might actually break. '' Herman quickly said after becoming aware of a crackling sound coming from his throat.
''An item holder passing by chance? '' Belicia asked, surprised, as she let go of Herman's throat.
'This maniac woman was nearly able to break my throat despite my high stamina and body enchantments. ' Herman reflected while holding his throat. His throat had five fingerprints on it and was so nearly bent like a coke can.
''Yes, some of my men recently came across your brother and his group as they were perusing the street in search of fresh material for me. However, the group's leader was already on the verge of losing his mind, and I believe he lost himself there and slightly beat your brother. '' Herman began to speak, but as soon as he realized Belicia was about to attack him once more, he was terrified.
He quickly took off the covers in the center of the room and revealed the bodies that were hidden there. ''They all perished in the most agonizing manner, alright? So there's no need for you to be angry. ''
Belicia was disgusted by the sight of the bodies lying in front of her when she took a closer look.
Each body had the appearance of having undergone modification. Some had kangaroo-like legs in place of their legs, while others had a beak in place of their mouth. Even one of them appeared to be entirely skinless and covered in crocodile skin.
"I've already given them clear instructions not to kill anyone, and I've also made it clear to them who they should avoid. This is the punishment for disobeying my orders, so you need to believe me, it really wasn't my fault. '' When Herman noticed Belicia's expression softening, he said and covered them once more.
Belicia turned to face Herman's ugly face and knew she had no choice but to believe him.
She went to great lengths to conceal her brother's presence because she did not want anyone to know. Everyone who was hostile to Belicia could harm her brother because every Item Holder had the potential to have an enemy. Furthermore, she was working for a big family, so she might have enemies from other families as well. She left him in the slums because she could hide him there rather than take him with her.
